⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough good things about Brecon Tandoori The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from—whether you’re into mild curries or something with more heat, there’s something for everyone. Every bite was packed with authentic flavor, and you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. What really set this place apart, though, was the incredible hospitality. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He even offered us a lift back to our accommodation, which was such a kind and unexpected gesture. It truly made the night memorable! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing Indian food and a warm, personal touch. We’ll definitely be back!

Best option to eat in Brecon my a long shot. The menu is extensive and traditional, the chef is also a part owner so takes huge pride in his cooking. Ash, the co-owner, also drove us 10km back to our accommodation after we couldn’t get a cab. Ash, thanks for the great meal and the lift.

Had many Indians in here ,but tonight my husband and I very disappointed, the food was terrible, wasted most of it ,no chicken in my curry ,didn't taste like it normally does my husband dish was same ,wasted so disappointed, will not be returning 🙈.

I went to the Brecon Tandoori with my wife for dinner on Wednesday 28th August 2024. It was the best curry I have had in a very long time - and this is saying something, as I grew up in Leicester, and work with Gurkhas. The service from Hassan was also excellent, thank you. I look forward to going back the next time I am in Brecon. The Chicken Pili Pili was just excellent, and the service attentive. Thank you for making an excellent dinner!

Have veen waiting to try this place for a sit down meal, sll staff were lovely and helpful and the food was BEAUTIFUL. They do Brecon proud. Have also ordered family takeaway. Two words to describe their food..... Bloomin-Fantastic & beautiful. Staff again were very warm n friendly, service was excillent. Ordered. Chickn korma, Chickn tikka massala Minty Lamb, Taka dhaal 4popodums, 2plain nanns. And a spinach dish all for £50. Highly recommend this place.. l think some of the other local 1s are in trouble..!? The food here was very high standard and still pipping hot after walkn back to car and a 10mile drive home. Thanku Brecon Tandori. X

An Indian restaurant with great food but should improve the service and atmosphere. Felt like they are maintaining the space properly but the food is really really good.

We had a lovely meal after a day of hiking and it just perfect!

We love this place: we’ve been regular customers ever since it opened, going every weekend, always welcomed with big smiles and greetings by all the staff. We’ve toured all around the Chef’s recommendations page in the menu, and every single one we’ve had is just absolutely delicious. The chicken pili pili is my personal favourite, and the chicken chettinad a close second.

Super food, attentive staff. Really enjoyed an excellent meal here tonight. Nice ambiance and if I didn’t live so far away, would come back very soon.

Probably one of the worst curry's we've had. Poppadoms are soft and even hard to tear, curry has no flavour, chips taste like they have been microwaved a gazillion times. Won't be returning.

Ordered a takeaway for 8..all delicious meals, all piping hot. Lovely food, definitely use again when here. Bravo.

Our first visit here. What an experience. Outstanding food but service even better. Nothing was to much trouble for them. (Had a few issues with the bill, but there was 19 of us paying separately) and the manger even done a few trips to our glamping site because of taxi problems.thank you.

Had a fabulous meal this evening. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Pleasantly surprised at how busy it was on a Sunday evening. Couldn’t fault the food and it was very reasonably priced too.

If you love Indian food, this is place to go to of you're in Brecon. The lamb was soooo tender and the spicy flavours are absolutely delicious.

Could not recommend it enough, we had samosas, Butter Chicken and the garlic, honey naan. We shared the butter chicken and a rice between 2 and each had our own naan, this was more than ample and we walked out completely stuffed, the butter chicken was lick the plate good and the naan omg. The only downside was we were only in town for the night and live the other side of the World, so won't be able to have it again.

We arrived when the restaurant opened at 4.30pm yet we're seated at a table which had dirty tablecloths with crumbs on?! The side seating also had crumbs on. The next table also had dirty crumpled tablecloths. Staff kept forgetting things and the beer was flat. The food was excellent but at £1 each for poppadoms and each chutney/sauce these alone came to £7 for the three of us. Staff were all pleasant and all 3 asked if the food was OK. Could do with more communication with eachother and more cleaning.

