The Westbourne in Swansea

Came for Sunday dinner today and couldn’t fault it. The service was warm and friendly from the start. Order food and drinks at the bar and all staff were so nice. Sunday roast was so tasty, we both had beef and it was cooked perfectly. Tasty and cut into it like butter. Rest of the roast was fresh and everything was tasty. Being a proper Yorkshireman the best part was the gravy! Tasted proper beefy and not had gravy like that since moving to Wales. Would definitely come back, thank you :)

A great little place for a great meal or just a quiet drink. Friendly staff always ready to serve with a smile. Sunday lunch a must but need to book, Tuesday night charity fun quiz Thursday night free juke Box.

I'd heard the food was good and was not disappointed, ordered at 3.30pm but unfortunately they'd run out of beef, I say unfortunately it was actually fortunately for me as i ordered the lamb and it was incredible! Absolutely superb. Nice chilled environment too. Thank you.

Buttermilk chicken burger and Glamorgan sausages were both lovely dishes, maybe some cheese on the burger would be good but tbf I didn't ask if that was possible and probably is. The lady serving was really friendly, good prices, will be back.

Ordered vegetable chilli. No beans no chillie spice. It looked more like a ratatouille. A few people in my party also had very poor food. Worse than a ready meal . Chicken in the green tai curry looked like rubber. Would not recommend.

Very nice , me and the wife have stopped there quite a few times over the last couple of weeks. Nice beer . Something I have to say is that they need to sweep up outside the cigarette ends (bloody smokers).but thats most pubs these days . (If i ran a pub i would be on that straight away), really does put one off sitting outside. anyway , excellent service. Would go again . Overall very good

A great traditional pub, good food and excellent service.

Food was ok took 30 mins for the first meal to come after ordering but time between first meal coming out and last meal was almost 20mins then the vegetables came 5 mins after we all had finished. And there were only 4 of not like it was a table of 10+ and it wasn't that busy either. Will avoid in the future.

Booked 2 people for 1230, food arrived 1310, first meal arrived and second meal took another 10 minutes. At this time the pub was pretty quiet. Ordered chicken but ended up with pork on the one meal plus a lot of veg was missing, the other meal was cold, carrots were hard and crunchy. Asked for it to be heated up but came back drowning in gravy. When the server came back to us, she told us that the chef was "having an off day". Not really a great thing to say to customers. Possibly a coincidence but both diners have slightly off stomachs that night.

Once again a fantastic beef and but roof dinner can’t fault the food or service one of the best. The dinner portions are very and I couldn’t squeeze a desert. Best Sunday lunch in Swansea in my opinion.

1st time visiting disappointed in the menu and over priced! Great lady served us couldn't have been more helpful. Great that dogs are allowed in.

Very disappointed.. food barely warm and it was one of the only places in Swansea that did a children's menu which wasn't Sunday lunch.. so disappointed when we got there to find this is no longer the case.. this makes it so difficult for a family to go out for Sunday lunch

Visited sunday with friends, sunday lunch was very nice and i reccommend to side of cauliflower cheese, which was fab. Enjoyed our lunch in a nice relaxed atmosphere and look forward to returning very soon.

Came from Newcastle to visit family, always go to the Westbourne for Sunday lunch but today was terrible, we waited 30 minutes,the meal was cold the chicken was tough and hard the roast potatoes weren't cooked and the gravy was like water, and don't get me going about the forest on the top of it. I will never be going back and my best score would be 4 out of 10

Booked Sunday lunch the day before, was not disappointed, absolutely lovely Sunday lunch, one of the best I’ve had out in a long time, staff are lovely very friendly and welcoming. Have booked again for this week with other friends 😊

Meet up once a month with the girls and we try somewhere different every time and this was a great choice beautiful food great service and a nice relaxing atmosphere will be going again xx

We booked a table for 4 at 1-30.for Sunday lunch, we ordered food and didn't get it until well over an hour after we ordered when it arrived all the vegetables were on the plate and the gravy one plate was swimming in gravy another not so much. The food was good, but cold, not what we had expected. The last time and every other time we visited the Westbourne service was quick. The food was hot, vegetables came in separate dishes, and the gravy in a gravy boat so we could decide how much gravy we wanted and the same with the vegetables . I was quite disappointed with my last visit.

