The best restaurants in Scotland

We often get take away from kantipur, however decided to try out the restaurant and it did not disappoint! The buffet is incredible and we won’t hesitate to return. Staff are always so polite and friendly. Kantipur is our choice for Indian take away, it’s the best in the area by a mile. We absolutely love the chicken tikka chasni, naan is always so soft and fluffy. Great value for money and the food is always so tasty. 10/10

Amazing bar full of most unusual beer.

We ate here two nights in a row in early August. The menu changed each night so there were new things to try. We gelt some of the food, such as the starters, were over priced for the portion (£8.50 for two small croquettes) but they were delicious. However, the slices of cake we got for pudding were easily big enough for two (the picture shows two half slices on one plate) and each only £6.50. The cakes and puddings we had were all top notch A*** (esp choc ganache) so worth coming in just for coffee and cake even if you don't have a meal. We booked in advance via WhatsApp for 6pm dinner: Wed night it was quiet but the Thursday was heaving so glad we booked. The food we had was c. £20 for a main course and was really well made and delicious. Portions aren't huge but were sufficient. There isn't a kids menu so the first night we shared two meals between the three of us and had pudding, but the second night we had a main each. The Island Cafe is cheaper than the Coll Hotel and has a nice home made, welcoming feel to it with local art and two linked rooms, one with sofas and tables and the other just tables. The serving staff were nice young people. My partner also had coffee and cake here and the cakes really are very good (I hear the Chelsea buns are to die for too) and my coffee-snob partner says this is the best coffee available on Coll.

Coffee is good but oh man the pizza is the best I've had.

Nice golf course that provides a healthy challenge. There had been a lot of rain when we went but it drained reasonably well. Only complaint was the clubhouse was closed when we finished a Sunday afternoon round so couldn't have a drink after

We called ahead & booked The Glen Seafood Platter for 2 Absolutely delicious, smoked mussels were a taste sensation. One of the best seafood platters we have had, great value & all superb Great service & atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping off here if you are in the area

This place with the scaffold doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s truly a wonderful place with freshly prepared food to a very high standard of quality, the enchilada wouldn’t be out of place in a great Mexican restaurant, same with the pasta in a great Italian

Drove here, almost an hour, just to get the information that it is not allowed to bring the dog inside. There is absolutely no information anywhere.

Food was amazing and the servers were all so friendly

I'm no expert on Sri Lankan food, but this food was AMAZING! More so considering it's being cooked/prepared from a small kitchen in a food court. I'm not local, and it's a shame they don't have more restaurants, but will definately visit next time I'm in Edinburgh

Amazing burger one of the best chicken burgers I have ever had and at a great price point too!

Food was great and arrived well wrapped.