Nice food, but the toilets were disgusting, sticky floor. Table clothes were dirty.

Really tasty meal had by all 6 of us coming back from Hay-on-Wye festival. Hadn’t booked but they accommodated us even though they were busy. Service very good and polite, attentive staff. Highly recommended and very good value.

We went midweek. Food was excellent as always, and the staff were friendly, always with a smile. On the day I ordered Railway Station Beef Curry, they had run out of beef but offered to switch to Lamb and it was delicious. We have eaten here several times, when its quiet or really busy (e.g. Valentine's) and the food has always been great, and can honestly say they are the friendliest team of staff we've met anywhere.

It’s not Indian food. Bangladeshi may be.

We had to change from eating in to take out on Christmas Day. Instead of the delicious Indian Christmas Lunch we were expecting, we received 2 portions of broccoli soup (which was lovely) but not Indian, an Indian chicken and lamb shank main, 2 containers of rice and 2 poppadoms..... at a cost of £60 ....

FIRST CLASS MEAL I can’t believe how fabulous the meal was here tonight and the size of the portions. The service was exemplary . Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Really impressed with both the service and the quality of the food. Everything tasted fresh and the food flew out the kitchen with a smile. Portion sizes are very generous - no need for sides if you're ordering poppadoms etc.

Returned to Brecon Tandoori after initial opening to check it out. Better than last time. Food tastier. Service better too. Will return again. Thanks Ash! Lamb was melt-the-mouth tasty. Chicken was spicy without being too hot.

We can to Brecon last night and we’re tired and hungry! At the end of our road we found this amazing new Indian restaurant. We thought it was closed at first but then we peered in the windows and saw it was open so in we went. It was the BEST Indian food we have ever had and we have been to many Indian restaurants over our time! The food was sensational - I had the saag penner and mushroom rice and my husband had lamb rogan Josh and a garlic naan bread. 10/10 from us we will 100 % be back next time we visit Brecon yum yum!

One of the best curry’s I’ve had and I’ve been to top London curry restaurants that are not this good. The Naga Korai Chicken was spot on 👍 Lovely staff as well. Will definitely be back next time I’m hiking in Wales.

First time at Brecon Tandoori with a group of friends. The food was gorgeous! I only had the Tandoori Chicken Chilli, two poppadoms and peshwari naan without a starter and rice because I knew I would struggle to finish them. I was proven right as the others in the group couldn’t finish the main course!

Everything was lovely, food, service, can’t complain. Highly recommend

Absolutely fabulous meal, all 6 of us said it was one of (if not) the best curry we have ever had, and we've had a few curries over the years! Service was amazing, given it was the Saturday night of the Fringe Festival and they were seriously busy, nothing was too much trouble. It will most definitely be our new go to place for a curry, only negative drinks were a bit expensive. Thanks very much to all of the staff 😊

I'm not very impressed to be honest. The service here was rather slow and edging towards unfriendly at times. We ordered two different mains, but as far as we could tell, they were exactly the same. The starter was a massive disappointment - Chefs special platter at an Indian place should include things like onion bhajis, samosas, and similar. The platter here had a couple of spring rolls, a selection of chicken pieces akin to nuggets, and lamb pieces. As platters go, it felt like a total swizz. There needs to be some serious attention paid here to get it to a good standard.

We are locals, but this was our first time trying Brecon Tandoori. Positive feedback from friends & and family who have eaten here meant it was time to give it a try. We decided on the takeaway option & placed our order online, using the website. There's a lot to navigate, which takes a bit of time, but be patient, as it's worth it. Plus, orders over £20 qualify for a 10% discount. We chose a specific time to collect & our order was ready within minutes of arrival. Happily, the food was still lovely & hot when we arrived home (10 mins drive) & everything we ordered was delicious. The portions are huge, not for the faint-hearted, plenty to share - or not! If you haven't already, I highly recommend you try Brecon Tandoori, either eat in or take away, you won't be disappointed.

