Cù Mara Bistro & Takeaway in Argyll & Bute

What the village has been missing! Now the Bistro is open, there is an a restaurant to be proud of, Derek and the team have really given Arrochar, Succoth and Tarbet somewhere to get great food. Locally staffed and giving back to the community. All the produce is local and fresh. The curries are flavoursome and authentically cooked, flavour hot not Westernised spice hot. Pizzas are not mass produced circular but have irregular shape from being homemade. - Pineapple is acceptable on a pizza!!

Ordered for collection and had to wait 25 minutes! Food is reasonably tasty but the wait is far too long, especially when you order to collect for a certain time.

Met with 2 other friends who were visiting the area. I had a classic burger and my husband had a chicken burger. We thought these might have been the best burgers we've had for a long time. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Cute little place with a nice view.

Another fine and very tasty experience this evening at Cù Mara. The pizza dough is consistently exceptional (better than in many top Italian restaurants) and toppings excellent. Service was friendly with a very relaxed atmosphere in this great wee bistro. Well done Cù Mara team. We'll be back.😋

Takes some time to get your order but the food is worth the wait, good selection of beer. Had fish and fries, loved it!

Food was incredible. One of best burgers I've had in a long time. Wife had waffles and chicken and she loved that. Choc cake to finish was extremely light too. Music was classic indie and made for a good atmosphere, glad we ate here and will definitely visit again if we are up this way again.

First visit with my family today. Friendly staff, lovely environment, excellent food! The "Tequila Mussels" starter was incredible delicious! You deserve more than 5 stars for sure!

Luckily we got a table here without booking because it soon became busy. The food was delicious, great prices and the service was great. Great atmosphere. The chef even did our dog some plain chicken which was so thoughtful and kind of him, thank you very much!

Great little takeaway kiosk on the shores of Loch Long and views of the Cobbler and the Arrochar Alps. The ham, pickle and mustard bagel is delicious.

Family here from Inverness and decided to try the takeaway. What a great decision. Service was excellent from placing order to collection everything was easy. The food was fantastic and everyone got what they wanted and enjoyed their meal.

Busy wee place, glad wee booked. Fyne ales on draft. Burrata starter and spicy highlander pizza were amazing Visited again. Pizza Margherita was lovely, still doing Fyne ales on draft.

A perfect place to have lunch on a rainy day. Very nice service, a cozy interior, and delicious food! We had mussels, Culen Skink gnocchi, and burrata salad—all were super good!

Please turn the music down, blaring loud all day unable to have a conversation without shouting, seems to have got louder over the years. Great place, great vegan food selection (thank you), but need to learn to make coffee properly as a flat white is not a giant latte in a mug. Overall needs a bit of TLC

Didn’t know what to expect here. Staying at the Forest cabins across the Loch, and decided to support local as we always try to do. What did this place hold? Absolutely top notch place. Decorations internally are cool, and the menu is just right- not overwhelming- just the right level of burgers and pizzas, with a few special little bits added in. Can’t fault the service. Everything takes as long as it does cause it’s getting cooked fresh - I don’t mean we were waiting long at all, but it’s not mass produced rubbish like so many chain restaurants. Fab service from the team as well. Spotted there was cheese on something we’d requested without, and immediately switched it before it got to the table. I’d say make this a night if you are staying locally. We will return tonight for some takeaway as well. Not sure you can book, and I can imagine at busier periods there would be queue to get a table. Well worth it.

The food and decor were great in equal measure. Such a cool spot, right on the edge of the water. Highly recommend.

Spent a few hours in here on Saturday and everything was perfect. Great food with lots to choose from, great portion sizes, helpful and accommodating staff and was a pleasure to sit in. Prices were very reasonable for the food and drinks. Cannot thank them enough as was a birthday surprise for a friend and the owner popped out for a chat and what a lovely guy Derek was. Although busy we didn't feel rushed but so glad we booked and would highly recommend doing so if you want to try here. The cocktails were also a pleasant treat 🍸 Excellent and very happy😊 oh and a few very well behaved dogs were in which was lovely too.

Cú Mara is simply just fantastic, they managed to fit us in last minute for dinner and it did not disappoint. The chicken waffle burger is a must try, we will definitely be back 🫶 Also to add the cocktails looked absolutely spectacular

Fantastic hidden gem in Arrochar on the edge of Loch Long with a great atmosphere and brilliant food, staff were very welcoming and friendly and the service was great. Dog friendly too!

Popped in whilst in the area. Amazing setting, bistro very nice. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food delicious. Recommend the fish and chips and chicken burger. Did not have pizza on this occasion, but know they are delicious. Dog friendly too! Well worth a visit, they also do takeaway if you prefer.

I had to leave a review because Cù Mara Bistro outshines anything in the area. The decor was stylish and welcoming, and I was immediately greeted by a lovely genuine smile and the whole team treated me like a guest from start to finish. I say this because I'm so used to being treated like I'm an annoying inconvenience when I visit restaurants. I had burger and chips which were amazing! After being out on a tough ride all day and being soaked to the skin the food couldn't have been better. Absolutely top marks and the only place to eat

Service very very slow and had to ask 4 times for a jug of water. 1 of the starters was then forgotten and main fish and chips was awful- very thin overcooked fish covered in a crisp hard batter- inedible and chef offended when I complained saying others had enjoyed it- may well be but this is the first meal I have ever returned in all my life!