Great pub and good food. Had sunday lunch which was delicious and plentiful (a ton of veg). Vegetarian and meat options were excellent. The staff go the extra mile to accomodate and they are all extremely pleasant. Will definitely go again. Thanks. (Ps Kid friendly pub)

Great pub with plenty goings-on for all ages, good beer choices and quick tills and food DELIVERY.. Reservations taken in advance Staff all brill, shout out to Landlady... Keeps everything ship shape and has a cracking vocal range 😂 Why, Why Why........ DELILAH

Limited choice of beers/ales. Was having a pleasant enough time until I was verbally abused by a group of drunk patrons who were being table served by a staff member . The staff member smiled as if it were somehow acceptable. It was not. Disappointing.

We went in and just as we sat, the lady working there immediately showed up saying excuse me! You can't sit without ordering. Absolutely horrible treatment and we were shocked. It killed the vibe. We went onto order some coke anyway. The glass was disgusting as it had lipstick marks on it, raising questions about the cleanliness of this place. The staff was super unfriendly and too busy chatting with someone. Never visiting again even though it's closer to my house. 👎

Amazing Sunday roast to top of my birthday weekend away. Will book again.

We had a great family meal here today with our toddler. The staff were lovely and accommodating. I asked for some cucumber with my daughter's meal, which I was happy to pay for, but they added it at no extra charge. Was also pleasantly surprised that meals for under fives are free with an adult meal. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! Glad to see the pub open and busy again, and with such a warm atmosphere.

Please note that every disability is not visible. Shame this was mentioned about in the use of the disabled toilet having spent a very enjoyable evening in your pub.

A great pub with good food and great staff. Out of the main town centre it's a little quieter but they had live music on and they were great. Of you want a proper pub rather than plastic version, pop in....👍👍👍

Ordered 3 of their Sunday Dinner meals to take away. Was very big, tasty and good value for money.

Friendly atmosphere in this local pub. It was very quiet when we called in early on a Sunday evening. Close to a number of restaurants and other bars on Brynymor Road and St Helens Road . Good range of draft beers and ciders at reasonable prices. Small seating area outside, with large single room bar inside.

Visited the pub today for a lunchtime meal with a friend. I was so disappointed with the quality of everything, unfortunately the place seems to have gone down hill since I last visited probably over a year ago now. I had a burger which was raw in the middle & very bland over all, the chips were fried so much that they were just full of oil & so crispy there was no filling left in them! The table we sat on was sticky & dirty (there were only 2 other tables of people in the entire pub). The interior of the pub is also very tired & in need of repair/refurbishment, the music was blasting.. far too loud for a daytime meal! I'm afraid to say the overall experience was really not good! 😞

Very tasty food, staff are helpful and friendly. The only downside was that their card machine doesn't always work so make sure you take cash just in case.

Lovely Sunday roast, tad chaotic but on an event day.

We went there for Sunday Dinner. The whole experience was amazing. The meat and all the side dishes came out at the same time and not only were they perfectly cooked but they were nice and hot. After the meal, I had a cappuccino and again was perfect and hot. Di (the chef) is fantastic.

Such a shame as lovely pub but won't be going back due to drinks prices. Appreciate recouping following the pandemic but only had half a larger and standard diet coke and cost £6:50

We went to organise a DND session, staff were accomodating and the food and drinks everyone had were great.

