An amazing experience everytime we visit this beautiful pub. So clean and welcoming. The food is amazing! Home cooked food that you can tell is presented with passion from chef Annete! Perfect pints poured from Mark and a great selection of spirits combined with friendly locals and visitors alike. Karaoke night with stunning renditions from the chef and KitchenNet (Billie) made for an evening of great entertainment with everyone joining in and very much enjoying themselves... Highly recommend this place!

Absolutely love The Red Lion Inn. Everyone from the amazing staff to the incredibly friendly locals are beyond amazing. We've been all over Wales and this area is somewhere we would be happy and proud to call home, and this place to be our local. Couldn't have been any more hospitable and Billie was phenomenal! An incredible lady who we would be proud to call a friend. Thank you all Paul, Emma &Betty the Welsh Collie xxx

⭐️ Couldn’t rate this place higher! Mark & Annette have clearly poured their heart and soul into their business. A very quaint and sweet pub, from the decor to the exposed original stone, they have made The Red Lion at Ffosyffin a really welcoming place to be. We visited for food around 6pm on a Tuesday evening when visiting the area, and what can we say!! The food was piping hot, extremely tasty and in a generous portion. The chips were sensational! We had our large dog and 11month old baby with us, and Mark and the team couldn’t have been more welcoming and attentive to our needs. Even he and the locals were waving and talking to Woody (our baby) while we ate! Facilities were of a high standard, really clean & lovely to see. Baby change in the disabled toilet was top notch and all facilities smelt and looked really clean. Overall a wonderful eatery and pub, would highly recommend visiting to anyone nearby or passing through - don’t forget to order the apple crumble 😀! We can’t wait to see you all again next time, Matt, Char, Woody & Joey 🐾

Always planned to call in this pub after it was refurbished as we go past regularly on the way to our lodge in New Quay, lovely conversion, great bar area, modern spotless toilets, great real ale on pulls and a lovely beer garden, plus a vintage BSA to drool over and best of all run by a very welcoming couple from my birth town of Wolverhampton We will definitely be calling in again and will be trying out the food which looks wonderful

Having recently paid a visit to The Red Lion in Ffoss Y Ffinn we were welcome by the owner who made us feel extremely welcome It was spotless clean and decorated to a very high standard with pleasing decorative pictures and interesting and beautiful ornaments to accommodate its surroundings The toilets were immaculate and the beer garden was such a joy to sit in with wonderful foliage and an abundance of flowers We had food which was 5star and were made sure we had all the condiments required. Nothing was too much trouble! This pub is a must if your local or just passing through as its on the coastal road so its easy to find. What a find, we will certainly be visiting there again.

Beautifully decorated pub, welcoming staff, chilled out music and atmosphere was great. Dog friendly inside the pub. The food was amazing. We had the chicken curry, hunters chicken and children’s chicken and chips. The chips were big chunky chips. Everything tasted homemade. Small menu which I prefer as it shows they put effort into what they cook. I had the bread and butter pudding and custard for dessert and it was so good. All plates were empty at the end. Reasonably priced and the potions were plenty. Highly recommend this pub. The gentlemen behind the bar was so welcoming and the lady who served us food was lovely and spoke to my daughter with ease. Great service all round.

A non-themed pub with not much going on. An excellent Sunday roast provided which was the main purpose of our visit. The wife loves her Sunday lunch. Very pleasant service. Surprised there was no lamb on the menu but hey ho, what was served was exactly what she wanted. Especially when she found Apple Crumble and Custard on the sweet menu.

Wife wanted a Sunday roast. Rang the Red Lion this morning. Booked a table, no issue. Turned up at the appropriate time. Food on the table in 10 minutes. Excellent meal accompanied by a large glass of wine and an Apple Crumble with Custard pudding... result one happy wife; one peaceful Sunday afternoon for me with no complaints about the football being on. Service fast, efficient and pleasant. 100% recommend. Great old fashioned non-themed have a beer and food pub. Weird opening hours for a tourist town but I guess the owners know better than me when their clientele want the pub open. P.S. the strawberry sundae is absolutely superb.

This pub visit is a must. We visit this area every Easter and it was great to see it has re opened with a high end refurbishment bringing back its real true heritage with warm comfortable traditional pub furnishings. With the most welcoming staff & local atmosphere we called in most days / evenings during our stay and had a chat with all. Lovely real ales, large gin selections and although we didn't eat at the time the menu and food looked 5 star with all tables being booked. It really made our relaxing holiday so pay them a visit when in the area as you won't be disappointed. Booking for food advisable but still room to call in for a drink.

