Rich Way Cafe in Powys

Visited here a few times now and had to share my thoughts! Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere and extremely friendly service. Georgie and her team couldn't do enough for us. Best cafe in brecon, priced very reasonable and always leave full and extremely satisfied. The coffee is absolutely delicious too! Thankyou 👍 xx

A big thank you to the owners for their consideration when our grandson had a melt down while we visited at lunchtime. They were very helpful while we dealt with him. We were very grateful whilst dealing with a troubled grandchild . The food we ordered but couldn't fully appreciate was very good. Diolch yn fawr.

We only popped in for coffee and toast. The breakfasts looked great and were very reasonably priced. We should have had tea as the coffee tasted burned, as if the machine needed cleaning.

This cafe was top notch. The service was impeccable - the owner and her colleagues were great hosts and made everyone welcome (with a few one liners thrown in for good measure!) The quality of the food was amazing - most of it locally sourced and it was perfectly cooked. Great value for the standard. Thank you!

We called in the cafe by the boat canal, They didn't serve chips And very expensive, We found this lovely friendly cafe Ordered chips sausage egg Friend had bacon added to hers Mine was under £7 Loads of chips and the food was delicious, Definitely will be going there again Best cafe in brecon Not far from the bus station by the canal boats.

This was a brilliant place for breakfast, really reasonable prices and lovely accommodating staff-they kindly managed to sort me something out that was vegan. Would definitely go again!

Great little cafe. Have visited before, offers good value and friendly staff. Great for an "all day breakfast". Popped in with a friend prior to visiting the Wesh Guards museum which is just a short walk away. Also handy for the canal basin.

Nice friendly service with a good sized breakfast for the money. We all had the big breakfast that was more than enough to get through!

I popped in today whilst walking past initially I looked in and thought I would find somewhere else as appearance wise i was being sobish. they have a 5 star I always look at the ratings I am glad I went in the food was fresh and so tasty, a perfect lunch after a walk and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. it was a great price and I definitely would highly recommend I will go in next time I am in brecon keep up the good work girls xx

Dropped in here with two mates when we visited Wales last weekend enroute to Aberystwyth from Swindon, the two ladies were very hospitable and even asked a couple of the local lads to move so we could have more room at a table of four , which was very kind of both the ladies and of course the local lads . The food was excellent, one mate had the full breakfast which looked stunning and me and my other mate had the bacon and sausage bap, which was awesome , tea and coffee was great too . A lovely little cafe which given how busy it was , is obviously well liked by locals and travelers alike . Well done to the two ladies and thank you , we will be calling again on our next trip into Wales 👍🏻

We always come here whenever we are in Brecon and want breakfast. It’s clean and the staff are friendly. The food is great value. Sometimes it is busy and there can be a bit of a wait, but it’s fine. We don’t go in to rush, and gobbled food down. I would recommend to anyone I know.

I’ve been coming to this cafe for god knows how long and I’ve ether had a massive breakfast suited for king or my favourite Friday treat, BLT before I go get my daughter from school. Always chat to the staff and feel welcome even when rushed off their feet a wait is still absolutely worth it. Food is amazing and always yummy. As always I’ll be back on Friday, unless there’s no school! See you all soon.

Best place in Brecon for amazing food, wonderful staff. We’ve been coming here for the last 6yrs. We know the bacon and sausage and black pudding come from the local butcher’s. Keep up the great work 😊

Cheap ingredients, not nice at all. Sausages were vile, hard bacon, fried bread was disgusting and what's with the raw mushrooms? Nearly 40 minute wait for a cooked breakfast Coffee was nice which is why I have given 2 stars instead of 1.

Feeling lazy attended for a small breakfast on the 4th Oct 22, and a bacon and egg bap... Coffee (capacinno) perfect... Waited avarage time for a freshly cooked breakfast and bap timed perfectly... Reading greasy spoon is reviews tells me what ar*eholes eat here, I don't blame the owner, clearly a welcome for everyone looking through the food crytics of a full English 🤣🤣, and the one slating a child being in the place of work lol its a family run buisness during the summer holidays ... People seriously moan for the hell of it I swear... Anyway it was the absolute best cooked breakfast I'd eaten for a long time, friendly staff, nothing was any bother for the staff, two hard working females, smiles and laughter... Decor a little tired... but I was hungry and not into paint charts and fluffy cushions so not the end of the world... Tip left, would highly recommend for a good priced plate of amazingly tasty cook food 👏👏👏👏 a must eat atleast once, and twice if you take my word for it👍... . Thank you staff beautiful food 🌹🌹

Handily placed opposite Aldi. We called in for a quick drink and a piece of toast. The staff were helpful and there was a clean toilet. It would not pretend to provide fine dining but is a basic cafe which is cheap and cheerful.

