Harbour Spring Peterhead in Aberdeenshire

Was having a family Christmas lunch there were 4 adults and 2 children, we were welcomed in,all proper procedures were adhered to, server asked about allergies before we ordered great but went down hill fast from there 3 of the adults had carvery we were asked what meats we wanted 2 wanted all 3 1 wanted gammon and turkey that was all we were asked.When the meal came she did not know what was on plate.Potatoes,vegetables etc were already on plate not in dishes to take what you wanted (as we were not asked what we wanted) the food was not even look warm and there were very full plates went back, it was not even asked when the server saw the full plates if there was a problem, as this was a Christmas family lunch and £60 we were very disappointed and would think twice about visiting again.

Rooms are nice (and very clean). Staff are friendly and helpful. Food not so good at all. The actual scampi (inside the crumb coating) was microscopic ... I have had much better, at a similar price, recently elsewhere. I’d happily pay a few more quid for decent scampi. My peas looked as if they had been squashed by something heavy ... and garden peas are meant to be pea-green, not dingy olive-brown. It needs to be better.

Carvery is up there with the worst plates I have been served up in my life. The cauliflower was the only part that got pass marks. The rest of it is unlike any other carvery I have had before in terms of taste and texture. Had the choice of small/medium/large portions - granted it was a sizeable plate of food for a small, however this is not to any advantage when the food being served up is dire.Even the pint of Tennents was served in a regular beer glass (which any lager drinker will tell you dilutes the quality).Lesson learned - will not be back.

Been here many time's they do there very best to accommodate you , friendly staff, food is good just the roast potatoes need to improve tho lol

Have been to Harbour Springs a couple of times and it was great. They have really looked at making sure everyone is safe which Track and Trace and a one way system. Felt very safe and the staff are super friendly

Was out with my family for a meal. Did not know what to expect as was my first time sitting in a restaurant after lockdown. It put my mind at ease when i walked in. Greeted by the friendly staff meal was perfect and lovely. We all enjoyed it. Thanks again guys.

3rd night of 6 night stay & yet again a refrigerated lorry parked for the night no sleep again tonight

Myself and family visited yesterday and to be honest I was apprehensive, with covid and not sure what to expect, but I can honestly say that the experience was spot on. From the minute we arrived to leaving it was so good. The food was great, no complaints from anyone in our group. Kim and the staff are doing a fab job and I hope it continues.Thank you!

A lot better than the first time i was here. Foods alot better but sometimes the carvery is a bit poor.

Myself and business associate, went there lunchtime for fish and chips, the menu did not say what type of fish is was, I was assured it was cod,no way was it cod, I'm in the business, the young Waitress went to check with the Cook, he said it was cod,long story short, marsdens have there fresh fish delivered from England, I questioned this, and said you are in the biggest white fish ports in Europe, and you get your fish send up from England, unbelievable but very true, the manager only took for the to coffees we had, we will not eat there again.

Visited with friends for evening meal. Wasnt very busy, but still had to wait for service. Staff were friendly. Food was a dissapointment. Pleasant surroundings.If they could make more effort with the food it would be worth a visit. Been twice now and no change. Could improve.

Very good rooms clean Which is the most absolute priority to be staying in a clean environment! Hotel main door we seen open through-out the whole night each night which is scary when you have travelled along way to get here not knowing this town. I would suggest a phone in the room as we had to run over to the restaurant for basics like sugar e.c.t throughout are stay. we have had to purchase are own milk and keep it fresh as possible due to the lack of communication you have with the staff and no fridge in the room. All staff have been so lovely and welcoming. Didn’t enjoy the food carvery was hard full plate was left due to this. Unable to fault the ladies here regardless the stay here was very nice but 100% suggest a phone in the room to communicate with staff members or somebody in charge and a fridge or cooler in the room to keep your milk and things fresh. Thank you so much for are stay we would stay here again.

Went there today with my wife for our lunch, absolutely lovely carvery meals, service was excellent, hygiene very good and staff very friendly.

have stayed here on a few occasions now.The hotel is relaxing and very clean, good sized rooms and comfy clean beds. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Good location and accessible to local shops and attractions. Restaurant and bar is on site with local food places close by also. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

I went for coffee and breakfast here with my friend, its our usual place the food is always OK and love the coffee here. Today we were served by somebody who was beyond rude!!! As we are dieting we asked for poached eggs mushrooms and tomatoes a healthy breakfast, it arrived to our table after a short wait and the staff member who brought it commented as she put it on our table with "I know you want a healthy breakfast but really???" we were appalled at this comment who was she to judge us on our choice of breakfast? How very rude of her!!At leaving my friend paid our bill to which the same woman said "that's 2 breakfast concoctions?? How she has a job here is a mystery and after today we will not be returning here again!!!

