Really special find Our group of eight walked to this pub sat by the river beautiful The decor of the pub is very tasteful and give lovely atmosphere drinks very affordable When some of our group couldn’t face walk back the drove us Amazing wish we could pick this pub up and bring back to Somerset

Visited Thursday evening Both ordered Beef and mushroom in mustard sauce .Meals A1 Beautifully prepared and presented.every thing red hot and fresh.Staff very pleasant and helpful.As for the premises spotlessly clean a credit to all .Prices very reasonable A little hidden unknown gem.Highly recommended

We popped in for drinks and dinner. Staff were really friendly and the pub was busy. We ordered the fajitas, chilli, chicken burger and gammon. All our food was hot and tasty and was reasonably priced. We’d go again 😊

My husband I were staying at a B&B close by and decided to eat here on our last evening, and we were so glad we did. It is lovely and modern and fresh inside with loads of lovely quotes throughout, which made us smile when we read them. We were the first in the restaurant until a family of three arrived so it was very quiet and very quick service. There was plenty of choice on the menu, I opted for curry and my hubby the peppered steak and both were lovely. We couldn’t resist the lemon and raspberry cheesecake so ordered one to share and it was delicious. The young lady behind the bar was very friendly. I would recommend this pub firstly for the wide selection on their menu and secondly the friendly service.

We came here for dinner after arriving in Sennybridge for a walking holiday with our dogs. This place is dog-friendly. Outside looks boring and old, but when you enter, there are large screen TVs and the decor is new. We were the only customers there on a Sunday evening at 6.30pm, so drinks were quick. There was no Guinness, so my husband had to contend with a Staropramen. There were no starters on the menu, so we ordered some small bites of cheesy garlic bread and chicken fillets. For mains, they did not have a number of dishes on the menu, therefore I had peppered beef instead and my husband had surf and turf. Quality of the food was average, a bit like oven food. The service was quick though, and our waiter was so friendly and lovely with our dogs that he would get 5 stars from us (if not for the food). All in all, lovely staff in a dog-friendly pub, but limited quality and variety of food and drink.

First time I’ve been In the aber in about 25 years and how things have changed. It’s beautiful, the food was spot on and I’m very fussy but we will definitely be going back there. Was hoping to see an old friendly face but I think she was cooking but hopefully next time. The service was fab, staff were lovely so 10/10 from me and the hubby

Excellent food during a short stay in Sennybridge! Recommend the vegetable fajitas, really good value for money and friendly staff. Would come again.

Came here on a saturday night, food was cold, service was slow, when asked for a beer was shouted at by a rather unhappy Dawn. We felt very threatened by her behaviour, my mental health has affected my confidence to now eat out anywhere. My therapist says this will take at least 6-12 months to ever walk into a pub again. Which is a shame, because I like pubs. Thanks Dawn.

Awful service, Dawn was absolutely rude and her language was abismal. Never eat or drink here, bar staff are rude. Not welcoming at all.

Visited as part of a bus tour group due to number we had all pre ordered our various meal My wife and I ordered the gammon egg and chips For a small pub the effiency of the staff was A1. All plate red hot as was food plenty of it and beautiful presented gammon off bone chips A1.All othe meals the same great quantity and quality Price were great value staff great friendly and well turned out Highly recommended

As a last minute Sunday lunch booking for 10 people, the pub was very accommodating and looked after us extremely well. One of the party is Gluten intolerant but the restaurant went out of its way to provide GF food including making GF gravy. The carvery was plentiful and good value - just what was needed for a rather jaded post- wedding group

This was recommended by the place we were staying, from the road i didn’t expect much, but we went behind to park and what a lovely seating area looking over the river. Winnie, the dog, greeted our dog. Dinner was lovely, and it was a gorgeous evening.

Precooked Sunday lunch 6 days prior. On arrival, we went to the bar and informed them of name and time of booking. We were told to sit at a table which had not been laid, others were, (it was as if our booking had not been put in diary). I had then to go up to the bar to ask about arrangements for food. and laying our table. I was informed by bar person for us to go up to the carvery when ready , not told where it was, it was our 1st visit, and our table would be laid prior to us coming back from the carvery. We followed other guests up to the carvery. 3 meat carvery, beef, turkey and pork. Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast, mashed, and baby potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, peas, swede, green beans, broccoli and cauliflower cheese. Lovely selection....but frozen swede, deep fried parsnips and roast potatoes, packet stuffing, and one of my pet hates which I believe wasfrozen mashed potato pellets with lots of butter to disguise it. Pity that there wasn't more pride taken to use fresh swede, home made fresh stuffing, oven roasted parsnips and roasties and proper mash !! Price was reasonable, but as so many catering establishments use short cuts these days, but if u want quality, tasty food, use fresh. I would have paid more to have this as the variety of vegetables was excellent. Best was the meat, tender and mouthwatering.

Came here for some drinks with mates in the evening. Unassuming from the outside but lovely inside. Staff were very lovely and helpful, especially given we were a group of 10 Uni students with the drinking habits to match. Overall really great time.

We visited as a family for a Sunday Carvery. Wow one of the best roast dinners I’ve had and plenty of choice of what you could have. I will be back again for another visit soon

We were staying in Sennybridge for a night after climbing Pen Y Fan and the proprietor recommended here for a meal. I'm glad we decided to go with his recommendation. The pub is spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely! We both had a 2 course meal. Lasagne for me and a steak for my partner. Everything was freshly cooked and really tasty. The added bonus was that pints are on special offer on a Monday night until 9pm so it was also good value for money!