We had a large and a small all day breakfast and they were both huge. Fried bread was to die for, lush local bacon.2 pots of good strong tea too. Just perfect for when your hungry. Excellent lovely staff made us very welcome too ....

A very friendly warm welcome. Staff were were attentive to our needs and the food was very good. All tables were clean and tidy and clean and it was all very good value for money.

We. called in this cafe for a cup of tea and something to eat. on entering we were greeted by a loverly pleasant lady. we asked if we could have 3 breakfast. Yes was the reply. we sat down at a nice clean table. after a sort wait the lady served our food. it was hot and plenty full. we recommend this place to anyone who visits Brecon.

Out for a motorbike ride to Brecon. Arrived at usual bike parking place outside theatre next to canal basin and was looking for a cup of tea. Unfortunately the theatre cafe was closed but a friendly passer by directed us to the Rich Way Cafe...

After a walk by the river yesterday to check out the aftermath of last weeks flood we decided to have an impromptu breakfast. First time going in to this cafe and it was great! My husband had the large breakfast and I had the small. Both meals included toast and a mug of tea, for just over £10 it was a bargain. A really tasty meal. A clean friendly cafe with helpful staff and a good atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Love the girls here, always make you feel welcome! Food is always cooked well, and the drinks are the bomb! Specially the hot chocolates I feel I need to respond to the woman further down about her sausage though...who complains about a sausage being too hot?! lol

My wife and son accompanied me on a visit to the Marina in Brecon. My son recommended the cafe as he regularly camps at Pencelli Castle. We fancied a fried breakfast and were not disappointed, my wife chose the Jacket potato and my son had pie and chips. I decided on my original fancy of a fried breakfast and all meals were well cooked and good value. We enjoyed what we had and will definitely return on our next visit to Brecon

Usually enjoy the cooked breakfast here but haven’t been for quite some time. Quite disappointed on this visit. The sausages were nuclear and as a result had blisters on the roof of my mouth. Mushrooms looked ropey so gave them a miss too. Egg was rock hard too which was a let down. Couldn’t finish the food because of the nuclear heat of the sausages.

We came here after a long walk along the canal. The cafe is not far from the start of the canal and ideal for tired legs.The food was excellent value for money, the breakfast lovely and fresh, and the children’s meals more than half the price cheaper than a place up the road. ( the exact same chicken nuggets)I would definitely return and recommend

Went in for breakfast and a lady came in with her dog. The girl serving went over to the dog and started stroking it and then never washed her hands. When we finally got our food, I found a dog hair on the plate. Absolutely disgusting. And she spent most of the time before starting to cook our food talking to the other customers

Went in for a cooked breakfast wasn’t impressed at all cheap food wouldn’t go there again the sausage was tasteless and the fried bread made me feel sick.

Popped in for lunch during half term, we were a group of 6 adults and 5 kids. Super quick service with great food all brought to us at the same time. Would Defo recommend.

Returning from a family visit recently we decided to call in at Brecon for a light lunch. It was a Bank Holiday and the few eating places we had passed on route were very busy. We turned down a side street, not far from the old barracks (along side Aldi) and parked up. The Rich Way Cafe was immediately accessible and seemed to have quite a few regulars (always a good sign!). We briefly glanced at the menu, and sure, we could find something to enjoy decided to look no further. I had the cranberry, bacon and brie panini and my better half had cheese and ham toasted sandwich (brown bread) and both came with a little salad. Everything is cooked and prepared as you order, delicious and nicely served up by friendly staff.The menu offers a good ranch of dishes. The cafe is clean, light and airy with basic tables and chairs (high chairs available). They serve a nice selection of hot and cold drinks. Cash payment only. Would highly recommend.

This is a regular place I visit and is a local small cafe run by friendly staff. Nothing flash just basic tables and chairs clean and friendly. The only drawback is that they do not have any on site toilets for customers.

40 miles into an 80 mile bike ride and I’ve got the Rich Way and a sausage sandwich on my mind.

For late March it is bitterly cold, the beast from the east strikes again. We nipped into the Rich Way for a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich. Both were very good and very welcome. Good honest food. No frills. No loos, but as we were going to the theatre it didn't matter. 2 teas, 2 bacon buns (3 rashers) £7.40. Friendly staff. Would visit again.

We only had tea on this occasion as we were between breakfast and lunch, having arrived around 1100 hours. The breakfasts on the other tables looked very good indeed and had we not eaten earlier or had we arrived later we would most definitely have eaten here. The tea was nice and all six of us had large, 2-mug teapots. Order at the counter and the food/drinks are served to the table. The staff and chef were friendly and helpful. Only downside is a lack of customer toilets but these are available in the Theatre just down the road. Loyalty cards are available with the 10th hot drink being free. Lots of locals were in the café, which is always a good sign

Went for lunch good choice of menu and very reasonable prices. I had a baked potato with curry. The only thing I did not like was that the accompanying salad was on the same plate as the curry, I would have preferred it served separate.