Visited three times this year and can only praise the big improvement in the food. Some excellent deals on the menu.

Visited tonight with our family (5 of us) 23rd January. Food wasn’t great it filled a hole but that was about it, wished we’d gone next door to MacDonalds. My husband had the carvery everything was dried out, the stuffing was like a brick, the green beans were no longer green, cabbage was unrecognisable the Yorkshire puddings were dry & hard, the turkey was as dry as a bone. He complained to the waitress & she did apologise & said she would tell the kitchen, unfortunately that’s where it stopped, no one came to ask if they could get him anything else, very disappointed that there was no offer of reimbursement as she could clearly see his plate was still full, we certainly won’t rush back that’s for sure. Shame as we always try to support our local restaurants.

Having stayed at the Harbour Springs most weeks for nearly the last 2 years I have no hesitation saying that the place is excellent value for money, the rooms are always immaculate and the food is good and again value for money. The staff work hard and customer focused.

Waited 45 mins for mains. Wasn’t busy either. Portion size small, Carvery was ok. Not much taste. Bit bland.

Thought we would give this another chance after a bad experience in the summer. 10 of us in party 3 wanted buffalo burger but there was no sauce! Asked if we could have the burger with a different sauce but told no! Swapped for the carvery but only turkey available! No corn on the cob and doesn't know what else is finished. No vegan option left for dessert. We are giving up and going elseelsewhere. Here to visit family and am extremely disappointed for a second time. Don't think we will give it a 3rd go.

Was there yesterday as treat from my Daughter, the Carvery was disgusting, the veg looks as though it has been there for days, not very appetising, you were only getting slithers of meat instead of a proper slice and to top it all the plate with meat on was being weighed and then written on the pei e of paper that you give in for a meal.This is the third time I have been here now and a child could cook the food better ???

After being let down on the day of my wife's birthday by a double booking by a local hotel Harbour Spring made room for 19 of us at a few hours notice.Staff was very concerned by our predicament and couldn't do enough to help, all this only 6 days before Christmas.Food and service on the night was excellent with everyone having a great time.I now wouldn't consider anywhere else locally for a family meal

Usually love coming to the Harbour springs . On this occasion the server at carvery was rude and unfriendly , I won’t be rushing back any time soon I’m afraid.

On a horrible wet evening we were taken by our eldest son for supper. So friendly and helpful staff , a cosy table and quickly served meals.. great atmosphere and everything was perfect.lovely meal.

Birthday visit , stayed in the marstons hotel and ate here for breakfast and dinner both days of our stay , breakfast was good , quiet this time of year , evening meal was good choice and lovely place to unwind.

Went here tonight for dinner staff behind bar was ok but went up for the carvery and the chef took a while to come through didn't even apologise then the food was cold and roast potatoes hard and the Yorkshire pud had a funny taste don't think I'd go back again

Girls behind bar lovely and helpful. But carvery must do better. For 2nd time in a matter of weeks carvery served cold! And that's just after noon! Carvery server also rude and unpleasant. She must have had a bad day as she is normally so nice. If this level of service continues your local customers will be no more. Will give you a final try in a week or so and then if no improvement we will be back to the Palace Hotel. Slightly more expensive but food there always served hot and with a big smile.

We stayed one night at the hotel on our way to Inverness with our 2 children and ate dinner and breakfast in the pub. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. I was particularly pleased with the big towels and a hand towel per person, a decent hairdryer and a well stocked hospitality tray with bottled water. These are all things we haven't had in rooms elsewhere on our trip where we have paid 2-3x the price thus Harbour Springs was a bargain for the price we paid. In the pub there are good facilities for the kids and the staff were very helpful. There were items missing from my meal as they were out of stock after a busy weekend but after my initial irritation the supervisor did everything possible to solve the issue, meaning in the end I had a much tastier meal. Again at breakfast the staff member was very helpful and dealt with our requests without fuss. I'm quite fussy due to dietary issues but nothing was too much bother. There was a good selection of breakfast food and drink and a bonus that kids eat free. In all it's been a very please stay, we'd be happy to stay again.

We went to this restaurant today for a family meal We had a lovely carvery, which had a choice of 5 meats, and delicious fresh vegetables.Every thing was hot and fresh , lovely gravy and a selection of sauces.My granddaughter who is normally a fussy eater had the chicken coujons, beans and chips, and cleared her plate.Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. We will certainly be going again for a meal soon.

