Fabulous Tapas bar in cold & breezy Aberdeen. Very personable service. Dishes are authentic & well prepared, served speedily but fresh. Excellent gambas, croquetta and patron peppers along with steak strips and the classic pan Catalan. The take on sticky toffee pudding was light & tasty. Nice Rioja & PX sherry and a Carlos brandy to finish with coffee. £80 for one person after a 10% gratuity.
Went late afternoon prior to going to the Music Hall. Impossible to find any fault at all, the service was excellent as was the ambiance, the meal was first class and we were allowed to take everything at our own pace. Highly recommend Amore and look forward to our next visit
Not been for a while but was confident they would cater for my food intolerances as they have in the past. I'd ordered a vegetable korma to be made with coconut milk & no dairy. I was very specific on this. However, going by how I reacted a short time later it obviously had dairy in it. Won't be back.
Husband had chicken tikka masala & he wasn't right either, though not as bad as myself.
Care should be taken for those of us with intolerances or allergies. Sadly this was not the case.
Came here for lunch and it was lovely. I had the mozzarella and roasted veg ciabatta and it was delicious, my mum had the lentil soup with a cheese scone and she said it was nice. The coffee was also really good quality.

I visited this restaurant during lunch (served from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM) but it also open during the evening (5:00 PM to 10:30 PM). The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, with a strong family-oriented feel. The walls, painted white with a cave-like aesthetic, give off an old-world Italian charm, which adds to the unique ambiance. There are many photos on display, which I assume are of the owners or people involved in the restaurant’s journey—a nice personal touch.
The restaurant is quite lively and bustling, making it clear that it’s a popular spot despite being slightly hidden. Given how busy it gets, I highly recommend booking a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
Now, onto the food—it was outstanding! The lunch pricing is fantastic for the portion sizes, with two courses for ≈£13 and three for ≈£15. The starters were just the right size—not too filling but a perfect prelude to the main course. My carbonara was absolutely delicious, possibly the best I’ve had in Aberdeen. The tiramisu was on the smaller side, but considering how satisfying the starter and main were, it still felt like a great way to finish the meal.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, regularly checking in with guests to make sure they were happy with their food. Their warm and welcoming approach really added to the overall experience.
A couple of small areas for improvement: while the restaurant is generally clean, attention to detail in hidden spots could make it even better. For instance, the radiators had noticeable dust inside, and some table covers showed slight wear and tear. However, the tables themselves were clean, and the menus were in good condition. The ladies’ restroom was modern and well-maintained, which was great to see.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be returning. The atmosphere, food, and service make this a fantastic dining spot!
I’ve been here many times over the years and loved it. Now twice in the last year I have been so disappointed. Gave it one last try, but now I won’t be back.
The fish was good (not great last time). Fresh and crispy batter.
Why I won’t be back? Something is wrong with the chips. I can’t put my finger on it. They are maybe dry and almost burnt taste. Dunno if it’s the oil needs to be changed or using frozen chips instead of making them.
They were the same on my last visit but thought it might be a one off bad batch.
This was supposed to be a treat while travelling but feel so disappointed.
Read other reviews with the same comments around the chips but also people saying they love the chips - so I dunno if this is just every now and then they are bad.
Ignora los gemidos ocasionales aquí - el menú era pequeño (una opción si 4 artículos abeto cada plato), pero la comida era excelente y el servicio también era muy bueno.
¡Regresaremos!
I used to visit regularly when this place opened. This is my first visit in years.
Great staff: friendly, polite and knowledgeable. They provide a great service in a comfortable and welcoming bar. Seats are mostly booths now and music is discreet. Craft beer prices, obviously and wide selection of styles and strengths. Sraff can guide you through them.
The toilet is unisex, but clean. It is an improvement on the original set up, and that wasn't bad either.
