Hadn’t been here for a long time as the food wasn’t good, I’d heard good reports now so I ventured in, my god what a pleasant surprise, the fish and chips were amazing, the shop was clean and bright and the price of £10 was ok as the portion was really generous
We booked these for the evening do of my brothers wedding. They turned up late in a car (no pizza van) then left without the decency to speak to any of the wedding party.
Wouldn’t answer any calls or messages leaving us with 140 guests without food.
Still awaiting a reply or explanation and the to date, no return of the £480 we paid!
Ridiculously unprofessional and thoughtless.
I’d be extremely cautious when booking these
Have been wanting to try this place for a while. Last night myself and my husband got the opportunity to do so and it by far and away exceeded my expectations!
The menu is varied, as a seafood restaurant is of course predominantly fish, but they cater broadly too, with duck, steak and chicken dishes also available. But of course I’d gone to a seafood restaurant with the name “The Seahorse” so it without doubt that my order would be fish.
I’d booked a table (which on arrival I was especially glad I had done, as the restaurant is a small one). Our sever greeted us warmly and we were shown to our table.
My starter was scallops with black pudding. Wow! Perfect. The portion size was exactly what you’d want from a starter.
My main was pesto and cheese stuffed salmon. Perfect also. No bones in the fish as you occasionally get with fish. It was a good portion size.
My husband enjoyed his dishes too, (also pictured).
The restaurant is family friendly, and appeared to have a highchair, and is dog friendly too, having a bed for the canine family members!
The service is excellent. Our server was attentive, asking if we wanted drinks between courses without us having to ask for them.
Can’t wait to return and am sorry I didn’t visit sooner!
We came for an evening meal. The atmosphere was great inside and the pub was decked out for Halloween. The food was lovely and had a real home cooked feel. Great pie with lovely veg and we also enjoyed the burger and tasty starters. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and this was gratefully appreciated as one of us had a little struggle getting in the door with a mobility scooter. So we’d like to say a thank you!
We would love to return.
Hotel was a disgrace very dark and very rundown furniture was appalling .breakfast was from 8am till 9am no need to rush down for breakfast food was awful .no staff on just a young girl and it look like she was doing it all .the hotel needs a complete renovation we would not recommend
We had a lovely bottle of wine in our first evening and the ambience was great.
So we booked a meal.
Got to the restaurant on time to find that our booking was not booked at all.
We were so upset as we were even given the choice of tables when we booked.
As it was festival weekend we couldn’t get in anywhere else and our evening was spoilt
Been a few times but this year definitely gone down hill! Went in for coffee and cake, wasn't busy but took 10 mins to be served, I wanted to buy something to eat in and some cakes to take out, was told had to pay separate till can't understand why? It's same place generally the food standard has gone down big style definitely would avoid shame as used to be amazing