Shameful service. Left waiting for 45 mins for food to appear. Carvery food was cold and mushy. We also ordered 3 other meals which then finally came it was all cold. Oh also when one meal came back it had a hair in the salad. And was whom I think is management was rude and told us just to email. It’s a joke. 1 star to too good for this place. Terrible service.

Absolutely disgusted by the service and audacity of the staff here! Upon ordering 3 meals and 2 carvery’s, the 3 menu meals were sent back due to them being freezing cold and with about 6 chips per plate. With failure to inform our carvery eaters when to go to the understaffed mess, on top of that, the vegetables from the carvery were mushy and of very limited supply! Shortly after our 3 meals came back and we had been blessed with a brown hair wrapped beautifully around our salad! A treat!Will not be returning.1 star is even generous for this place!

Had carvery meal which was served at 12.15. Just after opening. Food not even warm. 2nd time here and same last time but thought we would give it another chance. Will definitely not go back Place empty I wonder why?

Work lunch - two of us waited 50 minutes for our meal and when it finally arrived it was frozen in middle. Was told the probe had stopped working hence the reason for undercooked food!!! Never heard so much rubbish in my life. Had to wait further 20 mins for it to be reheated.....how long does frozen lasagne take to cook? Service slow. Don't waste your time, better food and service and mcdonalds next door.

Waited a hour for beef due to the till worker not informing us about the wait. When it came out, It was cold. Was not enjoyable to eat.Potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and pea's was alright.Coffee was cold, Barely melted the sugar.First and last time i visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed a carvery lunch here today. Had booked a table in the small alcove area and everything was ready for us. The staff were so friendly and helpful.The carvery food was hot, a trio of meats on offer and a good selection of vegetables and other sides as well as sauces, gravy etc. The helpings of meat were very generous and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Came here to get a roast dinner and its not too bad. Big portions and friendly staff! Been here a few times one was later at night and the food was a bit poor and the other time was through the day and was actually very nice. Definitely go back

Stayed a couple of nights in the hotel whilst working in the area. Had a different room each night due to a late change.Rooms were well equipped to the usual standard. Bathroom was good for the first night but toilet lid was missing in the second room.Bed was comfy, room clean. Ate in the pub both nights. Service was great, food was tasty and good value.Would stay again if I find myself in the area.

We were a family group of 5, and we all enjoyed our carvery, all 3 roasts were great, but the beef was exceptional, very good value

5 of the family 3 up from England visited the restaurant last night we all had carvery and it was lovely We have been to this restaurant a number of times since it opened and can only say it has continued to improve over time The staff, food, ambience are tip top prices are really good We booked a table for 5 and arrived to be led to our table by a courteous member of staff all 5 opted for the carvery meal an excellent choice the meats were gammon Turkey roast beef all cooked to perfection the vegetables lovely especially the cauliflower in cheese sauce My verdict and the whole party was a really great meal and will definitely be back soon.Keep up the good work Harbour Spring you are one if not the best restaurant in the peterhead area Congratulations to all the Staff

Friendly staff. The Carvery provided three sufficient slices from turkey / roast beef / gammon and no restriction from a selection of vegetables served on a hot plate. Order cold tap water. Quiet atmosphere and no pressure to finish your meal.

En nuestro paso por Peterhead, tuvimos la suerte de dar con este agradable lugar para comer. Tiene zona exterior de merendero, un amplio salon con zona bufet y también distintas opciones de menus muy bien de precio y calidad. Hemos comido abundantemente y nos vamos muy satisfechos. Nos atendió James, muy amigable. Muchas gracias desde Seville, por el servicio y la estupenda comida.

We had breakfast here one sunday. Lots of free tables, 1 person taking order and serving. She was very polite. Kids eat free with paying adult. Adult cooked breakfast was ordered, came with 1 slice of bacon, supposed to be 2, the most overcooked hash brown ever, (it was solid and chewy), mushroom was black and shrivelled, sausage was overcooked, hard on the outside and mushy once you broke through the skin, the egg was ok, nothing special. It was dry and really not very nice. The continental breakfast was basically non existent. every juice was near empty, upon requesting it filled up, it was only topped up a little bit, there were no plates, the croissants were burnt and hard, poor choice of pastries, no sugar for the cereal and horrible rolling toaster that burnt the toast. It seemed to be very difficult also to serve 3 pots of tea.... they came out one by one, in dribs and drabs, one persons came without a tea spoon, so had to ask for one, 10 mins later, we were still waiting. Not enough sugar given, so asked, again, non came, had to ask again! by that time tea wasnt hot, so had to ask for more tea!!! All in all it was a disaster and we ended up being there for over an hour as it was very very slow service that certainly was not worth the wait. It was cheap with the free kids, but id rather pay more for better food. Dont think ill rush back. shame as we like to eat in the evening or on a sunday but breakfast was 1/10 for me. things need to change.

