We had two roast dinners here and have to say we were disappointed with the quality of the food - The beef was tough , the potatoes and vegetables were near tasteless and the Yorkshire puddings were tiny and flat. The gravy was thick and sparse. Personally we were disappointed and feel we did not get anywhere near good value for money so would not recommend this cafe .

Pleasant no frills family run cafe, staff were lovely and it was busy on a Wednesday morning when we went in, with lots of locals, all who were very friendly. Good vegetarian options, and alternative milks for hot drinks too. Reasonable prices and quick service. Very good selection of home made baked goods, cakes etc which all looked amazing

Took one my my hungry nymphs here on the way back to Oceanus. Only needed to trade one of my golden cows for some great food! There’s a good car park down the road where I left my Golden Chariot of Light. 5 bright suns for this one: ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ Love, Helius

We stopped here today for breakfast on the way to walk up pen y fan. With it being a small cafe and around 3 other tables, we expected a breakfast to be quick. The staff were very friendly, however I think we should have been notified that a cooked breakfast and a ham and cheese toastie would take 40 minutes to serve. We were advised about 20 minutes in that everything is cooked fresh which is great, however I've never known 2 sausages and 2 bacon and some pouched eggs to take 40 minutes. Friendly staff but make sure you don't have a time limit if you visit I would say.

We called for lunch today and really enjoyed our meals. My wife had the lasagne, salad and garlic bread and I had ham, salad and new potatoes, both choices were well presented and very, very tasty. Also the staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely call again when we are in Brecon.

First arrived and We were told it was 30 minute wait for food which was fine however we were seated and waited 15 minutes for a drink then another 15 minutes before food was ordered then a 30 minute wait from then.. for food to arrive luke warm… gammon was like leather egg had been sat out that long on a hot plate it had gone chewy… a friends onion rings were cold. To top it off staff were slow and not very accommodating.. understandable if busy but it wasn’t. Felt awkward and unwelcoming between sad food and miserable staff. Would not recommend.

On arrival found plenty of parking spaces. Went into hotel via back stairs and walked through corridor to front for reception. First impressions were of a tired looking hotel, in dire need redecoration, hardly the appearance of a 4 star hotel. Receptionist was very helpful but again the reception desk looks like something you would find in a 2/3 star place. When we got the keys to the room, we saw more of the hotel that hadn’t been decorated in years. The room was big enough with a clean and spacious bathroom. The beds were comfortable, but the room temp was uncomfortably warm as the windows face south and have very restricted opening. The decor is awful, small pattern floor to ceiling and same paper on the doors !! The curtains matched the pattern although opposite colours. They were also very musty smelling which made the room smell too. One of my pet hates in hotels it there is only normally one chair, well here we actually had two, so well done. Breakfast room is huge, but limited space for two people as most of the tables are set up for large groups, we were offered tables in the conservatory, but it was very sunny so would have been like sitting in a greenhouse, interestingly none of the 2 seating tables by the winder were in use. We needed up having to use the next smallest table which seated 8. The breakfast selection was very good and the food of fairly good quality, would have been nice to have decaf tea available given there was decaf coffee. Staff were very friendly. Over all the hotel was ok for the reason we were there but not a 4* and not worth the money for one night.

Great great pub, fantastic atmosphere and super friendly. If you want a sterile identikit chain pub kind of feel then this pub will not be for you, but for everyone else this should be a destination pub in Builth. Good beer and cider options, open plan seating options as well as cosy alcoves. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, spent a lot of time helping us find a taxi back to our middle-of-nowhere campsite. It's rare that pub customers can listen to their own choice of music so a juke box is a great feature here.

We ate vegan sausage rolls here, followed by an oat milk latte and amazing pastries for dessert. Very friendly service.
