Little Italy in Ceredigion

You know your gonna get good quality food when you visit Little Italy with generous portions. Can be quite loud there sometimes as it has wooden floors. Perhaps sound dampners on wall would be beneficial. Would reccomend to book a few weeks ahead.

Very nice food and a friendly service. Reasonably priced as well. The only EBI would be the table wasn’t ready when we arrived even though we booked. Otherwise all good.

An absolute GEM of a restaurant! Upon arrival a friendly and lovely member of staff called Eve met us and immediatly we felt like this was going to be a great visit. Eve was friendly and had a smile on her face. We were sat down upstairs, and quickly our drink order was taken. The menu was filled with lovely items and we had to ask for a bit more time to decide because that many items looked lovely. We eventually ordered and the food came out pretty quickly, given the fact the place was fully booked with ZERO tables left! We went for a garlic bread with cheese to share to start. This was hand made, lovely amount of garlic and cheese. Not too over powering, and wasn't greasy as some often are. I then went for the tagliatelle pasta with Fillet Steak strips. I asked about the sauce as it mentioned mushrooms, and I was told they were present but could be removed, and so I asked for this. We also got a portion of chips. My wife got a Penne Pasta with a creamy sauce. The food was out of this world! Everything tasted so fresh, and was seasoned to perfection. The whole evening was out of this world, and I'm glad I booked a table. You will need to book in advance as it is only small, but very cosy. Once again, a massive massive thank you to Eve, she was a credit to the restaurant and deserves praise! When we come back to Aberystwyth, we WILL 110% be returning.

Top dollar reception. Warm and friendly greeting in this very busy country style restaurant. Nice choice of wine and we both had an excellently prepared and presented meal. Perfectly cooked in a first class little bistro style restaurant. My advice is go but book. This is well loved operation much appreciated by people who are looking for good service fine food and served and operated and is highly used. Thank you little italy. You are excellent from beginning to end. See you soon no doubt of that.

Been here twice now over a 12 month period. The last time I travelled 140 miles in a round trip just to eat here for an anniversary. Probably the best place I've ever eaten.. Hey it's just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

We booked Little Italy for a family meal as we were dropping our daughter at Uni but as she ditched us for her new flatmates we decided to make it our wedding anniversary meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and cocktails were excellent. If you want simple but tasty Italian food then this is the place and we will be visiting again. I would say you need to book as it was very busy.

I cannot even express to you the level of pure euphoria the food from this place transported me to. This is the type of food you would ask for if you were entering onto death row, it’s is absolutely phenomenal and I cannot recommend this enough. The atmosphere was cosy and quaint and the service was quick even though it was quite busy. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Had 3 pizza and 3 drinks. The pizza bases were very thin... like 2 x flour tortilla wraps on top of each other. The toppings were very minimal... almost like they were rationing them. The ham pizza had like 1 piece of ham on it that was cut into pieces. The staff were all nice. The restaurent decor was nice. Drinks priced fairly. Overall i was disappointed with the pizzas though. For £15 ish per pizza you want a decent pizza with a good base and good amount of toppings.

Great authentic Italian food, loved it all

Booked here from the online reviews, for our first wedding anniversary while staying in the area. Excellent service with Excellent Food. Lovely atmosphere. Couldn't fault anything. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. Very busy but all the staff were brilliant Will definitely recommend to anyone coming to Aberystwyth. And we will most certainly be coming back.

Booked a table 3 nights ago for tonight, turned up they were under pressure, said they were under pressure and we didn’t have a. Poking! Cheeky head woman asked to see the phone that we called off so she could check we had called there and not somewhere else!! 3 days ago pet we have made many calls! Also we didn’t have my friends phone with us, we said we were happy to sit have a drink until space available but she asked us to wait in the street until she decided if they could accommodate us, she then referred to many travelers trying this trick!! There was two of us we had booked!! Her attitude is a joke

Beautiful restaurant with a charming cozy atmosphere. All the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Great wine and drink selection.

