We’ve visited nearby Llangorse for the last 5 years and always come for a meal at this pub. Very friendly welcoming landlord and good food reasonably priced. The real ale is excellent too! Highly recommended.

We were staying in nearby Llangorse but made the short journey here as other closer options were closed or not serving food. We are very glad we did - really welcoming and friendly, relaxed atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend if you are in the area

We stopped in for dinner at the Black Cock Inn. Menu not bad at all, food was very good and cooked to order, great ale and the staff were very friendly. If you’re passing by then definitely drop in !

Lovely warm welcome from the landlord who made us feel very valued. Food was cooked fresh to order, great portion sizes and reasonably priced. All in all a very pleasant evening. We'd definitely come back here to eat and will definitely recommend !

Absolutely fantastic food, we had the chicken and steak, it was cooked to perfection and we had never had such a nice meal. The staff are very friendly. The building itself was decorated lovely, and give a cosy atmosphere. We can say that this will be our new local for food and drinks.

One of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. We have been recommending and returning on a regular basis. The gravy is awesome. Tops off a fabulous traditional roast. As good as your granny would always make 👍

We popped in whilst holidaying at the Lakeside caravan Park in llangorse. The inside is very modern, the staff are so friendly. Denise who is the chef spent some time talking to our children (4 and 7) about Goblins, which they loved. We ordered lasagne and chips, steak and chips and curry for the adults. All absolutely delicious. Such brilliant home cooked food. Big portions and excellent value. We would highly recommend this place. What a lovely family run pub. It is a must visit!

Myself, my partner, and our friends visited this pub for dinner and drinks whilst in the area and we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were very good, the staff were extremely accommodating and kind, and the I establishment was really nice. Thank you for your hospitality, we had a great evening.

We found this pub for dinner after horse riding. The staff were nice and very welcoming. I had the lasagne and I was very pleased with the quality and the taste. It was so delicious I wanted more! My brother had the Mac n Cheese which he said was amazing. The ice cream cake was humongous and so delicious I had to eat all of it :) Lovely place, lovely atmosphere and family friendly. I want to go back next time we go on holiday!

Can't fault my experience at the Blackcock Inn this evening. Popped in last moment for some food and a couple of drinks after a lovely 15 minute walk from our air B&B just up the road to hear they were fully booked for the evening. The lady working in the bar asked the chef if we could be squeezed in, to which he obliged and we were seated on a lovely country pub style table by the bar. We ordered a local pale ale and a chardonnay, both of which were outstanding, food arrived quickly and was above average in quality, for around a tenner a main, we were really pleased. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we'd recommend anyone who's a fan of independent country pubs with bags of character visit. Cheers 👍

We ordered a takeaway as we were staying at the Llangorse Lake campsite and didn't fancy going out. Overall the food was good - standard pub grub at a reasonable price. My boyfriend and I each had a curry which came with chips, rice and a poppadom for £10. The kids had a pepperoni pizza for £10 (I highly suspect this was a Chicago Town, but it came with two free cans of Coke) and hot and spicy chicken fillets and chips for £9 (not fillets, more like mini chicken strips or the crispy chicken you might order from a Chinese restaurant). Our meal was good and we all enjoyed. Not a bad choice if you can't be bothered to cook!

nice place been refurbed looks a little to clinical in the side we were in food was ok hot not a huge amount as a chef guessing not made onsite tastes and feels like prepacket stuff mostly like i say no complaints but average

I'm afraid the other reviews on Trip Advisor must be for a different venue. The food we were served all looked as though it came from an Iceland packet ( sorry Iceland, but at least you know what you are paying for) the prices are restaurant prices, but quality doesn't match it in any way. The meals were heated up or deep-fried, nothing had been 'cooked' on site. Really disappointing from a local country pub, with offerings like this no wonder so many locals are failing. We certainly wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone who is the area, I feel sorry for the locals who deserve better.

Fitted a big party of us in at last minute, very accommodating and food and service were both brilliant. We will definitely come back.

Hmm! Our eating experience here was very average. Out of 4 fish choices 2 were not available....we were eating at 7.30pm! Run out already? There was one choice only for my gluten intolerant partner. His homemade curry is far superior to the one on offer....

We stumbled across this pub by recommendation and what a treat it was ! Our server lee was so helpful and accommodating a real service with a smile . The food was top notch . We are very fulfilled ! Highly recommend!!

Seven of us had a wonderful time in the Black Cock last night. The ribeye and sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection and the entertainment provided by the Revd. Boxhall was brilliant. Staff made us feel at home. We can thoroughly recommend.

8 of us went for a Saturday night meal and were delighted to discover it was "steak night" where you get a free bottle of wine with 2 steak meals which suited us as 4 had steaks - all very satisfied from blue to medium.The ribs were good and I had the crispy prawn platter which was excellent and should move from specials board to main menu!There were lots of veggie options, though the veggie special was described as OK but nothing special and the chicken in peppercorn sauce was overdone and dry.These last two were a pity as 6 main meals were very good, the drinks were good and the dessert plates with 4 different ones tried all went back completely cleared.We will definitely return, possibly for the curry night which sounds great value and the curries coming out while we were there smelt and looked super

Debo decir que fue dudosa desde el comienzo, ya que sólo era mi pareja y yo allí y no cambiar durante la duración del almuerzo. Me dieron el menú, pero informaron que estaban fuera de carne de cerdo y el. Pedí una lasaña y mi otra mitad tenía jamón y patatas fritas. Le preguntamos a la persona por un huevo, que después de hacer el registro de entrada, no podíamos tener, ya que no tenían ninguna. Por lo tanto pedimos algo de pan y mantequilla, que nos dieron. Aparte de una buena porción de jamón, las comidas eran una decepción, sin duda no es una buena relación calidad-precio, 8.50 libras cada uno. Lasaña fue totalmente insípido. Yo estaba tan hambriento, pero tenía problemas para comer la mitad. Las patatas fritas eran sólo barato fry para 3 minutos que me había variedad para sumergirse en ketchup para tragar. Es una pena porque el pub es dentro de un entorno precioso pueblo. No puedo decir que volveríamos. Salí muy decepcionado

Éramos un grupo de 12 personas y necesitamos encontrar algo que comer en mitad de la semana y media de la tarde! El personal en este pub nos acogió con la apertura de brazos y era extremadamente complaciente! La comida era increíble, con el mejor curry que hemos tenido en un pub durante mucho tiempo!

Came across this place a years ago during a drive one sunny day. So glad we stopped and the food was great. Been back many times since especially on the curry nights. The welcome is lovely and staff are always so polite and helpful.