Visiting from Bedfordshire. Ate there in the evening, ordered the haggis burger. Was so nice! Really enjoyed the meal, the staff were so friendly and the interior decor was cosy and inviting

Excellent. Staff are brilliant. Went in on a busy Saturday evening without a booking and staff were nice to accomodate us. Food is delicious. Pizza is proper Italian baked. Coffee is delicious. Highly recommended.

This is a really nice place. Small. Cozy. Food is great and the service as well. We are pizza which was better than most places.

We dropped in on our way up north for lunch and loved it so much we stopped on our way back down a week later. The staff were very friendly, the Thai soup was amazing and the decor really nice. It was busy both times and we plan to try and go after 5pm next time as there are items on the specials board only available then which we were tempted by.

Came for lunch and the food was incredible. These guys know how to serve chicken!!!! Loved it.

Wow, we stopped by to het a coffee, but ended up with a Scottie Hotdogs! Impressive ones! Best hotdogs i ever had.

We went here last Friday for dinner and it is an absolutely amazing little restaurant. The staff were lovely and service was exceptional even on a busy Friday night. The halloumi fries were some of the best I have ever had & I had the Cullen skink gnocchi for my main course, it was outstanding and so so delicious. The portion size was good too, we'd have loved dessert but we were both too full! This is my first time here and I will definitely be visiting again and recommending Cù Mara to my friends.

We had a lovely meal, we are very fussy about restaurants and highly recommend this one.

Really disappointing. Slow service, and poor food with cheap undercooked ingredients, lacking any taste. The decor is nice but the key reason you go out to eat is for the food to be decent, so if that’s what you care about, I’d recommend trying somewhere else.

Have had both a dine in and takeaway over two nights. The food is very tasty, the staff are very attentive and make the whole experience very enjoyable

A welcome retreat from the howling storm! Went for an early dinner with our dog. Best burger I think I’ve ever had (the Ultimate Burger) and a delightful beer to wash it down. Also homemade coleslaw 👌🏽 and chips were perfectly cooked and served hot 🔥

Got takeaway pizza and it was brilliant as was the pastrami bagel i returned for the next day

The BEST resturant around. I ate here 4 nights in a row. The food is exceptional and the staff are so sweet. 10/10 would recommend! (P.S try the veggie burger!!)

Stopped in for dinner after running around Loch Lomond all afternoon, service was exceptional, with very friendly staff. If you haven’t had Haggis before like us and you want to try it, this was a great place to start, but aside from our first time experience with that local delicacy, the Cu Mara Ultimate burger and Classic Burger were very flavorful and delicious!

Bistro & Takeaway is a bit misleading because you can actually get some great food at this place. It's kinda small inside, staff is friendly and food was really good. Also they offer a nice selection of beers. We arrived early, but in general I guess it's recommended to place a reservation (some people couldn't get a table later on).

What a find. The food was amazing and the staff were so welcoming . They welcome dogs and provided water for my wee dog I highly recommend this wee place if you are passing through Arrochar.

Took 30 mins for very basic food bland food

NO GLUTEN-FREE!!!! Headed here after 9hour drive from norfolk. Food looked ok. They claim gluten-free options are available, but in reality they cannot provide gluten free meals!!!!

This place is absolutely incredible. Hands down the best veggie burger (beetroot) I've ever eaten. Super tasty, and well worth a stop (or 2 or 3!)

Food is really excellent here and the venue is lovely. Smoked haddock as fish and chips is a wonderful idea. Pizzas, burgers, dogs and chicken all superb. Whoever is behind the kitchen really knows what they are doing.

Lovely gluten-free pizza. It is cooked in the same oven so there is cross contamination but the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable about warning us regarding celiac and allergy information.

We had a very tasty meal here and a pleasant time with our little daughter. The tequila mussels with the flatbread were to die for and the portion was perfect. It was a bit cold, but bearable with a fleece jacket.

The food and service were good for the none coeliacs in the group. Unfortunately all the gluten free options were not suitable for coeliacs due to only one fryer and a small kitchen so I couldn’t eat there.

Ok nice big portions. Staff run of feet. I had a Scottie dog it was very nice. It’s like an American dinning but not all American food. Some Italian.They do pizzas burgers Hotdogs ok American come Italian. It’s small so your best booking a table.

IF - the two young men, handling the orders and serving the food, had done a job equivalent to the job done in the kitchen - the reading would have been 3x5... Unfortunately, they failed to do so - with flying colours! Sorry guys - you need to do better if I'm ever to set fit here again...

Amazing food classic American diner atmosphere in its best sense with Scottish and Italian touch. Beautiful packaging for takeaway. Incredibly generous portions and music just made our day on the road back to London 🫶🏻

Absolutely epic chicken and waffles burger (go with the blue cheese sauce). Wife's pizza was also very good, as was the loaded fries. Couldn't recommend this more. Good view from outside, though that's takeaway only.

Went for a bite after a hike and did not disappoint. The fish and chips was some of the best I had ever had and loved the little touches like minty peas and samphire served with the fish. Nice atmosphere too!

Had a lovely goat's cheese salad and glass of white, my friend had a delicious pizza, stupidly I left my handbag behind but the delightful owner went out of his way to meet me there early next morning to return it to me. Excellent place.
