Got ourselves a takeaway and my god!!! Some of the best food goin chicken sag was banging and the onion bahji were good too still crispy after being in a bag on the way home. Defo recommend

Fabulous curry restaurant. With great tasty food, excellent spicy curries and lots of other items. Super service and very helpful owner who talked over the menu with the grandkids and then us. 7 of us really enjoyed all our food and left talking over who had the best curry. Most of us thought theirs was the best. So a very good curry house and highly recommended. All the grand children left clean plates. Now that's a first.

My brother and I took our parents to this restaurant to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and the service and food were excellent. It was a lovely night at affordable prices. A brilliant Indian-Bangladeshi restaurant.

Picked up a takeaway yesterday evening from The Jewel In The Crown, Pwllheli. As it was a takeaway I have not rated for atmosphere, only food and service. The meal was ready for collection at the agreed time, so 5 stars for service. I ordered Chicken Tikka Rezala with pilau rice and plain naan bread. The chicken dish was particularly excellent, delicious, really well spiced with large succulent pieces of chicken. The naan bread also deserves a special mention as a really good example of how a naan should be. One tip for top enjoyment - and this is not a comment on The Jewel In The Crown, its100% about my husband's impatience/incompetence - if there is going to be a 15 minute time lag between collection and consumption, check the food temperature and maybe give it a little boost in the microwave before serving onto a plate.

Was recommended to this place, absolutely lovely food the staff so friendly and very reasonably priced, would highly recommend!

No complaints with this place. Considering all in the area, I can assure you that it's good. The curries were as expected, naan bread was fresh and the mushroom rice was not greasy. We ordered the mixed platter starter for 2 people, but got and paid for 2 of them (a genuine mistake I believe). They do offer a 10% discount for NHS workers, which was gratefully received

Was our first time in the area and came here based on the reviews. We’ve eaten Indian/Bangladeshi food all over the UK and this was by far the best we’ve had. Staff where so friendly and accommodating aswell.

Myself, husband and daughter on holiday in West Wales. We booked online for an early evening meal. We found the restaurant to be friendly , we received great service, the food was excellent, the meat very tender, and cooked to perfection. We would definitely recommend the Jewel and the crown as the place to go if you like Indian Cuisine.

First time takeaway from here, I was very disappointed in what was supposed to be Chicken Tikka Madras. Very watery, no flavour, apparently no chilli as it wasnt hot. Just like liquidised tinned tomatoes! Garlic naan was just as tasteless. Won't be going again. Worst curry I've had.

Lovely experience, Unfortunately needed to leave midway through the meal, and the staff were so understanding and accommodating to ensure that the food ordered was delivered and more. I would definitely recommend it.

We visited the Jewel in the crown tonight as a family of 5. We love a good curry and are often sceptical about trying new places, however we are on holiday so had to take a stab in the dark and they did NOT dissapoint. They were extremely welcoming and fantastic with young children there customer service was outstanding. As food the food it was exceptional! We would highly recommend and hope to come back and visit again in the future!

Really enjoyed our visit to The Jewel In The Crown. Service was quick and the dishes we tried were amazing. Our teenage son said his Chicken Tikka Masala was the best he’s ever tasted! I had the chicken curry which really was delicious. The staff were very attentive & manager was a real friendly character & made us feel very welcome. Definitely a place to try if you’re in the area.

Really nice food. Had the popadoms for starters with the 4 trays of condiments. Very good. The chicken tikka bhuna and rogan josh mains with garlic naans were very tasty. Excellent!

When we came in we weren't sure the restaurant was really open for lunch because of how empty it was inside. No one to be seen but a waiter noticing us after we stepped in. But, they were open and had a lunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu. We had to wait quite a while before the waiter finally came to take our order, even though the restaurant was completely empty and we were sitting with the menu closed. With only one vegetarian option on the lunch menu, that is a big let down for an Indian restaurant, which normally has many vegetarian options. So, I ordered the Saag Paneer and a soft drink. The soft drink came and the waiter put it down quite roughly even spilling a bit of it. The waiter's attitude throughout our visit was lacking care. After that the Saag Paneer came, and it looked beautiful. The paneer was beautifully grilled and tasted perfect. The rest of the dish however, was way too sweet. This was also the case for my girlfriend's dish, the chicken tikka wrap. The sweetness ruined the dishes for both of us, dishes that could have otherwise been great. Back to a positive, the portion sizes are great. Lastly, outside was mentioned you could pay by card, and there was an obvious pin machine at the register. However we were not allowed to pay by card, and had to go out to the nearest atm to get cash.

