very misleading i thought it would be a bag :shop full of spotty bags :(

I don't think there is actually isn't anything you can't get from here,also the restaurant upstairs is fantastic definitely recommend and definitely go again

Great place to browse and to have lunch

Have visited this place for a lot of years and always find something different here.

Shop with all kinds of stuff and a café. So nice to visit and have a look around. Somethings are overpriced . Shop is organized and clean. The thing that really is bad and rude i think is there is a russian/polish or whatever staffmember working at the till. She was actually having a whole conversation in her own language with a woman at the till. There were a lot of folks waiting at the till as it was busy just before christmas. Having a conversation in a foreign language when you are working in a shop with so many people waiting and standing there is rude ! You work in a Scottish shop so talk the language everybody understands , that should be a common rule in the shop.

The Spotty Bag Shop is becoming an over hyped tourist attraction. The service in the restaurant is slow. Many products sold here are more expensive than other retailers.

Stocked with a lot of items you don't get in other shops. There's also a restaurant inside. They also have seasonal areas such as summer Christmas and Halloween. Queues can be long during holidays. Only downfall was the breakfast I ordered for delivery, eggs weren't quite cooked enough and then sausages weren't the greatest.

Nice store with some great items and I love the fact that they have done a Halloween walk-through this year but it is not very Pram friendly and some of the aisles are quite narrow. I also feel like if you have ever been to nickel and dime it is pretty much the same thing. The cafe upstairs is just a standard garden Centre type cafe but it does very nice food and has a really good menu

Banff's famous shop of random things, the 'Spotty Bag' is not to be missed if you are visiting the town. Prices are not quite the bargain they used to be, but the SBS is certainly worth a visit.

Found by accident well set back from everything the name doesn't suggest that it's anymore than a touristy leather goods shop when in fact the top half is a fantastic restaurant/ cafe with stunning views and down stairs a large emporium selling everything from groceries to clothing and outdoor activity equipment other than the shopping bags at the till we found no bags spotty or otherwise massive shop that doesn't promote itself , if it wasn't for the public carpark outside would never have visited

They sell almost everything from work wear, casual, tools, kitchenware, home decoration, food and drink... and just is still not complete. Their prices are very reasonable and you always find something important. The staff is really kind and helpful. If you are in the area, DO NOT MISS IT!!! 🫶🫶🫶

The bar has incredible views. It gets packed on Sundays everywhere so it is advisable to book if you don't want to wait. They serve breakfast and lunch at a very good price and with good views.

The shop is abit too organised than we like. The old shop was a bit more fun. However, it does stock plenty of useful things. A good place if you need something for the house, garden or outdoor work clothes. The café we really enjoyed. The lass serving us was quick and on the point. Always smiling and talking with us. We got some nice positive vibes from her. I had a steak pie, it was pretty tasty. Very hot and good flavour. The price for our food (four meals, four drinks) came to a fair price. The pieces we bought to take home to have with a cup of tea were also lovely. Would definitely go back.

What a find! I'm told it has been there for as long as the hills, but on my first visit I was blown away. Lovely Cullen skink, coffee and cakes with sea views upstairs and a veritable Aladins cave down below. I'm not sure I spotted a category that was missing in the shopping area and loved the outdoor clothing section. I have returned many many times since :-)

Really nice food in upstairs Cafe Lift a bit iffy to use plus its on wrong side of Cafe as you have to walk through the Cafe to get to till/wait to be seated sign I walk with aid of 2 sticks but as there was no table for the 3 of us then had to walk back to entrance and wait outside the toilets and next to lift until table became free had to stand whole time then had to walk all the way back again when table became free need to have rethink on this could be better laid out in my opinion also steps at entrance quite big for someone using sticks

Ace shop love the variety and prices

Honestly, if you're looking for kids toys to take to the beach it's fine. I would apply caution to buying anything over that. Prices are probably not as cheap as you think if you factor in the durability of what you're buying - buying something half the cost that lasts half as long. I completely understand that this trend in low cost shopping is not just limited to the spotty bag shop. As you can tell, this place just isn't for me. Others swear by it and that's fine. My overall score is low but I gave it a couple of additional stars because it's a great news story for Banff commerce, and I applaud the success of a local business.

Cafe is superb. Bacon and sausage buns and cups of coffee just the best. Shop is ok. A bit of everything.

You can buy almost everything here and at very affordable prices. There is a huge range of products to choose from, depending on the color. I recommend shopping in this store

It's been a few years since I visited. Essentially, it's the same kind of shopping experience as before, but it seems less Scottish and more slick, which spoils it slightly. However, we had a super lunch, so I'm very happy to recommend their excellent cafe.

Love the Spotty Bag Shop... it's great for a rake roon! We enjoyed oor fly cup too. Only lost a star because the toilet facilities are very basic - sliding door on to the landing. Other than that, top notch.

Amazing selection, one of those shops that appears to sell almost everything.

Today we visited the spotty bag shop for the restaurant upstairs. We had the steak pie, but chicken goujons and a chicken nuggets for our child. The food was good, cooked well, and came quickly even though they were quite busy. The entire experience was quick and the staff were brilliant. We waited less than 2 minutes to be seated and we were able to order very quickly. The food came in a reasonable time and then we were able to pay on the way out. Portion sizes were good although it is a little pricy. For 2 adult meals and a child meal with a drink each we were around £45.