This place is wow!! The staff (all female) give you such a warm welcome and service throughout your time, that the experience is elevated to another level. The options of Italian wines are plenty and the restaurant feels so cozy. The food is authentic, a bit expensive. Although the portion size of the appetisers are a bit small, the mains are fairly good. All the dishes look tempting when they are being served to others so its very difficult to decide what to eat, but we ended up ordering a pasta and a pizza to have the taste of both. With the lights and cozy vibe, its a perfect dinner spot. Would advise booking in advance as its usually fully booked on the weekends.

Pizzas, service and atmosphere feels authentic but feels too pricey.

We arrived without a booking and the place was full. We were asked to have a drink at the bar and wait and we are glad we did. The food /pasta was excellent the service super friendly and ambience traditional Italian cosy and ro mantic. We couldn't find anything else half decent open and so happy we stumbled across this gem.

Beautiful Italian food in Aberystwyth! We went twice and both times were absolutely delicious, we loved the specials and the starters, and had a good pasta and pizza too. Thank you for fitting us in!

Food is amazing and I’ve tried quite a few different things off the menu, they also catered for my son who is quite fussy, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are so lovely and friendly. I would definitely recommend eating here.

My wife had the best free-from pizza ever. I was convinced they got the order wrong - the base was that good. The ravioli is absolutely astounding. So tasty. I had it for my starter and immediately regretted ordering pizza for my main instead of the ravioli. Thankfully, the pizza was fantastic. The staff were very good. They immediately replaced used cutlery from my starter and replaced the tea-light candle shortly after it burnt out. I just gutted they don't open for lunch. I can't go again before we leave for home.

Very friendly and attentive service with fair prices for meals. However the food is unfortunately not authentic and just average. Here some examples. Garlic,Garlic,Garlic: An an authentic italian restaurant would never put garlic everywhere. Chicken Pasta: Absolute No-Go! Never chicken with pasta in an authentic italian restaurant. Spaghetti Bolognese: Please use Tagliatelle or Pappardelle as pasta type. According to chefs from Bologna, spaghetti is the worst type for bolognese as the meat wont hold good on Spaghetti. Carbonara No leeks and surely not cream. Also garlic is not needed. Use fresh Eggs, Guanciale and Pecorino. Pancetta and Parmigano if you can not find the other ingredients. Pizza The pizza was ok, but i didnt get the style. It is not an napoletan pizza nor an roman style pizza. It was more a thin flat bread than a Pizza. I believe the dough did not rest either and was not made with Typo 00 flour with a high W-Value. At all a solid 3/5. We also appreciated the atmosphere. Improvement: I hope they can espacially improve their food (quality/authentic) in future. Because i believe the meals are made with love, but unfortunately not with the right technique/ingredients.

I have wanted to go here for so long and finally did. The food was incredible and fresh, the price is good for what you get and the service is second to none. Will be returning! X

Loverly little place with even lovelier food.

I come back to Little Italy every couple of months and I'm always amazed at how good the food quality is. The atmosphere is super chill, perfect for a date, anniversary or dinner with parents (just please don't talk annoyingly loudly in such relaxing restaurant). The staff is going above and beyond to help with orders and wines selection. I personally prefer sitting upstairs, but the whole restaurant will take you away from the Aberystwyth boredom. I recommend all pizzas and meatball tomato pasta! All desserts are delicious 😋 reasonably priced and has to be booked in advance as tables fill in quickly ☺️

We have been coming here for dinner every so often and we have never ever been disappointed. The place is always very busy but the staff are attentive and always happy to answer questions about the menu. Highly recommend.

Nice no nonsense restaurant with bags of atmosphere. The food was good, the wine list reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and looked like they were enjoying their job. We are just passing through, if I stayed in this town Little Italy would be a regular haunt.

Authentic pizzas with rich sweet tomato sauce. Every pasta dish crafted beautifully with love.