Rich Way Cafe is a great value! The food is very fresh and hot when served to you! The smell and taste is amazing and is very cheap considering the size of the portions you get! The staff here are also very polite! :D

Went in for a pot of tea which was served very quickly to our table by pleasant staff. Noticed the food served to other customers looked very nice. The tables were being cleared. The menu looked to have good choices and the prices reasonable.

Been to this place a few times, staff friendly and very helpful. I have always had the breakfast and every time it's been good . I have seen other people order different meals and they looked nice and fresh. I would recommend this place to people for a hearty meal.

I live in Brecon and so can honestly say this is the friendliest cafe in the area. The staff are hardworking, get on well with each other and make everyone feel welcome - especially anyone with a disability/ using a wheelchair as the access from the street is great. The food is freshly cooked, always hot and the menu is priced well for families to enjoy . Well worth a visit for the amazing value breakfasts and tasty lunches.

Can't pay by card, food is reheated in microwave and rice is a packet of Uncle Bens. Tables are not cleared. Basic food, basic service.

One staff member was really rude when we ordered our breakfasts. Asked politely if I could have scrambled egg instead of fried egg with the breakfast, didn't mind paying extra and there was the option of scrambled egg on toast on their menu. Was bluntly and rudely spoken too refusing the scrambled egg. What happened to customer service? I'm pregnant and don't like eating runny eggs when eating out. I could understand if there was a mad rush also but it was really quiet inside. Last time I waste my money on that establishment. Other staff members friendly pity about that one woman.

Waited 35 minutes for two breakfasts. They were busy and I wouldn't normally mind waiting but they obviously serve locals / regulars first as people who came in after us were served before us. When I questioned this, I was told that our order was bigger than theirs which was rubbish as they also had two breakfasts. Food was average. Wouldn't recommend this cafe and we wouldn't eat there again.

This is a basic cafe selling cheap food. The staff are as friendly as a carrier bag full of rattle snakes, Cheap edible food but poor service unless you are a local. My advice ,walk across the road to the theatre cafe.

Popped in for a snack on the spur of the moment. Ham, Egg and Chips all well cooked and presented. Very friendly atmosphere with workmen and locals coming and going. Very popular and dog friendly.

Ate here this morning with a friend, 2 full cooked breakfasts with coffee for £10.50.The food is not fast food and you get plenty of it for your money. Well worth the slight detour out of town for.

The café was being repainted outside so some disruption was caused by this. The staff were pleasant but were quite chatty between themselves & all went outside to sit & have a cigarette with the painters - not the most professional image!It was acceptable but we wouldn't rush back.

For a cuppa, or snack or meal of the day come here good prices served with a smile. Always welcomes children. Visit the canal around the corner and children's play ground. Walking distance to and from town.

Good food and a lot home cooked specials which adds to taste and quality. The setting is clean, tidy and very well run. The staff are friendly and the boss is top notch making it a pleasure to dine there. Would recommend this place to anyone near the area who fancies a nibble. I know I do.

Lovely clean little cafe in Brecon, serves standard breakfast food to very reasonably priced sandwiches and jacket potatoes etc. Staff friendly and food cooked well, all in all great value for money and when in the area will pop by again.

Called into Rich Way cafe after visiting family members who had recently moved to Brecon in late 2014 . Found staff very friendly and service prompt . Food tasted great , was good value for money and exactly what we would have hoped for on a cold Spring morning . Visiting family again in August and we will be certain to call in again .

We 4 went to Rich Way Café for a spot of breakfast / lunch and what a pleasant surprise. We have always noticed how popular it looks but never strayed down rich Way when hungry! Great value for money, great food, really friendly staff, what more do you want? Keep up the fantastic work.

Well what can I say, small café but must provide the best cooked breakfast in Brecon. Fantastic staff who always go out of there way to help you All cakes, sandwiches, hot and cold meals prepared fresh while you wait. Also do food for you to take out.

Great cafe. Does what it says on the tin but with the friendliest and best service you will find. Soup good. Toasties epic. There are places with better views but this is a proper cafe!

One of best breakfasts ever.....very friendly staff and owner....pleasant seating area outside....much better value than Theatre restaurant just around corner.....shame they don't open in evenings

I stopped here for a sandwich and a cup of tea while visiting the nearby canal in Brecon town. Good choice of hot & cold sandwiches / small baguettes at excellent value for money with a friendly service. The café is located across the road from Aldi on Rich Way.
