The best restaurants in St. Mary Powys Mid Wales

Came across this cafe and decided to go in as they were okay with dogs. First impressions were the decor wasn't my thing but that's just me... You might like it! The majority of the place looked clean, however there were a few points me and my partner noticed; the covers for the chairs were very dirty and it wasn't fresh dirt either. The salt, pepper and sugar pot on the table were visibly dirty so we weren't really comfortable using them tbh. I didn't find the place great value for money, it was overpriced for what it was but the breakfast was cooked well so I have no complaints on the food quality but it didn't fit the price. The drinks however were below par, almost £4 for a flat white and it was shocking; worst coffee I've ever had as it was pretty much all milk. Would I visit again if I was in Brecon? Probably not, and I'd probably be happier with popping in the coffee1 for a snack and save abit of money.

Called in the night before Xmas eve and had the tastiest and hot (temperature and spice) Indian food. Highly recommended.

Went here for our annual family Christmas get together. Had the Sunday lunch carvery. Food was fantastic. Melt in the mouth roast beef and freshly cooked large variety of veg. Great value for money. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

IT WAS NOT TERRIBLE BUT . . . . . . having checked their website before leaving Cheltenham to check that the café was open that day and driven 50+ miles it was very annoying and disappointing to find it was CLOSED. The gentleman mowing the front lawn (possibly the owner or manager) replied to my disappointment saying "Oh, yes, I must get around to changing it (the website)".

We’ve visited nearby Llangorse for the last 5 years and always come for a meal at this pub. Very friendly welcoming landlord and good food reasonably priced. The real ale is excellent too! Highly recommended.

A nice range of good value food well prepared and presented by friendly staff who were proactively helpful to customers. Menu included breakfast before 11:30 as well as sandwiches, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes, soup and specials on offer. Am hoping to go back soon.

The owners obviously love Greece and all things Greek. Their menu is quite small but there are authentic, tasty items available.

Called in to the Cafe today for the first time. What a little gem of a place. Very friendly staff and very professional. Food is excellent with a good choice of vegan and intolerance friendly on the menu. Give The Cafe a try. You won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be going back...

Such a lovely experience in this pub. The staff were lovely, actually got to know us to the point they poured our drink order as they saw us walk through the door! A real home/family feel. Shame it doesn't do food but they let you take in food from other places.

Wow - what a great place! On previous visits I hadn't been sure whether to visit (all down to my perception from the outside), but I'm so glad we did. Good choices of breakfast which were incredibly good value and large! I had the veggie with a side of crispy bacon - probably the best Glamorgan sausages I've ever had, and the bacon was perfect. Service was so friendly, even to asking me if my bacon was done as much as I wanted it. Have been to other breakfast places in Brecon on previous visits and had given up on getting a good breakfast, but this is the only place for us from now on!