All quickly and freshly made to order. Reasonable pricing and well worth a visit but book in advance as it seems to be very busy as it should be.

We went to this restaurant for my birthday a few years ago and been meaning to leave a review. Can honestly say it was the best Italian I've ever been too and can't wait to come back! The food was amazing and you couldn't fault the service at all. A true slice of Italy!

A lovely meal as always. Last visited nearly 20years ago, and the memories came flooding back. Well worth a visit either for a nostalgic trip or a first time visit.

Every aspect from booking a surprise meal for my wifes birthday to leaving after some lovely food and perfect service made the whole evening fantastic. I had popped in the previous day with flowers which were delivered to our table with perfect timing. 100% recommended, will return again and again. Thank you.

Food bland poor seasoning . Very small portions. Despite booking in advance for 8 table would not accommodate 8 would seat 6 therefor when food arrived it was impossible to eat . Solution was to whip table away from another couple mid meal! Very embarrassing spoiled a family night out. Would not return or recommend.

Nothing little about this place. Big & beautiful. Nikki is a great host, very friendly engaging staff. Greeted with a smile, drinks at the bar if your table is not quite ready. We dine here once or twice a month with family & are never dissappointed. Superb Negroni's & Martini's. Good wine list to fit every budget. A great menu, Pasta Gamberi is a hit. Looking forward to the next visit.

Simply delicious w/great service. We showed up without a reservation and we’re lucky that there was a table available in 10 minutes. I would recommend having a reservation now. They were very commentating and we enjoyed a drink prior to moving to our table. We ended up sharing a large house salad and splitting a pasta entrée called tagliatelle supreme. Absolutely delicious. Nicola, our server was incredible.

Excellent Italian restaurant. The best pizza I've had since being in Rome over 30 yes ago. Small restaurant, but wonderfully presented, clean and warm. Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Highly recommended

Really lovely evening, such a cosy and unique restaurant with a really intimate atmosphere. The food was amazing, one of the best lasagnas I’ve ever had! The service was excellent and attentive, Derby did a really great job and made some excellent recommendations really making the night special. Would be worth four hour round trip to come back to Aberystwyth just for another meal like that! 🥰

Well what can I say about the wonderful Little Italy? A lot really. We went once more on Friday 12th April.The restaurant is old and full of character, the hard working team of staff are polite, attentive and always make you feel special. The food is absolutely delicious, freshly made and presented with care. This is one special place for Aberystwyth. We have been going there when we have been in Aber for the last two years.The only downside for us is it’s a four hour drive from home otherwise we would be going most weeks. Heartfelt thanks to all involved. Always busy so make sure you book in advance if you can.

Pasta, pizza, token gesture of meatveg offering. Any good Italian restaurant only needs a simple menu. Sadly the options we ate were not flavoursome. Bland pizza, poor base sauce, tasteless base. The sauce on my chicken was lovely but the chicken was dry, wrong potato option was brought to the table. Waitress shrugged her shoulders, left it on the table.

This is the first time I am writing a review while sitting in the restaurant and still eating. And the service by Laura was super super super. One of the best Italian food I have had ever. The staff was helpful and friendly, we went for a meal prior to a theatre performance and they were very accommodating about our slightly early arrival, it was just a little cool in the room but warmed up as the place filled with other diners. We really enjoyed our food, a vegetarian pasta dish and a steak for my more food conservative partner. Everything was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. We went during the week and by the time we left the restaurant was full which is always a good indicator of a welcoming place with good food.

My husband and I met at Aber back in 1997 and were back to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary! Atmosphere and food still great, and friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. It was nice to see it so busy on a chilly Monday night in March.

What a find! Delicious authentic Italian food in a cosy, buzzy little restaurant with super-friendly staff. The crab ravioli starter from the specials menu was perfect and the pizzas amongst the best we've had outside of Italy. The kerb-appeal leaves a bit to be desired and the cocktails expensive for what they were but these are minor quibbles. Will definitely return.

