Croft and Cairns in Aberdeen City

Made welcome . They had McEwans export on tap at a very reasonable price. Loved all the paintings of customers in the bar I will have to try their menu one day. Definitely go back for another visit. Harry

La cena de Navidad en el Croft fue la peor cena de Navidad que he experimentado. Estábamos reservados para 1600 y llegamos a tiempo, un hombre con jeans y zapatillas con un portapapeles gritaba nombres y señalaba mesas. Nos sentamos en la nuestra. Una camarera se acercó diez minutos después y dejó caer unos tenedores sobre la mesa, y dijo: “Volveré con los cuchillos, todavía están en el lavavajillas”. Cuando llegaron estaban empapados. Después de sentarse a las 1600 , los entrantes llegaron a las 1655 . Los que estaban tomando sopa dijeron que era tibio en el mejor de los casos. Los platos principales llegaron alrededor de 1745 , no me gusta el pavo, así que tenía la verdura wellington que era lo suficientemente sabroso, pero todo lo demás en el plato era piedra fría. El yorkie probablemente podría haber roto una ventana si se la hubiera tirado. No había servicio de mesa para bebidas durante la cena de Navidad. Varios miembros del personal pasaron junto a la mujer en la mesa de al lado de nosotros furiosos vapeando y soplando sobre nosotros y no dijeron nada. Decidí no quejarme demasiado dado que era el primer intento de los pubs en Navidad. . pero comenté en un post de FB sobre las comidas que se ofrecen en Nueva York y recibí el siguiente mensaje de la dirección: “No es necesario ser un idiota en Facebook. Soy uno de los propietarios y esta es la primera vez que he oído hablar de su problema. ¿Por qué no nos envías un mensaje antes o vienes a verme? Con clase.

En primer lugar muy buen personal amable y buena comida con grandes porciones. Lo que está fuera de lugar y ha sido así durante años es que la puerta del inodoro masculino siempre está abierta y huele horrible. Se cuela en el restaurante y arriba y te pone fuera de su comida. ¡Peor cuando alguien va a hacer un número dos el olor se intensifica! Vergüenza como un gran lugar, pero oler s##t mientras comes es un gran NO NO. Tuvimos que irnos, fue tan malo.

Went for Sunday lunch as heard it was delicious. Well let me tell you IT WAS NOT. Waited over an hour for 7 meals that came out 1 at a time, after being in the microwave. So instead of eating as a family all together we all ate at differs times one at a time. Food was less than average, portion was large but most of it inedible. After a having a word with the staff 2 chefs came and apologised for one microwave being fused in the kitchen so they were only working with one. Will not be back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

First time eating here with family since it changed owner. Food was all delicious 😋 Even the kids menu is made from scratch and not processed chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc like the usual pub food. The bumpt into the owner and spoke to him as we were leaving and he said I could ask for anything on the menu to be adapted for myself (vegetarian) next time if needed as everything is cooked fresh and from scratch. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Will definitely be back again soon. Highly recommended. It's very hard to get somewhere that is worth the money and very much enjoyed.

My visit was for a funeral. Staff couldn't do enough.

Went for breakfast I asked for poached egg got a black fried egg not fit to eat ,also another person got eggs that were not cooked ,we asked for toast got hot bread ,coffee was also cold .was told the chef had a hangover unacceptable.won’t be back anytime soon.

Our first visit here. Clean and tidy inside belies its slightly rougher area appearance from outside this housing estate centered bar and restaurant. My wife and I had the Croft breakfast of one each of egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash brown, tattie scone, and beans. Our grandson opted for the Cairn which is double the amount. Toast was served with both plates. Fast friendly efficient service. We will be back!