Food was absolutely impeccable, easily the best Indian for about 50 miles so can’t go wrong if it’s out of your way! Service and atmosphere was top notch the guys made us feel very welcome and food came out fast and hot; can’t go wrong!

Good quality Indian restaurant and takeaway. The food has always been Delicious in recent times. Excellent Tandori king prawns and onion bhajis. Back again August 2023: I have to say this restaurant is so good now. The food was as good as I could have hoped for. The flavours are superb. The standard is very high. I need to recommend some dishes: the Tandori king prawns main course is beautiful. Big butterflied tender tasty prawns. The family recommended special of lamb cooked with fenugreek and spinach is as good a dish as I’ve ever had..a taste sensation. Very lean tender lamb in a delicious sauce. The onion bhajis are crispy and light. Meat samosas are as good as you’ll get anywhere. Better than everywhere else. My friend said their chicken dhansak was gorgeous. The nans are superb as are chapatis. The rice is light and fluffy and top quality. Seek kebabs also very good. Trust me the chef or chefs here in 2023 are at the top of their game. I think we’ll try a Balti and a rogan Josh next time as we always order the Tandori king prawns which are stunning. Best food in the area.

Hi I'm Richard. On holiday from Lincoln and fancied a curry. Ordered over phone and a nice guy answered. Had popadums with pickle tray, king prawn madras, pilau rice, three chapattis and an Allo Gobi side dish. In a nutshell the food was excellent. About as good as it gets. Amazing flavour, quick service. One of the best Indian meals we've had. Lamb tikka was tender cooked to perfection. Chicken pakora spicy and well cooked. From the poppadoms and pickle to the main course cannot fault it at all.

If only I had taken pictures to allure the taste!! This has been one of the best Indian cuisines, along with many others, found in North Wales. Requested a delivery, great service with a smile! The food is as if it was Mums cooking. We were invited for a dine in experience, which we are taking up!! This really is a hidden gem. Great friendly staff who can’t do enough for everyone who enters, The food is great with very generous portions. Give the packed spoons a miss and walk the extra 3 mins up the road to a great restaurant.

My son has never been in a Indian restaurant only had takeaways, he loved the curry he had and ours was lovely, spices, flavours were fantastic, the staff were busy but still attentive to every customers needs, will definitely go back again when on holiday

Came to The Jewel In The Crown whilst passing through Pwllheli, the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. Service was amazing, and the food was top tier. The starters were amazing, and their curries were immaculate. Definitely recommend to anyone around (or visiting near) Pwllheli.

The restaurant was quiet (Tues evening early doors ). The service was friendly & excellent however, the food was even better. I went for the Chicken Ceylon (not on the menu) but prepared by the cheff as an old time favourite. Reasonable priced & take away discounted due to a cash payment. Would I visit again? Defo with a big D. Thanks to all for making me & my wife's dinner a meal to remember. Will be visiting again soon. Parking not the best but well worth the short walk.

This place came recommended by some local people we talked to. We ordered a lot of food for 7 people and everything was beautifully cooked and incredible taste. The staff when ordering over the phone and then meeting them in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Honestly, I couldn't recommend them enough. You'll not be disappointed. If we're ever back this way, this will be on our list for food again. Yum!

This place is diamond in the rough. The chicken chatt is to die for and the tikka masala was the best I have ever tasted. Recommend if you travel to Pwllheli, this place is a must. Staff are very welcoming and wanting to please. Great time, looking forward to the next time I visit.

Had lunch at the Jewel in the Crown on Sunday and really enjoyed it. The service was second to non, staff on duty were polite and helpful, Really, really enjoyed the food; I don't usually opt for Indian food on a Sunday afternoon, but will certainly be paying them another visit. It was quiet, but no complaints from me on that score.

Great food and great prices. Have been visiting North Wales for my partner's 30th birthday and we really fancied an Indian. The Jewel was perfect. Had a great draught pint of Cobra and some poppadoms and chutneys to start before we tried the shared starter platter for 2, butter chicken, garlic naan and plain rice. Was all thoroughly enjoyed and if we:re ever here again, we'll make sure we pop in!