Sorry for the 2 stars. I like the venue for a quick drink and the staff are so lovely But the quality of food we received during our last visit was not good. Table was booked in advance, but was not big enough to hold every one. People had to sit on the edge of the table with no space for a plate. And some of the food was raw. Especially the burgers. But we did get a refund for them. Will only visit for drinks from now on Sorry

Nice place to chill after a hard day's work

Went here with a group of friends and had the Texan steak baguette and chips. Which are HOMEMADE! Not many places do homemade chips in the area, would definitely recommend!

First time eating here, had the Texas BBQ Burger, and I must say best food I've had down Swansea. Service was great, prices are reasonable and overall vibe was excellent. 5* hope to go again

Would have give 2½ stars but you can't do ½ star so given it a 3. Absolutely gutted to have had to give this place such a low score because we had heard great things about the food here!! It was not great! My partner and I called in here on Wednesday 1st June for lunch and a drink. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who asked us to look at the menu and then order our food & drinks at the bar. Decided on our meals and ordered. Drinks quite pricey! A ginger beer and pint of Carling was £7!! Food arrived, I ordered Cod & Chips, my partner had the Beef dinner. Cod was good size and batter was light, chips were OK and good size portion of mushy peas. My partners food was awful though!! Beef was so grissely you could barely chew it, carrots were disgusting, spongey and had a really strange taste, sweed came cubed not mashed and were solid, Roast Potatoes were so salty. Gravy was already on the food, not served in a boat and was lumpy and far too salty! My partner was only able to eat her boiled potatoes, cabbage and yorkshire pudding, after she scraped off the gravy! Her dinner was inedible! Her dinner cost £8.99 and was disgusting. My partners plate was almost as full when we left as when it was served!! Won't spend our money here again. The place wasn't even busy, at the time, apart from the 2 of us, only 3 other people were eating, so it can't be blamed on that! Extremely disappointed, what a waste of money!!

Had a Sunday lunch with family, very dissatisfied, gravy was like water, meat was chewy, tasted like packet meat, staff weren’t the friendliest either, no parking spaces are available, didn’t finish our meals as we left halfway through. Do not recommend this place I definitely will not be returning.

Very friendly pub. Staff we’re very accommodating finding us a table for five by rearranging tables when they were very busy. Food was good and the atmosphere was spot on. I would highly recommend this pub. Thank you.

Went here for a meal for my daughter's 21st birthday, they were very accommodating and managed to seat our party of 9 at 2 tables next to each other (rule of 6 still applied) The staff were very friendly and helpful with our dietary requirements (1 Gluten-free and 1 Lactose intolerant) and even made my youngest daughter some dairy-free garlic bread! She was very impressed. They have a good range of vegan/dairy free and gluten-free options. Only complaint is that they ran out of gluten-free beer (I had 3) All in all a very pleasant experience.

Staff very friendly. Christmas roast was lovely with a selection of veg. Gravy was tasty. Turkey was unavailable. Beef was disappointing and gave the impression of a deli style cut of meat rather than carvery roast. Would purchase again.

It wasn't the best but nore was is it bad my turkey dinner was OK but others that were with me said the beef was bad and they couldn't cut it properly also asked for apple tart with ice-cream but they brought me with custard but that wasn't a massive problem as I eat it any way so overall OK don't think I'll visit there again though

Wonderful to be able to return to the Westbourne with confidence. Our party of 12 were greeted and our orders for food taken at the table. Food was generous and good value as always. Spotless with just enough screening to be safe. Busy lunchtime trade. We stayed 4 hours. Have booked table for next month.

Ate outside as a large family group for an early evening meal. Enjoyed the food, though the pizzas and baguette meals on the menu were particularly good. Service was great, very fast and very friendly. Sitting outside, was pleasant despite the fairly busy road.

Visited this place for Sunday lunch. Great selection of beer and lager on tap. The Sunday lunch was huuuuuge and very generous on meat. Lovely little outdoor area to enjoy the sun. Can be difficult to find parking spaces near by as had to park quite some distance away.
