Visited as we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn. It would appear that this establishment has been closed for some time, and perhaps just reopened as exterior scruffiness matched by the interior. The staff were pleasant enough, but we breakfasted "too early" for the hot buffet to be laid out, as it ," would just get cold " but we could order. We ordered and food arrived, lukewarm, and clearly not freshly cooked. Plus no decaffeinated tea available. How much would a pack of these cost. A very poor experience.

It has always been a positive experience dinning at Ed's in Selfridges (Bham). However, today has been very disappointing. Menu change is dreadful. I was going to order Mac n Cheese as a side dish but advised by staff member the 'kids' portion would be better than the side option as it was not available as a 'main'. The kids version was literally 2 tablespoons! I was told by staff member this was more than I would have received if ordered as a side! Also, menu was not explained fully which literally spending over £30 on a kids option, chicken tenders, onion rings and portion of fries. I shall not be visiting Ed's again. Very disappointing service and quantity and quality of food.

Great view of the canal and south of the city. Very attentive staff slightly underwhelming cesar said with mildly warm chicken and hardly any avocado. Not a lot of power sockets available. But very pleasant hope to try the restaurant soon. Cocktails on the go but I didn't sample

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. Awful. They are taking their customers for fools. A lovely setting serving appalling food. I ordered the rack of lamb only to be served 2 small fatty lamb chops. I thought I had been served the wrong dish only to be told that this was indeed a 'rack' of lamb. The “confit” potato was just a tasteless slice of boiled potato, the 'meat juices' virtually non existent. But there was a huge pile of green beans to fill in all the empty spaces on the plate. When I questioned the potato, I was offered additional potato dauphinois thinking it would be complimentary, only to be charged for that also. So a total of £36 for an awful lamb dish pretending to be something it wasn’t. I wrote to the restaurant and also to Marco Pierre White HQ. They all insist 2 lamb chops is the same as a rack of lamb. It is clear they don't really know better and don't really care. Message to MPW HQ : read all the Durham reviews in the past 12 months, the majority are really poor. The good reviews were mostly 1-3 years ago.

My partner and I visited this restaurant for our 2nd wedding anniversary, using vouchers we received as a gift. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. Steak: The steak was chewy and far from the quality we expected. Salad: The lettuce in our salad was a bit yellow, indicating it wasn't fresh. Seating: We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which felt like sitting outside in a cheap Weatherspoons garden. No offence to Weatherspoons, but it definitely gave off those vibes. Ambiance: There was nothing special about the ambiance, which was a letdown for our special occasion. Food Quality: The main course and dessert were of very low quality. The only highlight of the meal was the starters—salmon tacos, which we did enjoy. As locals, we would recommend avoiding this place if you're coming to the O2 for a meal. There are so many other restaurants that you'd enjoy far more. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a special occasion. We expected much better.

Absolutely shocking! Myself and my best friends have had a tradition of meeting here every Friday before Christmas for the past 20 years. Over the past 5 years the standard of hospitality and food has decreased dramatically! This evening we were informed that there was a reduced menu, reduced drink availability, and the manager had decided to Close the bar at 10pm!!! I had the most dry and pathetic Burger with a small handful of chips for £17!!! I shared the pic on FB and the comments are hilarious! This place is terrible now. New management needed.

Thank you to Katie who looked after our table this evening. Food was so lovely and plentiful. We were able to get free kids meal and two desserts using their App. Katie was so friendly and helpful - she really is an asset to TGI’s ! It was only a flying visit but we will definitely return !! Thank you guys and keep up the great work !!! X

My worst dining experience ever. Despite booking two months in advance for a Christmas staff party, I was told that two of my three pre-ordered choices (main meal and dessert) were unavailable. The tomato soup starter was obviously tinned, not fresh, and the crust on my sweet potato pie (my main course) was burned on top. The vegetables were overcooked and the roast potatoes were quite obviously cooked from frozen. The fruit crumble for dessert was sickly sweet and the fruit was not fresh. All of the for £30 - a complete rip-off. My advice is not to go anywhere near this place and head for the Cowley Road where you will find restaurants offering excellent value - unlike this shambolic Beefeater.

We were greeted by a moaning guy on the front desk when we arrived, bemoaning the lack of staff, bemoaning the fact we hadn't booked (it was a big group and I wasn't the organiser so I wasn't aware of this). We were just about to put £several hundred through the restaurant so a warmer welcome could have been offered - and as it turned out they could easily fit us in. The ale selection was dismal with only Doom Bar available, and that is one of the worst in my opinion. So I opted for a lager from a similarly poor selection of options - but at least there were 4 to choose from. My Ribeye steak was the toughest I have ever had and not very tasty, and something I regretted ordering after a few bites. Due to the fact we were there with extended family I decided to grin and bear it and not ask for it to be changed. It is as I have come to expect from Beefeaters - average food and drink at best and pretty soulless. It's pretty disappointing you have to pay for parking after 3 hours (we were a very big group so were there for around 4 hours) but at least it was quite cheap to do so. It was inconvenient to have to download, install and set up the app though. I believe our server was called Sophie (according to the receipt) and she was a delight. Cheerful and attentive throughout, she looked after my dairy intolerant Aunt very well, was really good with my kids, and was only too happy to help us with a group photo at the end of the meal.

Absolutely abysmal effort of a restaurant! I’ll try and keep this as short as possible but in summary: After waiting an hour for our food to come out (this was after chasing a few times) I think some of our order was served to another table so we was told my child’s meal would take another 5-10 minutes. My food was not what I ordered so I had to make do as we were running out of time because we had theatre tickets booked. My wife’s chicken burger meat was stone cold like it hadn’t been cooked fully (possibly still partly frozen as I assume they don’t use fresh food) so she couldn’t eat it. My childs meal came out and the bun was still frozen inside. Again not edible. We ordered second drinks that never turned up (not offered complimentary because of the delay either) Never offered any condiments. Finally the manager Courtney came over and said she would fix this and this is where the kick in the teeth came. She took the meals off the bill (charged for all drinks) but because we had eaten some of the chips between the 3 of us (as it was the only thing edible) she decided to charge us for 2 sides of chips as well! I explained that we will have to go to our show now hungry and this has ruined the family meal out and we won’t get to eat now till 10pm at night, She couldn’t care less. Despite me suggesting that I can’t believe she is still going to charge considering they have ruined the start of our night, her attitude was simply “well you have eaten the chips so you should pay for them” !! I’ve never experienced such bad service before. It was chaotic in there. They have no systems in place because the tables in front and behind us you could hear also had problems. I was chatting to someone else from another table and they told me it’s like that a lot in there. They must employ young staff with no experience or training nor do they have any systems in place as they were run off their feet and everything seemed to be going wrong. These poor people must have to put up with constant customer disappointment and anger. Extremely shocking effort and I would never return. This place is not fast food and it’s very pricey so to expect some level of quality and service is not much to ask for!
