The best restaurants in St. Martins Caerphilly South Wales

Staff were great, apart from one woman that just stood scowling , she was quite unfriendly.

I needed a coffee and theirs is very good. The food is cooked before your eyes and the selection of raw food looked good, but I was not hungry.

The wait staff were lovely, the food was delicious and the drinks were very tasty. One concern though, we ordered a starter, a table close by ordered the same, their's had extra bread. I passed it off as it wasn't a big deal. But then I ordered the penne spezzatino and so did the table next to me. Mine had tiny cubes of beef in it, the table next to us had a piece of steak, sliced on top of the pasta. I heard both tables order, no one asked for any changes or extras so couldn't figure out why the same dishes were different across the tables?

I ordered a takeaway from Castle Gate via their website and one of the items I ordered was egg fried rice. I phoned up them immediately after ordering and said to the person to please not add onions to the egg fried rice. We were given the bag with the order and the waiter even said “no onions in the egg fried rice” as it said it on the order receipt stapled to the bag. I get home to find onions in the egg fried rice! They also mis-labeled the two curries we had ordered and both were flavourless, swimming in oil and not very nice to eat. No I didn’t call to complain about it because it took over an hour from order to collection after waiting in the restaurant for 20 minutes and I didn’t want to have to wait any longer to just eat my dinner. Disappointing as we knew it had won a lot of rewards but we would not come back ever again.

First time back at Great Wall since they changed premises but I'm glad to be back. I have been using another for last 2 years but I found since it changed hands recently its not been as good, so needed a chage. I placed a pretty big order over phone for family of four to be picked up, the wait in shop was was a good 10 mins longer than told but not the end of the world. Shop was busy so that's a good thing!! Food was very good, rice's were cooked excellently and not stodgy in any way. Mains included Kung Po chicken, Cantonese chicken and chicken satay stir fry chow mean, all were excellent Chicken balls were very well cooked, not over battered or oily and great to have a proper big pancake roll with meat in for a change (not those poxy little things a lot of places now offer instead) Very happy and will continue with custom.

Decent pizza could have had more flavours and thickness. The dough took me back to the 90s and reminded me of the pizza they used to give at primary school in the 90s. The potato wedges were the perfect side, adding a nice crunch to the mix and would go back to get the 90s vibe back.

These were my ‘loaded’ fries😂 paid an extra £3.50 with my meal deal to have them. Shocking to say the least

Do something about your delivery system, I work in fast food myself and every time I order from you guys you get something wrong. And each time it’s getting worse, this time when I ordered I got a completely different subway sandwich. And was missing the other half of my order. I never write bad reviews but your store has done this to me so many times I feel I am being forced to write this review in the hopes you see this and do something to ensure your staff are actually checking the orders when they pack them. Please sort it out

amazing fish and chips i have ever tested 👌 best fish and chips shop 💯 If you are looking for best fish or best chips you should definitely visit here. Very good food quality and very friendly staff as well.

"Escape to the 1920s" for a "premium drinking experience" encourages the website. The photos depict a cosy, sophisticated location. So we were excited for our visited. On arrival, a gigantic TV screen was blasting the rugby match to the extent that it was difficult to hold a conversation. This wasn't mentioned when I booked. So not 1920s, not immersive, not cosy, not relaxed, not transported to a time gone by. Just generally not the atmosphere that is advertised.

Fantastic meal tonight so tasty and excellent service. We will be back. The fact you can take your own alcohol is a bonus. But the food alone would encourage us back

Food was good, prices are really competitive. Ieuan and the staff were incredible and really make this pub a fantastic place to eat and relax. Fundaysunday