Carvary ok but Yorkshire pudding was so hard and dry it shattered otherwise food was great staff very good will be back again as I live in boddam many thanks George.

Semi cold car very with tasteless gravy and totally disgusting veg which was cooked to an inch of its life alcohol policy is really over the top as wanted a lager shandy for my son who was 17 and was refused even after I pointed out that it was legal in Scotland for him to have this with his parents during his meal .never been back

Food not great very slow service and clearing tables. Waited at carvery for someone to take food receipt member of staff called someone to come twice before they came out to serve.

We were attending a wedding dance in Peterhead and decided to stay at Harbour Spring we were not disappointed. Checking in was smooth and everything was well explained. We decided to have a meal prior to going to the Wedding fantastic value would thoroughly recommend the steak deal with a bottle of wine. The taxi to the centre of town was £7 so not too expensive. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We decided to have breakfast the following morning couldn’t fault it. Special mention to Kim who seemed to be everywhere excellent customer service.

Have stayed at the Marston Inn next to Harbour Springs on two occasions now and both times have had breakfast at the Harbour Springs.Staff are very nice , nothing any trouble, friendly but professional.Food is very good, breakfast cooked fresh to order . Adequate selection on continental breakfast.I am gluten intolerant and vegan and I had plenty of choice.Will definitely be going again

Tried to get a meal here last night, 10 minute wait at the till to place n order. I assume it was the manageress that was kind enough to get us a table as it was very busy, table 34! I felt very closed in with hardly any room to move. We sat down and waited! 35 minutes later no food had arrived, I enquired as to what had happened to our order to be told another 10 minutes!!! At that stage I requested a refund, that took another 10 minutes as the girl was not authorised to give a refund. What an utter shambles of a place, forgot to add they had run out of chips! Sorry I can't comment on the food as we never got any!

We had a lovely 1 night stay in early August. Really well looked after from check in until check out, friendly team, we had dinner and breakfast, both great. The hotel is a great base to explore the area. We loved it, and we would return. Thanks!

Had read all the varied reviews and decided to try it out as I only live 8 miles away. I will definitely be back. Booked a table for the wife and I at 18.30.not busy on first arrival but became moreso a little later. ordered food which was served before i finished my first pint. The meal was excellent. Two steaks and a bottle of wine for £20.Great value. I sampled three different beers, all to my taste. i recognised two other parties that evening and spoke to them on the way out, they agreed that value, quality and service were very good. No staff shortage and first class service.

Three times in the past week myself and my parents have visited and left disgusted every time. We are fairly regular customers too. First visit of the week was for a carvery. Had to wait for ages at the carvery deck for someone to come out to serve. The person made no attempt to apologise for the wait and made it clear she did not want to speak. The veg was a mushy mess (certainly not fresh!), there was hardly any choice. You needed a chisel to get through the Yorkshire pudding even when doused in gravy. No attempt off staff to acknowledge us on leaving. We went back two days later, to give them another chance. This time it was for the breakfast. The food was OK, but the cutlery and a lot of the cereal dishes were filthy. Decided to go back this morning to give them their final chance. Never in my life have I been so disgusted with the ignorance of the staff, the cleanliness of the place or the lack of choice. No cutlery was out (there's always cutlery set on every table), no table was set. The members of staff were too busy talking to each other, made no effort at all to come to our table(the place was empty). We decided to go to the continental breakfast area. None of the juice containers had juice out, there was no milk set out either. All this time, we were still ignored by the staff. We decided to walk out and go elsewhere. As we got to my car one of the members of staff started shouting over the car park at me asking what was wrong. I do not appreciate being shouted at from afar. We will never come back to this dump and hope and pray others follow suit. New management obviously couldn't care less judging by reviews elsewhere. Staff need to either be sacked or trained to give a toss and the kitchen porter certainly needs sacking. My dog could do a better job washing up with his tail.