Had a lovely Valentine's dinner here with my girlfriend, service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Starters were amazing, good portions, wide selection of starters, mains and deserts. Valentine's specials were delicious especially the mains and the cocktails. Highly recommend!

A great and comfortable place to meet up with my daughter, who's at Uni. This is our go to place in Aber. Good people, nice food, nice atmosphere.

Not been here for a while and was disappointed. Platter starters very underwhelming tiny slivers of food and an inch of bread. Pizza was luke warm and floppy with about 3 olives on which were extra. Vegetarian tomato pasta main was at best average lacking any real flavour. Meat versions seemed better but as a vegetarian didn’t try. Would have given 1 star but staff were great and food came out in a reasonable time.

This place is the only Italian restaurant in Aber really, despite the cost ambience it really isn't somewhere I would recommend to anyone. I had a tomato based pasta dish and I absolutely could have made it better myself at home, very thin sauce. I won't go again to this overpriced restaurant.

Fantastic place, very cozy and the staff were lovely. However the fettuccine boscaiola was a bland and tasteless, sauce was just runny cream. The tiramisu was lots of cream and little else and didnt taste much of anything. Really disappointed and expensive.

We were a group of four friends who had booked an evening meal at the restaurant. The food was simply excellent from start to finish as was the ambience and friendly service provided. Highly recommended if you're in Aberystwyth.

Ate out three nights in a row in Aberystwyth last week in different restaurants. I liked this one the best. Food was very nice, nice ambiance and service was excellent. Couldn’t fault it really. Plan to go again next time we are in Aberystwyth.

We finally were able to obtain a booking, as it was fully booked every time before. Not the fault of 'Little Italy", of course. So we (5 people) were finally able to visit. It looked a great atmosphere, when entering, and we were welcomed friendly, after which we were guided to our table. Enough space for us 5. It was nicely cosy crowded. The menu was handed over and it needed some Time to study as everything appeared mice. Additionally a small day-addition menu was handed over too. We ordered a champagne to start, a Pol Roger Reserve, with a nice soft, but pleasant taste. To start I had opted for the Prawn, Crab & Lobster Ravioli form the day-card. This was served with 2 cuts of baguette and served with some herbs and chilli's. It tasted very nice, For main I had chosen the Penne Arrabbiata, a lightly spiced penne. The penne was served 'al dente' but too 'al dente' for me (as you can see on the picture, the paste is still very 'sharp' & round shaped, also dark coloured). For me, boiling 2-3 minutes longer would have improved the experience/taste very much. A pity. The added sauce was great, not fat and very full. With the main dishes, I had opted for a Rocca, Negroamaro, Salento, 2021 and we also ordered a Pecorino Colline Pescaresi. Both wines, the red and the white tasted good with the food. The red one was full bodied and with a lot of taste. The white one was subtle and complex, but fresh. I did not choose anything to eat for dessert, but choose a Galliano, a Vanilla-Anise liquor. This obviously tasted as it should taste, very nice. The service was very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant visit and we will not hesitate to return, when an opportunity turn up.

We managed to get a table last minute - which is rare for this place as they are often fully booked so have to thank the staff for squeezing us in. The food, the service, the restaurant - all top-notch! Highly recommend this place - but do book in advance.

We have been here a few times over the yrs, including twice for my birthday. We live nearly 90 miles away. So stay over, especially just to come here. We love it.

Fantastic little restaurant with great atmosphere and the most delicious food. Service was friendly and attentive without being too in-your-face. Ate downstairs on Sunday - just a few tables and a quiet, romantic air. Liked it so much we went back on Monday and ate upstairs, where the atmosphere is livelier but still cosy. I recommend most highly.

Came here with partner for 2 year anniversary, she had chicken fettuccini I had montradini, we shared a cheesy garlic bread, all very nice and reasonable prices. Only issue was our table was very small so we had to squeeze our dishes and drinks together Tetris style. Otherwise would definitely come again 👍