Absolutely brilliant. Warm welcome. Friendly atmosphere. Interested bar staff. Great local advice on where to visit and funny fun chatter. Food is fantastic and plentiful. Prices are extremely reasonable. It's clean,relaxed, spacious and way better inside than it presents from the road. Also the garden...

Stopped here after a hike in the forest. Did not disappoint. Did not book ahead but accommodating none the less. Charming little village pub with amazing food. Would definitely go back!

Treated to Sunday carvery by friends. First visit here. Really impressed with the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the establishment. Will visit again no doubt. Keep up the good work guys..you deserve success.

Had a meal and some drinks. Food was served pretty quickly and was a substantial meal for a very good price. Food was cooked perfect. Staff are very friendly and polite. Establishment is very clean and has plenty of screens for watching sports if interested.

Has to be one of the best Sunday lunches that we’ve had. Could tell that it was all home cooked. Couldn’t fault it. Probably need to book as it does get very busy

Sunday lunch, 2 diners. Carvery is Choice of 3 meats or have a combination of all 3. Then help yourselves to vegatables, Sauces, gravy. We both had combination of 3 meats & plateful of multiple vegatables. All was hot, perfectly cooked - totally without fault. Carvery is priced under £9each. So, 2 carvery meals & 2 drinks came to less than £23.

Very friendly and welcoming with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The food is superb. Ordinary food, but cooked very well. The place seems popular with the local people always a good sign, a really good place

We visited here during a recent visit to Sennybridge Camp with some of Veteran friends. I was pleased to find it is still in the hands of the same family that served us back in the 70s and 80s. Its changed a lot but its still as excellent as I remember. Dawn and John looked after us while we were there and gave us some happy memories. I have to say the food we ate was fabulous too, all cooked fresh and very reasonably priced! We all left well satisfied and we cant wait to return again!

Xmas lunch for friends and colleagues, dawn and John have done a fine job on upgrade of this popular village pub, clean , spacious and very welcoming, staff are efficient and smiley, Xmas lunch from carvery was very good, excellent choice of veg and sauce's also plenty of it, desert's were also excellent, well presented and generous on the plate, overall a nice place to eat and enjoy good company, minor gripe , condements need to be in proper pots not transport cafe style dispenser. Would we return ... probably.

Friendly staff and while the place was very busy we didnt feel rushed to leave, so we were able to relax and catch up with friends. The new interior is modern and relaxing. Will be calling in again. The Sunday carvery is great value!

Called here after watching round Britain cyclists, what a find. Friendly staff , excellent carvery and lovely modern clean interior. T Vs on the walls in each room enabled us to continue watching the cycling while enjoying our delicious Sunday roast. A fair distance from home but we will definitely be back.

We stayed in Sennybridge for 3 days and popped into Aber Arms the first night. The place was so nice and the food so good that we came back just a few days later. There was no kids menu but their were plenty of kid friendly options on the main menu.

We stopped for a meal with 11 of us including 5 kids and a 2 OAPs. The service was fantastic with a very warm welcome and they were very accommodating! They offered to split the adult meals between the kids if we wanted them to and just generally couldn’t be more helpful.

We have been regular visitors to the local area over the past 5 years and have only just discovered this hidden gem. Great food, large portions, very reasonably priced, service with a smile all made for an enjoyable evening meal for our extended family (11 in total). All 4 generations were impressed with their meals. We hope to make a return visit soon.

It was my first visit to this pub,just wish it was closer to home.The food was good and reasonably priced.The beer was good , the pub in general was trendy with tv's in the bar and toilets spotless.well worth a visit.

We have just moved to the area and were recommended the Abercamlais for Sunday lunch. We are seasoned Sunday roast customers and the Abercamlais didn’t disappoint. The last time I had a Sunday lunch like this my Grandma made it. Fab home made fayre. I suspect we will be here most Sundays

Had a fantastic evening this week about 20 of us had our Christmas meal. Great food, great beer great staff thanks very much. Highly recommended!!

I was here on the eve of Christmas with my wife. We had the Sunday roast. It was a fantastic meal with a mix of carved turkey, beef and ham and a host of vegetables and mash from the buffet.

First off I would like to thank John & Helen for the amazing meal provide to our team of Mountain bikers, from start to finish, nothing was a problem

Ended up here at around 9pm last Sunday - delighted to find they serve up until about 10:30. A very good meal, and reasonably priced. Very lively bar, with a tasteful interior - quite a surprise after the plain outside on the main A40.

If you want friendly service in a comfortable modern environment, the Abercamlais Arms is definitely the place to come. The staff are fantastic, the beer well kept, and the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. There is a large car park at the rear, and a seating area overlooking the Senni river. Absolutely worth a visit whether you're a Sennybridge local or just passing through.

What a transformation,absolutely fantastic,its now made a old tired pub into something fresh,even more welcoming and a challenge to the big chains,The welcome is as always fantastic,the food is excellent,a fantastic choice and not expensive,so you can afford to go out and have yourselves a couple of drinks and good food without breaking the bank,which we have started to do now every Friday,perfect end to the week at the Abercamlais Arms. Congratulations Dawn,John and family on such a great job done, keep up the good work and will be great to see the next improvements when they have been finished.from the White family
