Such a cute Micropub! Sam, the landlord, arranged a retirement ‘do’ for me in the upstairs function room, with drinks, a platter of pork pie/sausage rolls/chutney and a generous cheeseboard, which everyone enjoyed. The feedback from my guests was entirely positive!

I was expecting a truckers cafe, and this was great, there were good honest food, good prices, great bacon butties, and soft fried eggs, mugs of builders tea, just fab and we will stop next time we’re passing for sure

· Wow where to start, I found this gem while visiting the local area. The inside is very warm and cosy and beautifully decorated. The staff were so warm and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. No impersonal self-check-ins here people! My room was on the top floor and can only be described as a cosy little snug. Gorgeously decorated with pretty lighting and an illustration of a castle. The bed was decent and had a lovely tartan rug on top. I was delighted to see there was a pretty antique-looking writing desk and chair in the room with plenty of space to hang clothes and store bags. There is a nice bath in the bathroom and this is the first place I saw had a proper bath matt as well as a matt in front of the loo. No moving the thin little matt around with a foot in this bathroom! I loved the fact that I could open the window in both the bedroom and bathroom. Pleasant continental breakfast, and decent coffee. The evening meal I had here was scrumptious everything on their menu looked amazing. The dining room had so much ambience and music in the background was not over loud meaning people were still able to talk to each other. Parking right outside. Bravo! highly recommend. I ended up booking a second night. Would visit again.

We stayed here on our way through the region. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. And has lots of parking. Absolutely recommend. There is also a neat castle you can walk to not far away (Dunnideer) and some standing stones.

Farmers do know good food and will pay for quality.Nothing wrong with the "old" favourites,Mince tatties skirlie Broth, Tattie Soup,Steak and kidney,Macaroni and well filled pies.Rice Pudding,Crumbles,Eves Pud,Apple Tart.Best wishes to continued success and see footfall increased.

I ordered a baked potato at 11.45am on 04/01/25 at the start of lunches. When it arrived, it was really burnt. I started to eat it, but then brought it to their attention that it was so dry & burnt. They offered to return it to the kitchen & was off to bring it to the kitchen’s attention! I declined to return it & picked away at it, because by then, that had put me off my lunch. I mentioned this when paying for it, & I had been given a price reduction of 10%, which resulted in a mere 99p off my bill. I find that insulting & won’t be eating there again!

The chippy is just up the road from us but we probably only pop in to get chips once a month to go with a meal we are making. The chips are always good these days, as is the service and the staff are really helpful. On more than one occasion I’ve seen them going above and beyond to help out a member of the public. Also really pleased to see the phasing-out of polystyrene trays and plastic bags in favour of paper and cardboard over the last few years. Fish could always be bigger but you could say that about any chippy these days and the last few fish I’ve had have been really good. Highly recommended.

Me and my Dead by daylight Comp Team (SIGMA) Where strolling through this town and spotted a 'rainbow chinese' And then we realised is this Feng min from dbd?? If you don't get this reference "Feng min" is a playable survivor in DBD from China. This was a great chuckle with the SIGMA team! We decided to head in and order a Feng min special. I could almost taste the bloodpoints that were coming out of this meal! Great DBD Chinese 10/10 reccomend!!
