We called ahead & booked The Glen Seafood Platter for 2 Absolutely delicious, smoked mussels were a taste sensation. One of the best seafood platters we have had, great value & all superb Great service & atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping off here if you are in the area

Lovely meal tonight, lamb shank and Balmoral chicken, both delicious. Couldn't resist an apple crumble and a cheesecake to finish.

Stopped in for brunch, the staff were very accommodating & the food was very tasty with large portions, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely meal here last night whilst staying at nearby carradale bay campsite .very well run with pre booking and pre ordering system which means meal arrives very promptly ...(and food fresh with minimal wastage) Service excellent and we were suprised that our waitress was working her first shift as was excellent .

Visited here as our hotel didn't do food, we booked in advance, arrived to a really wonderful welcome and our table laid ready for a tremendous fish platter, the best we have ever had, very worthwhile visit, locals were friendly too, a real pleasure to visit x 💞🍽️

Love that they do a take away menu now, we can't eat in the restaurant as we have our dogs with us on holiday. So we gave them a call and picked up our evening meal. It was lovely.

Called into The Glen Bar at the end of a walk. Prices are very reasonable and the staff pleasant . Great menu, but unfortunately, it was our last day in the area, so we could not try the seafood platter for two, which sounded delish! Will definitely come back to Carradale as it has so much to do, including getting acquainted with the menu at the Glen Bar.

We just got back from a wonderful seafood dinner at The Glen. On a windy, rainy night, the coziness of the fire, the warmth of the welcome from hosts May and Bill, and the remarkable seafood dinner were soul-soothing. May and Bill were generous both with the meal, but also assuring us safely home on a night when we had planned to walk back to the village itself. We would recommend this as a "must do" meal on the Kintyre Peninsula. What a feast! We’ve had 10 dinners now on this trip to the UK and none of the others come close !!!! Bill and crew took excellent care of us and made us feel at home. Bill picked up fresh fish, langoustines and scallops for us this morning at Carradale harbor 😳😆 There’s Nothing like a fresh seafood dinner that’s been expertly prepared, and these folks know how to do it right. Terrible with a capital T . Had to order food a week before we arrived had, which is more than difficult had wrote we might want a soup but gave a fixed order for mains. The soup just appeared without even the conversation of what it was. It turned out to be the worse soup ever lumps of fayy bacon floating innit.the lady who serves us had no manners and did no communication until it was time to pay avoid at all costs. We also got greated at door by drunken yocals thinking we are the police. I don't think they get out much. W

I have been staying on the campsite in Carradale and called into the Glen Bar for a pint yesterday. Lovely bar and surprised to get a pint of Guinness under £4. Bar was quite busy at lunchtime serving food which looked good. Decided to go for lunch today. I had seen they did fish and chips on the dinner menu but not lunch menu. I asked and they said yes it was available, just a 20 min wait. It was one of the best fish and chip dinners i have had and the homemade tartare sauce excellent. Highly recommend.

Lovely place place in a great location, popped in for a light lunch last weekend and was really impressed throughout. From the surroundings to the friendly staff, our food was freshly prepared to order and was great. I'd have no hesitation in visiting when I'm in the area again and would gladly recommend The Glen Bar & Restaurant to anyone.

Great Fish and chips worth a visit

Just had coffee here, it was a pleasant place, well organised and well spaced tables, felt organised and safe

A lovely spot to have lunch. We stopped in to shelter from the weather on our bike ride. We were made to feel very welcome despite being soaked through from the rain. Friendly staff, attentive service and tasty food.

Nice bar and restaurant serve food till three then from six. When busy call for reservations. Macaroni cheese and chips . Steak pie chips. Went down a treat. We did ask for no salad and veg . Got what we asked for. Not many places actually give you what you want. Well done

We have had two excellent meals at The Glen Restaurant. A range of seafood, lamb or chicken curry, soup and sandwiches, and all-day full breakfast (sausage, haggis, eggs, Mushrooms and more.

Delicious meal (we had Cullen Skink and Portobello mushrooms starters and Beef curry and Chicken Thai curry for mains). Food absolutely fabulous. Lovely staff... great service. 👍

Very good restaurant with several vegetarian options. Very friendly. We stopped there in the morning for a coffee and returned for lunch.

Mr and Mrs Affwurheids, being on days off at the same time, and at a dead loss as to what to do with ourselves, my nurses outfit being in the wash we decided not to have mad "Tantric Sex"all day, but to check out the new menu at The Glen Restaurant in Carradale. We braved the potholed goat track that used to be called the "B842" and arrived "shaken, not stirred" at the said venue in pouring rain. However the place was great. A big logburner roaring away at woodmark 10, lovely decor. Loads of space between tables and most importantly, friendly attentive hosts. The food was astonishingly good. It was tasty, well presented and came in generous helpings. AND!! They do their scallops in breadcrumbs!! Properly cooked tender scallops, not the semi raw rubbery "pencil erasers" you get everywhere else. The mushrooms in stilton were devine (they will do this dish as either Portobello or button mushrooms) as were the huge fishcakes made with locally smoked fish. I had the chicken done in some really yummy sundried tomato sauce mullarkey. Everything was great. The house white wine, at £5 for a large one was really good value and the Affwurheids resident wine expert gave it 10 out of 10 and had at least 6 just to make sure. We actually originally went for lunch and ended up staying till 1900hrs. So if you live in Kintyre, or are visiting Kintyre, and are fed up with the same gash menus week in, week out, you should visit The Glen, Carradale. It's almost as good as Tantric Sex......