Have been in FOUR times, the first we were welcomed with a booklet of the renovations and made to feel VERY welcome, the second we talked to the landlord about leatherwork and his previous life and made to feel welcome, the third we were the only one's in and anticipating another friendly chat but this time we were ignored and grunted at, (he'd forgotten who we were) and we feel we were given a short measure of wine, the fourth, the same attitude persisted so rest assured, we won't be back. Consistency is the name of the game, landlord!

I live very closely to this pub, & have watched, eagerly, as the new owners totally refurbished it - & the job they did is totally first class! I was able to pop in, with family, for a quick drink, soon after it opened, & was immediately welcomed by the new hosts. The pub, itself, has-been beautifully refurbished, with an attention to detail that is amazing. Everything has been done to a wonderful quality, & everywhere I looked, there was something interesting to see, both interesting, & quirky - just my type of place!. The seating was grouped nicely, with a mixture of comfy chairs, & wooden benches, with cushions placed for comfort. I had a lovely latte, as I don't drink alcohol, but my family were served pints, that they thoroughly enjoyed, & which were well priced, too - & very tasty, they told me! Lol There was no food served there, at that time, but I think that will be happening soon - something I very much look forward to, living as closely as I do to it. The whole atmosphere in the pub, is cosy & welcoming, with enough nooks & crannies to keep things nicely intimate, without having to literally rub shoulders with your fellow imbibers. There is also a lovely beer garden at the back of the pub, which will be a wonderful spot to sit in sunny weather. I watched all the work done to create this, plus the parking area, & the new owners have done an excellent job with everything! There was a brand new block of toilets built, attached to the pub (the previous block, there, meant that customers had to brave all kinds of weather, especially in colder times). I didn't actually go in there, but have been told that it's been set up very nicely - so, if I do have occasion to need a visit, I'll update this review! 🤣 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . UPDATE: I've been back to the Red Lion four times since they opened, now - that's a record for me! Lol The first time was for the very first Sunday Lunch that was served there, & I had what must be the tastiest Roast Turkey Dinner, with ALL the trimmings, that I've had in years. The portion size was so ample, that I ended up taking half of it home with me - my visiting daughter finished it off for me Lol You have to book ahead for a place on Sundays, though, as they proved to be REALLY popular! The second time I visited, was on a Friday lunch time, when I was feeling well enough to pop over there for lunch. I had a basket meal of two fishcakes & chips. It's considered a reasonable portion for a quick lunch but, once again, I just couldn't finish it all - although I did manage to eat the two, very tasty, fish cakes that I'd ordered, & about six of the huge chips that were served with it - they all tasted so good! The third time, my family came to visit me, so we popped over for a meal together, & I had the tastiest Vegetarian Lasagne that I've ever had, apart from my daughter's - I think the Red Lion's Lasagne beat her version, as much as I love it! Lol Once again, the portions in our meals were very generous - we all ordered something different from the menu - but I actually finished most of mine, as it just tasted too good not to. I couldn't fit that last bit in, no matter what, though! Lol The last time I went over to the Red Lion, it was to join my neighbours in a quiz night - I believe these are going to be a regular thing! The pub was packed with people , & the quiz made it a fun night, with everyone taking it well if they lost. I even amazed myself at actually answering some of the questions right! Lol This quiz was a fundraiser, too, & I look forwards to joining in with more of them, as & when I'm able to! I can see the Pub becoming a real hub of the village now. The owners are wonderfully hospitable, & they're doing everything they can to entertain their customers, with a regular Open Mike night, various live singers, & many more things being planned for next year. I wish Annette & Mike all the best in their endeavour, as they deserve it, with all the hard work they've put in on the Pub! ♥️

We were in the Red Lion today and had a lovely time. Beautiful place, friendly and kind staff, clean and pristinely refurbished 200 year old structure. We were traveling from Mumbles to Aberystwyth and were a bit peckish and ready for a break. We arrived around 1600 and they weren't serving food until 1700. We decided to have a quick half pint and continue our journey. The proprietor told us that they were in the process of prepping for dinner and might be able to serve us a bit earlier. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. We had a nice chat with patrons and the proprietor. Would definitely be my local if I lived in the area. Will stop here any time I am passing through.
