On our journey home from north Wales we called in at The Lost Arc for lunch.
It is a lovely, unusual place; a cafe with real character.
We sat outside in the lovely garden.
Draft beer and lager was available which delighted my husband and sons.
The food was delicious. Pulled pork flatbreads and rolls (plus vegetarian options) soup and a daily special. I chose quiche and salad, which was excellent along with all of our meals.
There are cakes and ice creams available. In the evening there’s oven fired pizzas and the venue hosts live events.
The added extra was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. Everyone appeared happy in their work and were lovely to us.
Nearby there is a woodland walk along the river Wye.
On arrival our table had to be cleared and set up which wasn't the best way to start. Once we had ordered our food we then had over an hour's wait. By the time it arrived we didn't feel that hungry.
The salmon came with new potatoes, however, these were black in places, warmed up and inedible...my friend's steak was a combination of medium rare and over done!
Think the problem stemmed from the fact there had been a 40th birthday party earlier and the two staff were struggling to cope with everything. If we had been informed of the large group, we would have rebooked.
Not a great experience and probably won't be returning.
We went in as a family of 5 with a wheelchair (having to turned back from another pub which we couldn't get the chair in). We loved it from the moment we walked in - the SA flag on the wall did help, as the well as the Halloween decorations - madly busy but fantastic fun.
The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food, although a long wait , it was exceptionally fantastic - obviously made to order too!
Look forward to returning, hopefully at Christmas.

I have to assume that Hennighan's is so good they had to open a second shop to keep up with the demand. I drive an hour each way once a month for this. If I lived nearer then I'd be far fatter than I am.
We were staying in the Cardigan area and came across Coracle Fish & Chips. So pleased we did the food was really lovely. Fantastic freshly cooked fish and what I would call proper chips. 100% recommended
We having been visiting this cafe for many years now,and guess what.................
Better than ever!
Simon has it down to a fine art, food is always good ,Clair and the staff very pleasant and helpful.
See you all soon(with little doggies Bobby and Alfie too) !
We visited Llanon for the weekend for a bit of r&r.
We visited the pub for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. The food and service were lovely, can't wait to return.