I’ve been to most for he local Indians in the area but have never had tandoori. After hearing positive things we decided to go as a largish group. All of us were blown away by the quality and taste of each of the dishes that did took longer than expected to arrive but the taste was definitely worth the wait. The menu is extensive and there’s a lot of side options to boot. The service wasn’t poor but it could of been better if the rice and sides were delivered with the name of each dish as we had to guess what rice was what, but each member of staff was friendly and respectful. The restaurant is bright and comfortable and there’s a very good beer garden out the back, unfortunately it looks like the toilets have been forgotten about, was very tired looking and had no hand towels or working dryer! Hence the low atmosphere score as it just isn’t good enough. That being said this is now our go to and probably the best Indian I’ve ever tasted! Highly recommend the lamb dishes!

got overcharged and wouldn’t let us split the bill based on each individual, instead made us split evenly. And the naan bread tasted like rubber. But the service was good and nice setting.

Excellent meal this evening at the Brecon Tandoori Good service throughout, food nicely presented & very tasty. Good value for money, with 2 courses including nans & 2x rounds of drinks coming to a very reasonable £52 Would certainly recommend.

My wife and I ate here last night after spending the day walking up the Pen Y Fan The curries were some of the best we have eaten in a long time. If you are in Brecon and you love curry then go here, it won't let you down. The lamb curry my wife had was delicious it melted in your mouth and the chicken I had was moist chunky and the spices and sauce were top notch. The chilli rice was excellent. Thank you for an excellent service and even better meal.

We came in quite close to closing time, the owner was so friendly offering us a table after the staff members had already started clearing down. After we had out meals come out, laughter could be heard coming from the kitchen, which gave an atmosphere of friendliness. The food came out quickly. Put quite simply, it was the best chicken naga I have ever had - I've had alot. My partner enjoyed her dishes. Very pleasant expirience, can't wait to go back.

Just had a fantastic experience at Brecon Tandoori. Went in without any great expectations as the menu descriptions looked 'nothing out of the ordinary' - Oh Boy was I wrong, the food was succulent, delicious and beautifully presented. They achieved a very high standard and the Naans were light and fluffy not at all stodgy like some others. The service was attentive without being intrusive. A very pleasurable dining experience.

Worst food and customer service experience.

We visited Brecon Tandoori early on a Friday night. It was already busy and buzzing. The building has been totally transformed from the traditional pub it used to be. Comfortable beach seats around the walls of the main room allowing the tables to be easily set up for different party sizes. There is also a second dining room on the front of the building. Very efficient happy staff. The menu is very long which can sometimes be a bad sign. However we had a very pleasant meal choosing 2 of the chef suggestions. It was beautifully presented and hot. The onion bhaji were large so next time we will share one as our starter. Will definitely return and this time choose one of the more spicy options. PS some unusual spelling in the menu whilst amusing hopefully gets corrected on the next menu print run.

Not a great experience. Gin and tonic served in a tumbler, no ice? Repeated order for drinks numerous times and then a rather long wait before being served food I didn’t order, which was reasonable at best. Overall very disappointed

Attention to detail - Missing Food was lovely cannot fault it (A-). Service was lacking, pointed towards our table. More confidence when forward facing the customer, the waiters were hesitant in service and we struggled to understand what food was being given to us. This problem was witnessed with confusion of Nan breads. Toilets - no handdryer or paper towels to dry hands, the main toilet cubicle was out of service. I would visit the establishment again. Overall a deserving low B due to the service.

This is the worse Indian I’ve ever had! Bits missing from our order, and some of it is totally inedible, I don’t even know what’s it’s meant to be! I was told this place was amazing, but what a HUGE let down. I’d have been better off buying a takeaway from Tesco. Shockingly bad!

Awesome find for us on holiday. We were early so no booze licence but that turned out to be for the best. The food is amazing, even our fussy child picked out and ate something he'd never tried before. Staff all really friendly but not overly so.