Quiet restaurant with lovely staff and great food. I ordered a vidaloo and the waiter thought as a kind gesture to get me a glass of water, and the rest of the staff are also very kind hearted. This is most likely to be one of the best indian restaurants in the local area. Wouls highly recommend for a nice meal and great time with the family for affordable prices.

The food was good enough as such but a bit tasteless. My wife ordered 'butter chicken' but came home with korma (the korma was very good but it wasn't what I wanted). The naan bread was very hard, like almost nothing edible at all. I would avoid this place in the future.

There was a large group of us in the place, which was prebooked, but no other custoners at all. The service was friendly but poorly organised, once people had there currys they had to wait ages for there rice, so the hot plates we had to start with were soon cold. No hot plates on tables to keep food warm. Vegtable curry was way too salty, was offered something else on the menu but too late by then as fed up with waiting. The coke was flat should have been tested before poured. Sorry wont be going back.

Saturday 22nd October, called at 5.25 to see if they could fit 3 of us in for tea,yes for 6 o'clock, we arrived early and were made so welcome,came and took our order for drinks and food straight away,food came and was absolutely amazing the taste was second to none.then mazz came over for a chat what a lovely guy,we would definitely recommend here to good to be missed 5 out of 5 for us thank you to all of you

Quick stopover, called in local Wetherspoons which was busy, but both fancied a curry, so we made our way for the real thing, managed to fit us in with no notice, service was quick, timely and the food was good. Obviously liked by the locals as they were doing a good trade in takeaways also.

We are visiting the area and wanted to eat out. We'd passed the Jewel on the Crown but it hadn't appealed from the outside. But then we read the reviews and decided to ignore the first impression and give it a go. Abs were so glad we did!! It's an absolute "gem" of a restaurant! The did is delicious, the staff were really friendly and the service great. When we're back in Pwllheli we will definitely be back. Moral of this review. Don't judge by appearances only!

Jewel in Crown Indian restaurant My parents visited last night for first time . They phoned me to say it was amazing fresh hot food , staff and service was top notch . My parents can be quite fussy about eating out . They both would recommend this place. They definitely be going back . And wish the owners and staff all the best in the new venture, keep up good work Pat and Colin. 👍

This was amazing ( the guy told me to give him a review )so I took that idea and did it overall it was worth it and It fills you up easily but you will wanna go back and it takes a long to get your food, does not mean you can't go that's why I give it a 5 star but rating out of ten definitely 10 and that's me gone Stan

They got the main part right which is the food. All the food was delicious. The curry was full of flavour and the meat was fresh and tasty. No complaints at all. The restaurant itself, however, needs sprucing up. They don't have table cloths on any of the tables and the toilets were extremely shabby. Would be nice if the waiting staff looked the part too as they were all wearing their own clothes rather than a nice uniform as you would usually see in Indian restaurants. All the staff were very friendly though.

Came away to the area last minute, and happened to come across this place while looking for somewhere to eat. How lucky we were, because this place is absolutely superb. Fragrant, well-seasoned and beautifully presented food with particularly good meat off the grill, that went down wonderfully with Cobra on draft.

Impeccable service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good selection of vegan options. Generous portion sizes - the staff offered me a takeaway box for my leftovers, so bonus points for avoiding food waste!

Went here last night on the off chance we could get a table since we hadn't booked. The staff were happy to give us a table straight away, the friendly service we received throughout our meal was excellent. Being from the curry capital of the UK, we have tasted some amazing food and some not so good but this place blew us away!! From the chutney tray through to the naan, everything was fresh, hot and very very tasty. A definite return is on the cards when we are next visiting family and friends

Little secret gem inside is fresh& clean staff lovely, service great, food was amazing some of the nicest indian foods ive had the lager good n spirits not over priced. Staff attentive but not to pushy allowed us to sit awhile after are food highly recommended

Whilst on holiday we craved an Indian takeaway. The Jewel in the crown didn't disappoint. Ordered and only had to wait 35 minutes. The food was hot and very tasty. We will definitely be back and be recommending to our campsite.

Easily one of the very best curry experiences. Everyone on our table loved it. I had the house lamb and cabbage. Delicious. And above all very friendly staff. Food arrived quickly as well, although they were busy with table service and take away orders. Yummmmmmmy!!!