This was our first visit here when we went for breakfast with our grandson. Limited menu but perfectly adequate for breakfast. My wife and I opted for the Croft breakfast of one each of bacon, sausage, tattie scone, hash brown, and black pudding. I had a fried egg and my wife had a soft poached egg. Beans in a separate ramekin, and toast completed the plate full, all for a fiver. Our grandson went for the Cairn which at £8 was double the size of ours. Excellent friendly service in a clean and tidy dining room. The premises also has a bar with a pool table and sports programmes showing on wall mounted TVs. We'll definitely be back!

If you can get any food that is dont seem to be willing to feed oposing dart teams though I had to go to kebab shop next door

On a visit to Aberdeen for a wedding, we saw that this pub restaurant was recommended, and booked a table for 9. Very impressed with the quality of the food and size of the portions - great value for money. Also very friendly staff, and great photos on the walls of some of Aberdeen's most famous sons & daughters. If I'm back in Aberdeen again, I will be paying this establishment another visit.

Back to the standards it was at the beginning. Food was excellent, portion sizes still massive, will be back next week. Welcome back Chip! You were missed!

Sorry I was too busy stuffing my face, so my picture is half way through my meal. The food was outstanding, from the sweet meaty burger, to the balsamic vinegar on the side salad. Highly recommend. Staff were great too

It was great to be back at the Croft and back to how it was when it first opened. Top class service, even getting plates to show portion sizes before ordering. My favourite chicken Maryland is still on the menu and it was just how I remembered it and cooked perfectly. When my friend couldn’t finish her meal she was given a takeaway box to take home so no food wastage. One of our favourite places, really recommend giving it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely dining room and the food just beautiful. We had the macaroni pizza and mushroom pasta and shared as we suffer from food envy!! The pizza was very good but the mushroom pasta was the nicest dish I have ever eaten. 11 out of 10 from me.

GOOD pub grub is what’s on the menu at Croft & Cairns in Stockethill. I could write a review …. but, no need. The pictures speak for themselves. Great choice, excellent value, full-on flavours. Our only quibble? There was far too much! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great food and great friendly staff

Wow..been here now 2 times since I discovered this place and it is only 10min walk from my flat. The food is amazing (mac'n cheese was one the best I have ever had in my life). Try anything in the menu and I bet you wont be dissapointed. Also to point out they do affordable and amazing cocktails as well!

The people are really nice who work there and always helpful if you need help choosing what to have they know what is good on the menu. They have now started a cocktail room and it's good you can also get it at the restaurant and they do mocktails for the kids too.

Really good food and very well priced. The waiter was also lovely. Definitely a hidden gem in Aberdeen. Would recommend the pizza and the desserts. Great for a casual family meal.

A truly wonderful dining experience situated in a quiet location with easy parking. The food is delicious, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the menu has something for everyone's tastes.

My family and I went here for Sunday lunch, and were really impressed. The food was amazing, particularly the ribs, the kids meals were great, all portions were really generous. The service was exceptional, they couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely be going again soon.

first time ive used this place and will happily use again, i had mac & cheese it was lovely ,you could really taste the cheese in it .

Been there twice now and on both occasions the quality of the food was excellent and for such quality, the price was very good value. The staff were professional but at the same time friendly, tonight our main serving staff were Fraser and Tom, both lovely lads. The area where the restaurant is situated and the décor maybe leave a bit to be desired but the food and the service more than makes up for this. My only real criticisms would be their lack of proper coffee at the end of the meal and their cheap paper napkins. (We were offered instant?) A small pot of proper coffee and a decent paper napkin would add to the experience.

2nd best mac & cheese in Aberdeen, Wife's is 1st, service was good, if there was some back round music I would of given the rating a 4 star,

Very good service very very good food

Food is incredible and portion size definitely worth the cash. Cocktails are a delight and go down easily. Old fashioned, albeit not on the cocktail menu and bartender happy to make, is tremendous.

We came for a meal on re-opening night and it was just as good as before. Food and service was amazing! Love the refurb, I popped into the new cocktail lounge and looks great, can’t wait to try this. Will be back next week!