Haven't been in for a while but our youngest loves this place and the 10 veg hidden pasta and asked since it was the holidays could we go.Car park was busy (we went at 6pm) restaurant fairly busy too. Got a booth table no bother.Ordered the black pudding bon bons (3 came in total and are huge), hubby ordered the pulled pork chilli nachos to start, both were really good. Then Fish & chips and standard burger, both very good. Daughter had kids hidden veg pasta, chips and mini dipping doughnuts. Wasn't the quickest of service but we weren't in a hurry, so all good.

We were here one Saturday night with the family 8 of us altogether and waited over an hour for our food. Thought we would give them another try this evening just two of us at 5.15 it wasn’t very busy probably 6-7 tables with couples and fours, there was however a table with about 8 on which came in well after us. Food was OK and main course was served pretty promptly. We decided to have a desert, big mistake, it took them 35 minutes to bring a sundae to the table, this is just not acceptable. A place like this should and normally would be jumping with people most nights of the week but it’s pretty obvious why it isn’t, the service is abysmal. Plenty of other places in Peterhead to eat with far better service

Well am Please to say that on returning to see if things had got better they have more staff better service no more long waits back to its old self pleasure to eat here again and food hot too thanks to the managers who sat up and listened to all of us who nudged them so such a lovely place didn't go under for the sake of employing a few more people

We have been to this restaurant many times since it opened and usually have great service and food. Today we went at 4:00pm - an unusual time of day. For us it was a (very) late lunch / early dinner, we picked this time mainly because we’d been busy earlier in the day and the kids had just had snacks, no meal. Based on the service levels we experienced today, I would say that 4:00pm was a mistake. There were only 2 other cars in the car park so we hoped to get good attention as the place was clearly empty. We did not: there were 2 members of staff on duty. One chap seemed to be doing everything - bar, taking orders, carving the carvery and bringing food from the kitchen to the table. He was lovely and did his best. The other member of staff was less visible.The meals ordered from the menu were brought out but they had forgotten to tell those having carvery to go up for their dinner. Usually they come to tell us that a few moments before other meals come out. Not today. So while we had our dinners those having carvery were standing waiting for someone to come carve and serve. Then we had to go and find and fetch our own cutlery and also we had to go ask for ketchup as we hadn’t been offered any. The food was fine - usual standard, though the cooked carrots were dried out. The jam donut dessert was a bit dry. Everything else was good. We will go again. We don’t want to put anyone off going, far from it. But just avoid going at 4:00pm! We won’t make that mistake again. Go at normal lunch or dinner times when a sensible level of staff are on duty!

Last time we visited I was critical how long it took for a ordered meal to arrive. However this time two went for carvery and two for ordering, it was not very long before we were informed that ordered meals ready so other two could go to carvery.Lovely hot meal and good portion, sweets were excellent and cannot commend staff enough

I arived with my family for Father’s Day after being recommended this place by a friend. I ordered the large carvery, while I was up ordering my food I was meant to get a extra slice of meat and yourky. I was not given the right amount for the money I payed and the food was awful quality.

The Harbour Spring (carvery) is a good example of the category. It's not a pub and it's not fine dining, but if you want decent food quickly and inexpensively, this is a good spot to eat. We've been in several similar establishments, but the Harbour Spring is better than most. Service is friendly, but not the real calling of the place--that would be good food for a good price.

Food was average to good, no issues here. Value very good: charging reasonable prices, service okay but this is a very busy restaurant extremely noisy with lots of kids, not a great place for adults to have a meal and a drink.

We stayed for a few nights with family at the Inn and dined in the restaurant most days. Can’t fault it in any way, the room was spotless and comfortable, the food and drinks were reasonably priced and spot-on, and the staff were amazing - really friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. Shout out especially to Kim who helped us sort out all sorts of stuff, and Aimee at breakfast who was great with the family and elderly parents.Definitely the place we’ll return to when we make the trip back to Peterhead next time. We have been twice in two weeks for Sunday lunch and the staff were very friendly and helpful both times. I had the carvery both times, the first was really good but the server only served me a medium portion. I had payed for a large portion. The medium was enough though and when I went to pay I told the manager and she apologized and changed my bill for the medium. It turned out it was a new server who served me and he wasn't sure about the portion sizes. The food was really good though and I had plenty to eat, the medium was enough for me and you could help yourself to as much potatoes and veg you wanted. The second time we visited I ordered the medium this time and again it was enough food for me, the only issue I had this time was the roast beef was done medium to slightly rare in parts and was very fatty. It was the fatty party that I wasn't too keen on. It still tasted good but I probably left just under a slice in size of fat.I am giving them a very good rating as the staff were very friendly and helpful and I am sure if I had complained about the fatty meat they would have changed it. But I had enough food on my plate to fill me and it was still very tasty.Also all the other meals my family had were very good so they do deserve a very good.Well worth a visit and good value for money. If you have a big appetite then the carvery large portion is well worth it as you would normally get two large yorkshire puddings two pieces of stuffing and three large slices of carvery of your choice. You can also take as much potatoes and veg your plate can handle.

