Ordered cheesy chips but got plain chips but still charged for cheesy chips

Disappointed chips were warm and the fish batter was lovely and crispy but the fish inside was cold but will use them again as all previous orders have been excellent

Cared for the food, delicious and tasty and is deserved of 5 stars!

Hate to leave bad feedback but our food turned up cold to the touch and for the price it was tiny portions and missing the extra sauces I paid for. The same order last week was great but Sidwell Fish and Chips have badly let themselves down big time. Awful quality tonight

Driver didn’t have the thermal bag, just food in a plastic bag on his seat so was cold when delivered.

The food was cold the cheesy chips was cold so the cheese didn't melt it was all cold even the cod which also had bones in and put my dad the fish. Spending £20 with delivery added on I was extremely disappointed.

Didn’t receive the salad which was abit of a pain as I didn’t order anything else to go with my food .

Absolutely fantastic! Scampi was excellent, chips are definitely the best in Exeter and the portions were excellent. Delivery driver was lovely, will definitely be ordering again. Thanks guys!

7.99 for a wrap that was tiny and a few bits of chicken. And had cheese source that was jelly . Chip cold and had to use microwave. Cant belive I spent £30 for a mail that had to go in the microwave. Should of got a ready meal for 1.99 instead Wooooow

Fish bones found in fish witch nearly choke my 5 year old

Didn't get any thing but paid for it. Still waiting for my order.... It says delivered to who....

I ordered 4 x saveloy sausages. I received 4x jumbo sausages. I phoned them to ask what had happened and was told I ordered 4x jumbo sausages. I have the order details which state that I ordered. The saveloy’s. The guy on the phone wasn’t interested. He first said that the Oder was for 4x jumbo sausages. I asked him to check. He then said that there was no order received and told me not to call again. Class act! Never ordering from them again.

Food was cold. Watery Curry Sauce with no taste. Shame... it's been much better.

battered sausage was poor, sausage quality and taste was well below par and a poor excuse of batter barely coated it. chips were average, didn’t expect much after seeing the sausage. gravy however, not bad. 3/10

I use this restaurant often and have never had a issue but today the chips were hard and so miss shaped it was like eating glass less then half were inedible and overall the chips looked anemic. very disappointed

Food was a bit dead, the mixed kebab was dry and hard, chips had alot of cheese but also dead and the burger was meh. Personally wouldn't again

Found some strange item in my fish genuinely looks like strip of woven basket i have a photo as well

We had Hot Wings plus the Viking Basket, to share between two, which was a good way of trying a small amount of various items. We loved the Hot Wings (but be warned, they are very hot!) and we liked almost all of the Viking Basket, except we found the Calamari rather doughy. Another plus point was that everything was easy to share, as it all came in even numbers of items.

Sadly freezing cold and rock hard chips inedible

They are one of the best in Exeter. Their quali5y of food and service is the finest. I will continue to use them.

Chips not right at all, just tasted of oil

definitely the worst place I have ever eaten .. chips were like eating rocks the skin was so hard … the batter on the sausage was soggy and fell off the sausage when picked up the curry sauce must of just came out the fridge and not even warmed up was so disappointing as was treating there family to a takeaway and was the only chippy available so took a chance on this place lesson learnt 35 quid for 4 portions of chips and sausages 2 sauces absolute joke

Cannot say about restaurant service as no interaction directly with them. The quantity of food was larger than expected however the quality is not great. Some of the chips are still relatively uncooked in places, and probably due to the cooking method it all has a rather unpleasant after taste. I was looking forward to testing from a different establishment but will not be re ordering here.

Food was hot a good portion size. Chips had horrible taste and alot of hard unedible chips. Fritter smelt like fish and had very little taste. A real shame as used to be really good food.

The guy on the phone was so rude when I asked about my order put the phone down on me will not be using this place again

Order fish and chips. Both containers were extremely greasy and the meal itself tasted below average(especially for the price) Driver food mixup result in me getting a wrong order originally (was sorted out but I had already started on the chips). I hope that the driver took the remaining fixed up food back to the restaraunt instead of carrying on their delivery. COVID safety and all that. Like usual for a lot of Just Eat orders, the food was still "being prepared" despite it being in my hands but that was minor contribution to the overall poor experience. I also ordered Ice-cream but the one delivered doesn't match the receipt. However, I didn't care which ice-cream I received so I'm not holding that against this review.

