My absolute favourite place to bring people for meetings! Fast service, very kind and delicious foods

Been coming here since 2022, latter half of my undergrad year and man does it continue to impress. Lovely food, great team, always a lively atmosphere, excellent outdoor seating. Thank you for giving all on and off campus a caffeine kick and a place to be no matter what reason.

Very nice garden, usable even when it rains. Totally nice service and the food was fresh and tasty.

Came here for brunch. The Tagliatelle Puttanesca pasta was disappointing, no taste and overcooked. Pesto pasta was also overcooked. Coffee was very good.

My favourite cafe in Aberdeen! Been going for 5 years and it never disappoints. They do amazing coffee (best coconut latte I’ve ever had and proper strong Americanos), and delicious homemade cakes and cheesecakes!

Downstairs is the best coffee in old Aberdeen, and those cheesecakes are lethal!!!

The crepes and pasta tasted looked and smelled excellent. The chocolate cake was rich and delicious, the chocolate brownies were even richer, and the cherry cheesecake was amazing.

We had an amazing break there with my family. Food was very good, service was more than friendly and quick. This break brought sunshine in this rainy day. Thank you so much to the staff.

Food was disappointing largely because the bread was so tough I couldn't cut it. I think this has become overpriced for rather mediocre fare.

Delightful cafe with indoor and outdoor (at rear) dining. Crepes (cooked by a Frenchwoman) are divine! I had the Chèvre. Amazing caramelised onion showed me I hadn’t had properly caramelised onion before this! Many different cakes to drool over, hard to choose! (See photo for some examples) I got the lemon drizzle to take away for later, but would have gotten cheesecake if I was eating it then. I didn’t like the coffee, but I also hate Starbucks, so me not liking it might be a recommendation? Not wheelchair accessible: multiple sets of stairs. Menus in photos at 15 June 24

Best coffee shop in old Aberdeen! Great cakes, good coffee, and a brunch to fall for!

Great little cafe. Ideal for a short break in the university district. There is a floor to sit on and a nice outdoor area.

The café is more than magical. Food and drinks can be taken away or eaten on site. Since the garden invites you to linger, we stayed there. A good decision. The service is extremely nice and accommodating, the dishes (scones and cheesecake) are very tasty! Prices are reasonable.

Female and male waiters this afternoon of 7th May were friendly and polite. Strawberry & nutella cheesecake was delicious!

We really liked the atmosphere of the cafe, it feels quite minimalistic but comforting especially with the food they served. The food was lovely but we felt like the halloumi were on a salty side, more than usual, slightly over salted possibly at least for our taste. The plate that the salmon tagliatelle was on was chipped in three places as seen on the picture and also had some red sauce on the outside of it, that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 as this could be improved on. The salmon tagliatelle had a lot of onion as well or taste of onion, the salmon was lovely though. The chicken penne was lovely as well. We ordered Fentimans Cherry Cola which we both loved and also Pomelo San Pelegrino. Both drinks were very nice, at the end we got to Fentimans to go as we really liked them.

Wonderful Café. Staff are friendly and the food is lovely. Take some time out and pay a visit.

Such a lovely, quaint cafe, absolutely delighted that I found it here, on Google. The service was excellent, the waitress not only recommended stuff to try but also made sure we were happy with what we ordered. Would be visiting again and highly recommend to others too.

A bowl of coconut spicy lentil soup was delicious, and the scone was very light, with a hard outside, just the way I like them. A bit pricey but hey, welcome to 2024.

Quaint lunch eateries. The staff are warm and welcoming. If you are planning on lunch best to book to avoid disappointment. Large array of cakes. Highly recommend this place.

The cafe is quite homey. The staff were really nice, and got our orders quickly. Soup of the day was delicious, as was the cappuccino and scones (one of the best in the city) we ordered. Will definitely go again

Great coffee, but be warned, it is very busy being at the center of the campus. They also have a large selection of food and sweets, along with a pleasant patio out back. Would recommend as a student and visitor.

Kuscheliges kleines Café über mehrere Etagen in Old Aberdeen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Ganz lieb. Wir hatten Tee, Cappuccino und Salat. Das Essensangebot ist sehr abwechslungsreich. Der Salat war lecker. Mir fehlte ein schönes Dressing und die Menge an grünem Salat war etwas übersichtlich. All over aber alles fein.

Always a favourite for me, great menu, nice atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. The Tzatziki salad is a favourite for me, and the cakes are amazing, especially the cheesecakes. I think the prices are fair for the quality of food and service. We like to sit in the garden at the back or get take away and enjoy them in the botanics. £1-£10 if having coffee + cake, £10-20 for lunch etc.

The place is right next to the university and it's got a nice old world charm. It's a great place to hang out with friends and the food never disappoints. Their soups and falafel salad is a must try.

Oh wow. This was not so much a restaurant lunch as it was a wraparound friendly and tasty experience. The staff were quick, efficient, and acted like a well-bonded team, helping each other and their customers to get the most out of lunch in this quaint setting, with a multitude of rooms and outdoor spaces that must make it difficult to get around with plates of hot food and cups of delicious drinks. A request for travel/place information was passed on very quickly to someone who had the answers and I felt like I was in the friendly hub at the centre f Old Aberdeen, where students, tourists and locals are all made to feel special. The soup of the day was an interesting "broccolli, spinach and pea" combination, which was also offered in a half portion and, trust me, that's quite enough along with the (possibly artisan?) bread, but if you combine it with an outrageously large-but-scrumptious scone, well, you might struggle to progress to the lovely cheesecakes I saw others enjoying. Judging from the number and variety of happy customers, lots of people agreed with me. Going back to treat my friends some time soon.

There are a number of cafes and restaurants in Old Aberdeen this was a great choice for us. The cafe is located upstairs and there is a takeaway downstairs. Once upstairs the cafe is compact, and it was pretty busy. The menu choice was perfect as we were hoping for some soup on a dreich day. We also had coffee and cake to complete our visit. All in all we were well pleased with our visit.

My friends and I have been visiting Kilau since we started uni here in 2019. We love it so much that all our family have visited too now! The staff are always lovely and the food is consistently delicious. I love going for the soup of the day and the cheesecakes are the best I've ever had.

Wonderful cafe. Excellent coffee, delicious food - we had the vegan breakfast & the sweet potato crepe - & the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. Sat in the sunshine in harming courtyard garden. Friendly & efficient service. Highly recommended.

Came here twice over two days (a Friday and a Saturday) and it was great both times. Really nice little terrace in the back, and really nice staff who went over and above. Good sandwiches on sourdough, too!

The coffee is great and the muffin! One of the greatest coffee in aberdeen I must say and very good service. Unfortunately not a place for student to have coffee and study or work even located in Aberdeen University.

I've not been here in a few years, but stopped off at the weekend for a coffee as I was in the area, and the coffee is still some of the best I've ever had. I also had a brownie which was lovely too.

On my first visit to Aberdeen, came across this cute little café which has the most welcoming team. Coffee was outstanding, cliché but I have not had better. Surrounding area is quaint, near University of Aberdeen.

Somehow, one of the most expensive coffees in Scotland. I thought because it was inside the university campus it would be cheaper… I got charged £4 for a latte? Not sure if they were trying to scam me. There are much nicer and cheaper places around. Will never go again.

Lovely place with friendly staff and a positive vibe around. Great variation of coffee (including half caffeinated) and the cakes are very tasty. I love their almond chocolate cake.