Often vist here meals and staff lovely but last night I felt sorry for them well under staffed starters took a hour to come main meal one hour and 10mins where going to have dessert but thought better of it some staff where reduced to tears as they where taking the brunt refunds where offered but we refused as it's not about the money I do wish the owners of marsdons would please put more staff on a Saturday night two in kitchen and the manager helping out one behind bar which other members of staff had to stop and help out only two on floor cleaning tables serving food and trying to help the one member of staff behind bar the place was heving so not surprising it cracked under the stain they had to turn people away just do carvery till things calmed down staff were very apologetic and some in tears this is usally a loverly place please get more staff !!

Have visited harbour springs many times and never came out saying that was delicious. Usually go for the carvery. Meats are always lovely and tender but always cold. Veg and potatoes cold. Today however came in for a meal thinking they might have improved again ordered the carvery and asked for chips to have on the side. Again cold. Beef and pork was very fatty. Waited and waited for my chips which never came. Left a very disappointed customer. Won't be returning that's for sure which is such a shame as it's a great price for food. Wouldn't even give it 1 star.

I’ve visited here on many occasions and have had a good experience however, most recently the service has been very slow and on this particular visit, my meal was served cold.

We have visited the Harbour Spring on a previous occasion which wasnt very good but thought we would give it another go. We wish we hadn't and wont be returning for another visit.We waited nearly an hour and half to receive our food. There was dirty tables and no sign of any senior member of staff to organise clearing of tables or to chase food orders. A friend asked twice where our food was and we were promised that it wouldnt be long. It wouldnt have been so bad had the wait been worth it but our food was cold and burnt. It wasnt only our table, there were other customers making complaints and young members of staff avoided having to deal with unhappy people by disappearing into the kitchen. We didnt get so much as an apology for the long wait or any explanation as to why it was cold and burnt. We left our meals feeling dissappointed and hungry, so we popped into McDonalds and got a burger.

Booked a table last night for a friend's birthday meal. When ordering we were not informed on any time delay. Waited well in excess of an hour for our food to arrive, had to actually approach staff and find out where our meal was, no apology given. In the meantime other diners had given up waiting and demanded a refund.Management did not approach anyone offering any explanation or apology, it was left to young waiting staff who were obvious not keen to face disgruntled customers and so left tables covered in dirty dishes for a considerable time which was remarked on by several people. When food arrived it was disappointing, salad garnish limp and sparse, burger charred and curry lacklustre. Disappointing experience all round.

Came here to work for the weekend, 12-hour day shifts after 3 night shifts. Kim was incredibly welcoming and friendly when we checked in, then later served us food and drinks. Food was absolutely fantastic, we had the carvery then steak during our time here.Their hotel was so comfortable, was really impressed especially as we’ve been staying at the doubletree in Aberdeen and this is just as nice if not more comfortable.The breakfast was an absolute delight; bacon pancakes was heavenly. Tara and Kim were both so happy to help and provided wonderful service. Thanks for making us feel at home, it’s put a smile on our faces despite our tiredness!Only improvement would be quicker service. Service is just a bit slow, especially when you’re trying to order and you can’t see staff at the front. Apart from that, brilliant place to go!

First time visit left me with no desire to return. Member of staff's welcomed us at the door by telling us she was 'just cleaning up from the war zone of an afternoon '. Staff member's efforts to wipe the table we sat at, just spread grease and ketchup. The upholstered seats were very stained. Carvery wasn't available, despite this meat and veg were still on display. Ordered food from the menu and then waited over half an hour for it to be served. Fat or oil clearly needed changing as the chips were speckled with charred black breadcrumbs. We ate what we could and left. We were not impressed and will not be going back.

Staff wonderful really friendly and welcoming. Could not fault the service, had the 2 for £10 menu had the gammon and lasagne, can recommend both, if you have this menu you can have a starter or dessert for £2 each.

The staff are very friendly however to get checked on took fifteen minutes and then we decided to get our dinner then try again so we went to the carvery and then waited another 5 minutes and eventually got checked in the food was average. We got to the room and it was very clean spacious but the beds weren’t very comfy. I would recommend for a 1 night stay but not for a long holiday.

