Rubbish service, workers are absolute reprobates, my sausage was mouldy and my pint was eggy

Booked a table for lunch at 2pm today. Had a delicious Sunday lunch and was out of there by 2.35pm. Excellent service, thank you.

Good food and beer, decent atmosphere. Drinks are in my opinion expensive for the area. Most lagers in excess of £5 a pint

Honestly couldn't ask for a better reception. Booked a hall for partners b day absolutely Brill . Even at short notice they fit us in . Cheap as chips to book the room upstairs held 50 60 people easy . Well worth what we paid for it . Even went along with our plan to surprise my partner . Couldn't ask for a better pub .we'll done guys thank u from the bottom of my heart legends honestly . Mike and Emma

I visited The Brown Trout on a whim whilst passing through. I wasn't disappointed. The landlady is lovely, and I spoke with a lot of the locals who made me feel very welcome. The food was great and good value. I'll try to get back here when I can!

Had an amazing night celebrating our daughters 18th birthday in the beautiful function room upstairs, Cath and her staff made us all very welcome and was served with a friendly smile. Everybody had a brilliant night, can highly recommend the Brown Trout for all functions, and food was amazing and loads of it, no one left hungry. Thanks guys xxx

Been upgraded went for Sunday Lunch and enjoyed my beef choice. However three of the party had the lamb option, very chewy and fatty. Lamb is fatty but this wasn't the best.

Went for a Valentine's meal. Food was beautifully presented and was stunning. I had the prawns to start and could easily have had them as main. Then came the main, wow! Delicious fillet steak cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit.

Had Sunday lunch here and was delicious I went back for a 2nd visit for a 40th birthday family meal and was told when booking there would be a specialist menu as coming into the festive season. When we arrived we were told they are no longer doing this and an alternative menu was in place. The choice was limited and the kids menu was minimalistic. The food was of adequate portion size and Expensive.

I went last night with my hubby for a meal... A last minute decision... It was brilliant... The steaks are excellent and so was the service... We had lovely smiling people serving us and had a wonderful evening Deffo recommended... Thank you x

First time visiting pub, large family gathering all food was preordered. Very impressed with how quickly brought out all meals and altogether and not one of us had any complaints. Lovely meals and friendly attentive staff. :)

The staff were lovely, smiley and very welcoming and the Sunday roast was delicious. I had the beef which was delicious and tender also a good selection of beers on tap. Thanks guys, will be returning on a weekday to try that menu out.

Sunday Lunch Booked quite late on Thursday for 2pm Sunday without difficulty As it is so close we walked there and even arriving early we were met with a great welcome and shown to our table. The restaurant was reasonably busy and very tastefully decorated for Christmas and had a splendid real log fire The menu was a Christmas one but lots of choice: Chose a wholesome Tomato & Basil soup ( home made 👍) with a sizeable crusty roll, and a trout pate with plenty of bread and a zingy mustard side for starters Main course was a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus a side dish of red cabbage and sprouts plus a turkey jus, and the Tournedos Rossini with a request for the pate to be served separately ( came in its own ramekin) Both meals were served piping hot and plenty of it - really wholesome A bottle of Pinot Grigio in an ice bucket went down very well We did want a dessert and asked for perhaps 10 minutes respite which didn’t seem a problem The staff here are very attentive and friendly Dessert was an individual Christmas pud with plenty of sauce and a chocolate brownie with a welcome addition of a shot glass of Baileys As there was enough Baileys left we then had two very nice , strong black coffees and a glass of port This was an excellent venue and great value for money although perhaps the markup on the wine was a little steep Perfect place for families and couples alike and are dog friendly too Will definitely come again and would heartily recommend Thank You 🎅🤶👍

The food is OK but bit overpriced

Came for food and a few drink. Shared a huge 32 oz tomahawk with my partner, which was superb. Drinks were great. Service was fantastic and the pub is very well cared for. Will definitely be revisiting some time soon.

Haven't been here for years, since long before it changed hands and became the Brown trout. Lovely pub and gorgeous food. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

Visited the Brown Trout after a friend said the steaks there are out of this world. So I did what any sensible person would do and booked a table for two. Pub is easy to find and a nice covered seating area was at hand. Staff were very friendly and attentive and looked after us both. I had the 32oz tomahawk steak which was a special on offer at the moment. It was indeed out of this world and one of the best steaks I've had. Do yourself a favour and if you visit and the tomahawk is available. Order it.

Went on 18/6/21 to celebrate with my family, parents any grandmother. Birthdays, GCSe and a level results. Wonderful friendly atmosphere, the team there went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and excellent value for money. We had steaks and I have to say they were the best we’ve had. The kids had burgers which they both loved. I would totally recommend!

This was my first visit and was well impressed. The staff were very polite and friendly. My cousin and I ordered steak, and I can honestly say, one of the best steaks I've had in a long while. Top marks 5⭐

Haven't been to this pub for a while it was the New Inn then. Has Ben nicely refurbished since. Not a large menu but it seems that steak is the main focus. I had a dragon burger and my wife gammon, both were good. Real chips a bonus.

Lovely friendly staff, cosy feel and well refurbished. Has a lovely room you can hire upstairs for parties and events etc. Regularly practise here with my ukulele band - staff always welcoming and accommodating.
