Having dined in The Jackdaw several times, I'm consistently blown away by the sheer quality of the food and service. Chef Nick's talent is undeniable. His dishes are inventive and original, showcasing the very best of Welsh ingredients with a creative flair that elevates them to new heights. The experience goes beyond the food. We were looked after incredibly well by Gareth, the maître d' who guided us through the menu with infectious enthusiasm and took us on a journey with each dish and the wine list. A true gem in North Wales, a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly authentic and exceptional dining experience.

I thought twice about leaving this review as I know ty jade is a family business and I'm not here to say bad things about them based on a single experience. For 4 occasions in a row I found the restaurant closed when it was supposed to be open. Granted these were 4 seperate occasions by weeks apart but the fact remains. The last 4 times (in a 3 month period) I decided to bring my money to you, and you were closed in advertised opening hours. These were all different days too, weekdays and weekends. I understand that sometimes things come up, but as mentioned above, it has happened 4 times in a few weeks and it is very frustrating when I turn up to see the shutters down again. I can see this business is managed on Google, so chucking out a revised temporary time, or putting out a post advising customers of potential problems is a 2 click job. Other improvement points/annoyances are: This place is still cash only in 2024. Just shows the shortsightedness of management. Everyone is entitled to have their views and beliefs but not offering card payments is a huge let down for customers. The quality of the food is inconsistent. I had amazing, fresh food here a few times, but about as many times I had old, hard, chewy chicken. If you happen to drive by, and happen to have cash on you, give them a try and you might end up eating something nice and fresh for not a lot of money. But as a destination it should be avoided as the opening times is the most unreliable I have ever seen. I know I won't try it again...

The pied piper of Neath. After a look day blundering around Wales and before stepping on to the train bound for london my esteemed colleagues and I ventured into this fish and chip emporium. What a delight! Fabulous Fresh cod in a delicious beer batter. I think the chips may have been cooked in some sort of lard perhaps anyway callorhorrific perhaps but truly delicious. By all accounts the meat pie was a win too !

Absolutely love this place, popped in for a cuppa and a cheese scone recently…which was just amazing!😋 Such a lovely chilled atmosphere full of beautiful works from local artists. Can also vouch for the art classes with Oriane who is a brilliant teacher! And also the wonderful meditation sessions with Philomema x

The Wilton is exceptional. We had a room on the front overlooking the Pier, the room was comfortable and clean with complementary refreshments and good free WiFi. Ideal location for buses and the town. Good Breakfast selection and excellent food quality. The owners Jo and Paul are extremely helpful and friendly. We'll definitely stay again. Thankyou