Quick service had the the 2 for £10 deal. Had the chicken and bacon salad which was nice and my mum had the lasagne which she loved. We also took pudding mum had the tartlet and i had the apple pie. We both enjoyed it. Nice to try something different as i usually take the cavery.

A family party of six went at 5.30 for a carvery.One wanted a burger so we waited fifteen minutes or so before going up to the carvery so we would all be eating together. However we had all finished and another fifteen minutes passed and no sign of the burger so eventuallyhe ate on his own.Carvery was plentiful and hot. Helpful staff

9 of us visited on a Saturday night at 6pm for the Carvery after being at the footy, left at 10:30pm stayed the night in the hotel and went back for breakfast next day. Carvery had plenty of meat, potato and veg choices, breakfast had all the usual Tea, coffee, bread, croissants, jams, cereals and drinks plus a hot full english cooked to order.Nice restaurant, decent food, great prices, excellent service and free Wifi.Big thanks to Tara and the team for looking after us all during a busy time.

Had a lovely meal with the family, food was good, was served quickly and the waitress Shirley was very attentive and friendly would definitely go back.

Visited harbour springs last night for a meal. Friendly service, good food at a great price. Was lucky to visit during steak night so enjoyed a free bottle of wine with 2 steaks. Honestly, for the price it can’t be beaten. The rest of our party loved the carvery. Thank you harbour springs, we will be back.

This place has been below par for some time now but they seemed to have turned a corner now. I gave them another go over the last month or so and have been really impressed by their improvement. The service has been good and they have a new menu which includes a 2 meals for £10 option which is not only excellent value but has proven very tasty and appetising also. I have had the classic burger 3 or more times over the past weeks and at all times it has been tasty, hot and juicy. My wife had the chicken and bacon salad which she has really enjoyed and today especially with a generous portion. The chef who prepared our food today was Lina and if that standard of food today is maintained then I will be continuing to visit this establishment. Overall a very satisfying visit and tasty and enjoyable food. Well done!

While working in peterhead for last 2weeks have been staying at harbour spring.All the girls are very friendly and helpful especially Tara bar manager and other staff members. The 3 ladies who deal with the house keeping have been more than helpful on many occasions. Am working night shift and they really go out there way to make you feel really welcome and make your stay a happy as possible

Came for an overnight stay at the Marsdens Inn, had an evening meal here and Kim couldn't be more helpful, organised a table, sorted out checking in and allowed room to be kept on! Thank you!

Great food and great service. Large menu with lots of options. Puddings are massive and take home option available.

This is a great place to pop in and have a decent lunch, the food is always hot and good quality. You have to order and pay at the bar and then the food is waited to your table by staff. A little odd but it works.

Order was taken at bar, meals were served at different times and don't bother replying if they ask if you want ice in your drink as they give you it anyway. This was my second visit in which i have been asked. Do you want ice in your drink and no thank you has meant that I have had ice in my glass both times.

Visited for lunch and at two for a tenner the value is wonderful. Wife had the carvery which was still very good at 3.30 in the afternoon. I had the most lovely succulent gammon steak. Excellent service, free parking and comfy setting. Would highly recommend!

Stopped there for lunch yesterday & was surprised that they were offering two carvery meals for 10 quid!Way too much meat for me to handle, but the dog was most appreciative of my left over meat.Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Just opened about 3 months ago. Have now used it on 3 lunch times. The service is very good. There is a good selection on the menue. There is plenty room at the tables. The tables are well spread giving you room for having a conversation without other people hearing your conversation. Would definately recommend this eating places. Car parking is also good as it situated a distance from any housing schemeservices. Also handy for going to B&Q which is very closeriously by.

Had a family dinner for five before going to a show in Aberdeen, very enjoyable meal, hot, well served and reasonable price. Was busy but no trouble getting a table. Plenty of psrking

My friend and I travelled from Fraserburgh to have a meal here as we were fed up of our usual places and wanted to try this new place out. We arrived at 6pm, found a table but it had a few dishes on it from the last customers. We asked a young gentleman to clean the table, he took away the bottles and that was that. He didn't return to give the table a wipe down. We ordered our meal & deserts at the bar and a gentleman called Kieran, who was very upbeat and lovely, took our order. About 45 minutes later we got our food, I had a full rack of ribs and my friend had a plain burger. Her burger was very burnt but edible, she didn't complain as the place was quite busy and didn't want to be a nuisance. Once we had finished our meals, our plates had been taken away and they mentioned our pudding wouldn't be long. Kieran walked by our table about 20 minutes later and saw we were still waiting for our pudding. He mentioned that because we were waiting so long he would give us a refund for them. All in all we were another 45 minutes later before we got our puddings. Now by this time it was about 8:30pm, there were very little customers left so wondered why it took them 45 minutes to put ice cream and a brownie on a plate. Apart from the slow service and burnt burger, the place is very well kept, warm atmosphere and a nice place to catch up.