We had the wrong order delivered to us. When we rang the first time, the person who answered the phone denied all knowledge of the order, second occasion he denied it again, after reentering my details he found my order and said he'd send the driver back. When I asked how long he would take, he said he couldn't tell me as it was too busy and hung up when I told him I would ring back if I hadn't heard back in 30 minutes (bearing in mind we had waited an hour for the food). It's a shame as we have ordered from here plenty of times and have never had any issues . Mistakes happen but there wasn't even an apology! Will wait and see how long it is before the right order is with us...

I ordered a large cod and expected as from any fish and chip shop to get 1 large piece of cod in batter, but instead I got 3 very small bits of fish all with thick soggy batter and one piece was definitely haddock not cod. I also ordered salt and pepper squid but again had a really think soggy batter on it

Really, really disappointing all round. Food was so late, we were sure it wasn’t being delivered at all. Couldn’t get through to the restaurant at all. We were alerted by the app that the food was out for delivery just after 9pm but didn’t get to us til gone 10pm. The quality was honestly quite awful and barely warm. Just ultimately disappointing and the only reason we ate it is because we were so hungry by this point. Certainly won’t be ordering again.

The chicken wasn’t great tasting, slimy and hardly any breast meat

When the food finally arrived it was luke warm and the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. The fish tasted stale, the scampi was barely recognisable and the chips appeared to be the dregs of the fryer. There were very few edible chips, the rest being too hard to eat. We shall not be buying from Sidwell Fish & Chips again and certainly cannot recommend them.

The fish was very good quality, as were the chips, but the batter was oily and stodgy.

Both of the potions of chips was undercooked and not one person out of four had more than a couple chips before they couldn't eat them. Both sausages was dripping with grease also unedable. The only thing that got eaten was the veggie burger. I tried to call multiple times but never got an answer. Very unhappy customer.

I ordered haddock and chips and a savaloy, and got onion rings, a double burger with sauce all over it, large chips, a battered jumbo sausage with salad, and a battered minced beef pie?????I tried to ring the shop but nobody would answer.

Chips with vinegar and salt tasteless and look like they been shredded. Beef burger very poor quality without any taste even with spicy sauce with it. Fish box super oily. This is first time I have ever complained about the take away. Very disappointed.

Poor quality fish and chips. When a restaurant is primarily selling fish and chips (the clue is in the name), you would expect better. Tasted like "warm ups" and even the curry sauce was bland and tasteless. An expensive mistake on my part. Won't be using them again. Sorry. PS asked for plenty of salt and vinegar on them. Don't think that there was any used at all.

Lots of fish....next time will order the smaller portion.Dont bother with the kingsize. asked for it at 7, arrived at 6 but can live with that.

Delicious food as usual, only we didn't get our 2 curry sauces that were ordered. Tried calling the restaurant but couldn't get through, I understand that they were probably busy. Will still return as the food is always lovely, great food for great prices.

It was scheduled for 6.30...6.45....but arrived within 30 minutes I think of ordering....the delivery lad was very pleasant and complied with the requirements on note. Altogether very good service by Just Eat.

Delivered 45 minutes late yet just eat said it was already delivered and when we rang the restaurant to enquire, they effectively asked what do you want us to do about it and hung up the phone. Didn’t answer after that. Food turned up, just eat driver just as unhelpful and unbothered.

normally love takeaway from here but recently more often than not the food is turning up inedible. had to chuck it away yesterday absolutely disgusting curry sauce, dry and lumpy like a jelly! the chips were powdery?? shame it's not up to the standard it normally is.

This is the first time we have ordered from here. It was very tasty and the portion sizes are excellent value for money.

Yum! Great fish and chips, curry sauce and mushy peas. Lush after a couple of pints

Delivery guy apparently didn't show up. Restaurant remade the order fresh, and brought it to me themselves.
