The best restaurants in Wales

Visited The Habit for breakfast with my sister on Friday and the service was very good as was the food, so we decided to return on Saturday, again for breakfast. What a difference in the service. There were about 5 youngsters working together with an older lady who had worked there on the Friday. This poor lady was running around whilst the youngsters were in the back presumably cooking. We waited for ages to be served as did the table next to us. The cafe was almost half full. Eventually we were served by a young lady who looked as though she didn’t want to be there. We had our tea cakes which were delicious. I went up to the counter to pay and although there were three of the youngsters behind the counter, I was totally ignored for what seemed an age. The older lady was still holding everything together while these youngsters were chatting and joking, oblivious to their customers. Eventually one of them asked “are you okay?” as if I was being a nuisance by waiting there. I told her I wanted to pay but I felt embarrassed at the same time. I should have asked her if “she was okay!” The younger Saturday staff there could do with some good old fashioned customer service training!!

Absolutely excellent pub. Friendly welcoming staff. Landlord Kieran is such a wonderful charming, kind, sincere Gentleman, Also a highly skilled Professional Chef by trade.. His food is out of this world, 5 Star food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend the Stag Inn for a gorgeous cold Marston's or any other of the fine selection of bitters, larger, ales, spirits. Wonderful friendly atmosphere with the staff and the locals. I can't wait to come back again. Thanks Kieran for making myself and best friend feel so very welcome. from ^Reece^

Only stayed for a meal not accommodation. Service was good and Moses was very helpful.

The restaurant had many seating areas and was confutable, smart and clean. There was an excellent range of menu options. I enjoyed a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings and my husband enjoyed a burger and chips.

Visited again recently for a drink with a friend. The building itself is so beautiful and worth a visit if you're in the area. The function room is gorgeous if you like period features. Amazing wood panelling and chandeliers from wonderfully high ceilings. The bar/restaurant is lovely too with a good balance of period and modern furnishings. Well worth a visit.....

You definitely go here, for the food and the buy one, get one free. Definitely not for the customer service skills. Check out the reviews, management with no people skills, or man management skills. Pink hair?? Customer service, at its worst.

Food was delicious, portions were perfect with a good amount of meat in the curry. Very quick to be ready, and ready exactly on time, even on a Friday evening. I rarely take time to make reviews but I enjoyed it so much I had to share!

The company pushed my delivery back 20 Minutes, the pizza didnt seem to have any sauce on just a base a an excessive amount of cheese

Group of 6 of us on a friday afternoon..place was empty. We all had a standard main course only with rice & came to £23 each..food was fine but nothing spectacular..compared to other eateries in the marina on the pricier side for what it was. What really irked us however was the house wine..ordered a couple of bottles without knowing the price..£32 each we were shocked at the price when the bill came & whilst it was drinkable certainly didnt justify the price paid. ..

Amazing selections of draught options, best pub food in cardiff and friendly staff.

It was a brilliant hotel! We stayed in a family room, which was really spacious – about twice the size of a standard hotel room. The room was very clean, and having a bathtub really helped me relax after a long day. It was my first time staying at a Premier Inn, and I’d love to use it again when I travel to other places.

Had a Great meal here. Well worth the money. Stuff were really friendly as well

This was our experience on the night arrived at 7pm order taken 7.30 food arrived at 8.25 wife's shepherd pie so hot burnt mouth, asked for medium rare steak arrived medium well done, when finished ask for menu for sweet waited 15mins nobody asked what we like so didn't bother as getting late, paid and left. Was going to mention about food but really didn't want to wait again.