Nothing special. Pub grub but a lower standard. Fine for a meet up I suppose but wouldn't rave about it.

Visiting friends in Peterhead and decide to have dinner here with the family. We all decided to have the carvery.You pay at the counter get a receipt and hand it to a women who serves you at the carvery. There is a choice of ham beef or turkey as well as a range of veggies & potatoes. The meat was ok but the vegetables had been obviously sitting a while but the were edible.The dessert was really good and the kids loved theirs!I would visit again as the staff were nice and helpful!

Visited here on 12/01/19 order was taken at 18.00 2 fish & chips and veggie Burger meal. We were advised after 30 min there was no veggie burger and we replace that for veggie vrap. The fish & chips appeared at 18.55 How thay need 55 min to make fish and chips ? . The fish was dry probably fry couple of time we never tasted that food . After 1 hour we left this restaurant hungry and angry. Very nice place but organization and standards very low level.

Remains excellent value for money carvery. Embarrassingly our toddler fell and pulled the Christmas Table setting display to the floor like a failed bad magician. Could not thank all staff enough for keeping so cool calm and collected whilst they cleaned up. Customer care at it’s best.

The server was very helpful and brought several activity sheets for both of my children - much appreciated as this kept them amused. The carvery meal was good value with three different cuts of meat available. Modern and clean restaurant that was busy but well staffed so meals served quickly. Would visit again.

Visited here on 11/12/18 our order was taken at 17.34 2 fish & chips 3 carvery. We were advised there was no beef on the carvery as they could not get it to cook, not a problem as there was gammon & turkey. we would be advised before the fish and chips came through so we could collect the carvery and all have our meal together. The fish & chips appeared at 18.20 (how long does it take to cook fish & chips) we had no warning they were coming. At the carvery the gammon was fresh, the turkey was dry as were the carrots, the stuffing, the gravy at best was lukewarm and we had to wait for cranberry sauce the whole meal was little better than warm. The fish was dry and tasteless. we left without having a sweet all that was on show was a sad looking piece of raspberry ripple cheesecake. The restaurant was not overly busy but there seemed to be plenty staff coming and going, not carrying plates but just looking around, could they not have filled the cake cabinet, ensured that all the sauces were filled. The friends we took there told us it was the worst they had ever had there, and as they live i that area they go there often

Had a lovely light lunch with my sister Carvery beef bap, and fish finger sandwich followed by a tea and a coffee very enjoyable in fact my sister said best coffee she has had in long time.

A bit of a shaky start, as they didn’t have a table for myself and 8 work colleagues that we had pre booked for 7:30pm...within 15 minutes, Kim had put 3 tables together for us, in a cozy corner, and was perfect. She was efficient and friendly in taking our orders for drinks and food, which all came out together, which was lovely. I opted for the cavery, and with it being a bit late on, I had to wait 15 minutes for my Yorkshire puddings (was worth the wait...I got two massive ones and even brought to my table!) Our night out was great, and Kim and Lynn, our hostesses, couldn’t have done enough to make up for the wait in the beginning.Will be back, I’m a regular anyway with the family, but will have another night out with the girls there! Top marks!

Visited for a quick light lunch midweek. The decor is very nice and the staff excellent. Unfortunately an exception must be made for the staff member who left the toilet without washing her hands. Today, this is an absolute no no!However, on to our dining experience. The menu was varied and offered a good variety at very reasonable prices. The service was very pleasant and the meals were excellent value. I had the fish and chips but the batter was really too hard and meant if you cut into it the fish inside broke up. Despite this the portion was generous and just could have been better served. My wife’s burger was very nice and all in all it was a nice meal.This was our first visit and we were fairly satisfied but management must ensure that hygiene is paramount. We still enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back. Excellent value for money!

Nice friendly food place staff friendly food ok considering it's a carvery place which I'm not a great fan .it also has a menu. Food came hot and cooked unlike other places in been too. Staff very friendly and nice . Clean place to eat they try clean up as people leave nice to see they care . Keep up the good work team .
