Did not stay in the hotel but enjoyed a first rate lunch - a gargantuan portion of steak and ale pie with the most tender beef and delicious sauce from a good menu with daily specials.Very friendly and efficient staff.Very good local beer and fresh coffee

We have been in Ullapool for 4 evenings, eating differently each evening And the cooking here was the best I had lamb chops with an excellent dauphinoise potato followed by really good unusual apple and gooseberry tart with creme anglais She had a chicken breast stuffed and excellent cheesecake Memorable But the waiting staff were miserable dull uncharming sad and the room was hash lighting and ambiance

Very disappointing, low quality ingredients and plated up with no imagination. Prices are average for what was on offer, but overpriced for what was presented.

My other half booked B&B for one night, just for the hell of it. I’ve given our stay a 5 ⭐️ review. The setting is lovely, service was excellent, plenty of staff, they were all lovely & very attentive, we also had dinner, the menu is not extensive but the choice was fine and the food when it arrived was excellent, clearly all home made & delicious, the biggest fish & chips I think we have ever seen! 😆 Our room was very snug, barely enough space to walk around the bed, there were tea & coffee facilities in the room but the funky lighting made it a bit difficult to get to the tea tray easily, no chairs, only the bed to sit on and the en suite had a sliding door, which I feel always indicates space is tight. The bathrooom was small but modern, clean and the shower was full sized, the towels were big, soft and luxurious, what more do you need. There were the usual hotel noises from other guests, we could hear those above us walking about, water running, etc. I think we were just jealous because 3 steps and we were in our en suite, 2 steps to the door, no opportunity to move about. 😂 However, come night time we slept really well, not a single noise before 7:30ish and no sound from outside or cars at all. All in all 5 ⭐️ are deserved, despite the small room, we don’t stay somewhere to sit in our room and the service, staff and food were all faultless. Would we stay again -absolutely.

Good, plentiful food. Specials menu changes daily. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Craft beer lovers’ heaven, but wine available, too.

Was having a family Christmas lunch there were 4 adults and 2 children, we were welcomed in,all proper procedures were adhered to, server asked about allergies before we ordered great but went down hill fast from there 3 of the adults had carvery we were asked what meats we wanted 2 wanted all 3 1 wanted gammon and turkey that was all we were asked. When the meal came she did not know what was on plate.Potatoes, vegetables etc were already on plate not in dishes to take what you wanted (as we were not asked what we wanted) the food was not even look warm and there were very full plates went back, it was not even asked when the server saw the full plates if there was a problem, as this was a Christmas family lunch and £60 we were very disappointed and would think twice about visiting again.

Had to laugh at other comments....I think they love their microwave in the kitchen!!!!!!husband waited a good 15 mins for his apple pie and custard....we had all eaten our cake and coffee....so the lady behind the counter says chef is making the custard....so another 10 mins and out comes the apple pie and tinned custard that was overheated in the microwave and literally attached to the side of the plate

Visited the garden centre with my Sister today and whilst there thought we would have a light snack. Neither of us were able for a full lunch so asked initially for child portions of chicken goujons each. We were informed by the Manager that they didn’t serve child portions to adults. Ok can understand that the child’s portions included other items like juice etc so we then asked for an adults chicken goujon which we would share. Adult price was £14.50. Manager asked if we wanted two plates and we obviously said yes. When the bill arrived it showed 1x half chicken goujons x 2, however the total price was £21.60 instead of £14.50 ! We did state that they had made a mistake (how can 2x half chicken goujons be more expensive than 1 portion ?) but neither the under Manager of the restaurant nor the Manager were helpful and we were forced to pay the inflated price. Disappointing as we used to enjoy our visits to the garden centre but based on this latest visit we will not be going back

We found this to be a pleasant shopping experience. A great stop if you’re on the road to the north of Scotland, or even living locally. It was clean, well presented and we were very impressed with the butchery in particular. The quality on offer was very good. The service we encountered from the staff was great. Loved the log burner in the cafe, and proper tea pots make for a great cuppa.

Booked for lunch on 2nd January. The restaurant was busy being the holidays. Lots of positives from our visit. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and working hard in the busy surroundings. The food we received was excellent- hot, freshly cooked and good sized portions. Very enjoyable. The only criticism was the long wait, firstly for our drinks and then our food. We only had 1 course and had planned to have desserts however due to the lengthy wait we ran out of time. We enjoyed our meal and will certainly return.

This is becoming very much a favourite for us. We have started phoning the day before to reserve produce to collect the next day. We have a quick once round the shop to see if there is any new products to add to our order consisting of 1/2 lb steak pies for my father in law who just loves them, 1 lb steak pies for ourself along with apple crumbles, scones, short bread to a total of £78, worth every penny. Then we go into the restaurant for lunch. Both of us are soup lovers so we settled for potato and leek to start, then my wife ordered a g f ham and cheese toastie, I opted for a cheese and onion toastie with coleslaw on the side. To wash it down the wife had a cappucino, I settled for a diet irn bru. We were both well satisfied set up for the rest of the day. A worthwhile trip. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.

Stayed here for just 1 night while exploring Balmoral and the local area. Room was lovely with a stunning view over the Loch. Even had time to try the golf which was a nice little course. Found the owners to be nice and friendly. Would stay here again.
