The best restaurants in Haverfordwest: Castle Pembrokeshire West Wales

I had, quite possibly, the most delicious hash brown of my life here.

We stayed for one night on the Sunday special deal. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Lovely en-suite shower room with good hot shower. Both dinner and breakfast were very good with generous portions. It was an ideal place to stay to visit relatives in the area.

Went on a day out with a club from our local area and stumbled across this place as we were off for a little jaunt to the shops for a nose and passed this place with a sign outside offering a roast dinner for just under £7, we thought why not as you can't really go wrong with a roast dinner and compared to the price of the rest of the menu it seemed very reasonable! Walked in, friendly girl serving and bought a pint, should have guessed something was not quite right as there were about 4/5 customers in the place. The pint was not too clever which should have really set the bells in my head ringing and nobody else was eating there. Anyway, we both ordered the roast dinner, both of us went for mixed meat(turkey and pork were the offerings). Another very friendly staff member brought out the plated meals about 20 minutes later, quite a while considering the place was almost empty and we were greeted with a plate of very undercooked veg, grey looking meat and a bit of bistro like gravy which was not very plentiful to say the least. Basically, we ended up with leftover meat from Sunday's lunch offerings from 2 days previous, which we understand and how places make up for using excess from days before after working in similar jobs over the years but the cabbage, green beans and cauliflower on the plate with the meat was pretty much still raw! The mash was nice and little stuffing balls, ok but finished with bistro gravy!!!! Really, I'd like to know who was cooking as I think a 5 year old would have done better! And, I really need to trust my judgements more as we should have known that an empty pub in quite a bustling little place should have been a total giveaway to start with! Service was very pleasant and ok but food and beer need to be improved on drastically if this place wants to stay open as there are so many competitors sl close.

Am a regular customer of the takeaway service in the past bit after tonight no longer. The food was 35 minutes late and food was cold. Dont usually compain but this was my one meal of the day. Due to illness have ro rely on people to get my meals. The lady on the telephone was uninterested. Said i could have another meal but it would take a while. No refund offered. So disappointing

Went for lunch at this venue yesterday. Don't order the garlic mushroom starter as it's a rip off. Got one puny slice of bread with what would probably equate to about two button mushrooms and creamy sauce, although it tasted great, come on £7.95 for this. Previously had more value for money with the previous owners. The small plate ham & egg was very good though and the service off Gleisny was good as always.

Good coffee but otherwise not outstanding in friendliness or service

Staff are lovely, facilities are great, food is nice, room is clean and wifi is fast. Can't ask for more.

I ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered 1.2 miles away took them 70 minutes a tuna pizza that had tiny bit of tuna sprinkled on a chicken pizza that had 6 small pieces of chicken on burnt onion rings and when i called to ask where my food was they didnt answer the phone when finally it arrived i was given cold food with no appology.

OK....first of all you need to know that I made this review several years ago and just now realized that I had posted it to the WRONG Greyhound....my bad. Here is my review as posted.........Spent a night across the street at The Mariner Hotel after missing the ferry to Ireland down at Pembroke. Not sure where to eat so we stumbled across the street to The Greyhound Hotel for a bit of bar food. Started out in the pub that had a half dozen or so locals there drinking ale and watching football. I bought a round for the boys and the party was on. Very friendly and fun bunch of blokes that the wife and I very much enjoyed meeting and spending time with. After a couple of beers we went upstairs for a bite to eat, and the experience could not have been better! We both had the fish and chips, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the best meals I have ever had, and the price (about 8 pounds) was to die for (see photos), The fish was fresh, the batter was wonderful, the mushy peas were fresh and flavorful and the chips? Well they were hot and fresh and more than we could eat. The couple running it (he cooking and she serving) were a hoot, The place is very small and probably seats no more than 20 but several tables were filled with locals, and they were all very friendly and open. We went here for lunch and thought this cafe looked good from the outside. We are vegetarians so vegan food appeals to us. There was a good amount of space in the cafe, it had a relaxed atmosphere and the owner was very friendly. There was a good range on the menu, however I would have preferred to read the menu of a traditional card and not a tv screen as I felt we didn’t have enough time to muse through the food choices. Unfortunately, when we got our food (soup) it was not warmed through properly which obviously wasn’t great. I think this place has great potential but the final attention to detail isn’t there. We left feeling disappointed by the food but glad to see a vegan cafe on the high street in Haverfordwest West.

What a magnificent venue, totally unexpected interior that just had the wow factor. Then there was a first class menu offering a wide variety of delicious food backed up with excellent personal service. Visited for lunch and evening meal and didn’t want to leave. The lady behind the counter tried to charge me £1.49 for tap water, which is illegal in the UK... I hope she has her P45 coming to her very soon!

We have just had the most delicious takeaway ever, it's tasty, fresh, hot and quick delivery, tbh it's better than we've ever had at home (worcester). The chicken was just moist and fresh, the chow mein noodles were the same. Thank you so much when we stay again will definitely be ordering.

Unhappy customer in front of us said he had been waiting 15 mins to be served, our order included 2 drinks, we were only given 1 then the lady turned around and walked away. Expensive