Make sure you remember where the entry/exit is... You could get lost! Amazing range. Some great bargains.

As a local I like to support all the restaurants but this is far from 'cosy' and geared up for the tourists! Avoid! Wait times are long and staff young and inexperienced when the coach tours turn up no chance of a quick scone and cuppa and keep you waiting at the door! Or give you a choice of shopping around the shop whilst you wait! Visit the many smaller local cafes in the town, more friendly service!

Gewoon even een koffie- en sanitair stop onderweg. Het was even kijken, maar boven de winkel zat het restaurant. Daar kregen we een tafel toegewezen en konden we wat bestellen. Koffie en cake waren prima. Netjes geholpen.

Had a browse downstairs as usual, always a great selection & spend a small fortune because I don’t know when to stop shopping. We often head upstairs afterwards for some light lunch. The past couple of occasions we have been very disappointed with the wait, not even for food but for drinks too! Today we waited over 20 minutes for drinks and 40 minutes for food (just wraps and salad may I add!!) burgers, quiche and soups were coming out before our order even though they ordered after us. I also kindly asked if they could make my 6.5 month old baby some toast with butter as we aren’t onto the “kids” menu quite yet. I was refused a slice of toast as it was past “breakfast” hours. It’s safe to say with a young family, we won’t be able to eat here any more, we cannot wait these lengthy waits nor can we plan a quick lunch if the kitchen aren’t willing to chuck on a slice of toast. Very disappointing.

Not much you can't buy here, great shop, always something new, and when you have bought all your bits and bobs you can get Chivas 12 year old at the tills for less than your average supermarket charges! The best for less, you can nearly always park at the door too, my kind of shop!! 😁

Not a bad place to shop, good selection of work clothes and other clothes along with a good variety of house goods and furnishings, DIY accessoriesas well.. At this time of year plenty garden stuff to buy tools, plant feed, ornaments etc. Been several times and would go back again

Aladins cave of 'stuff'. Everyone seems to find their way out, LOL. Topping it all is a cafe. Lovely staff keeping it all running. Friendly smiling faces, taking orders, and serving several with lovely local accents. It appears to be always busy. Says it all. The food is great.

Lovely wee place! Lots of items in the shop, So many things to choose from, it truly is a bit of everything! However why the 3 stars you may ask. There's a restaurant upstairs, a lovely wee place with views! The staff were amazing, Service was lovely. My partner had Battered Haddock and chips, which was spot on. For myself I ordered one of their own double patty burgers, Unfortunately the "Brioche" bun was pretty stale and got hard real fast, when the burger cooled down. The meat was too dry, there wasn't any sauce in the burger either or salad, which kind of made the whole thing unpleasant to eat. Anyways, Still I absolutely suggest visiting this place and giving it all a go!

Excellent shop with a huge variety of products, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and it has an excellent cafe/dining area upstairs which has great food. The shop is massive, looking from outside it doesn't look that big however I was shocked at how big it is inside. Highly recommend a visit if your passing.

Terrific shop we have been going there for 30 years. Great place for granny and grandad to take grandkids. Cafe is good and reasonable.

As a family we were looking forward to visiting the spotty bag as we had previously had good experiences here, but on this occasion , with a baby , I was absolutely shocked when the waitress served hot drinks directly over the head of the baby . That is so dangerous and can result in life changing injuries, and on this occasion caused anxiety and distress.Please train your staff about safe practice around hot drinks and young children.

Visited this shop with a friend on Monday 18th March 2024. A great shop which has a superb selection of household goods for sale. This shop seems to sell just about everything ! Staff were efficient and very warm and friendly. A really nice experience. 5*****

Busy cafe. A lot of people in Elgin go on about this place so we were keen to go. A lot of teens seem to work there which is great experience for them. But please teach them to make coffee. It was by far the worst coffee I ever had in my life, no word of a lie. My husband ordered an espresso which was far too large even for a double. More of a watery Americano. I had a cappuccino which again was so watered down I couldn't drink it (dramatic I know). My husband took one for the team and drank it. Cheesecake was lovely and staff were friendly so thankyou for that. Food everyone was getting looked good.

i am very disappointed with the service in the cafe as two people were seated right before us with no issue and when it was our turn to get seated we got told the kitchen was closing in 2 minutes and the lady was very rude and didn’t even ask if we was in for teas or coffees etc and just assumed we wanted food no apology either just very blunt so we decided to leave

What a mistake having lunch here, the place was full of screaming kids running around, the service was appalling the noise made talking impossible and finally the food is over priced and served by surly staff who don't even engage with you

Had a first class festive lunch last week at the Bridge View restaurant l had roast turkey and all the trimmings it was tasty, served on a hot plate and l even had 4 types of vegetables including mashed turnip which you never get in many restaurants and fresh sprouts. The turkey was tender and moist with plenty of gravy. I then had oreo cheesecake which was absolutely delicious this is the best Christmas lunch l have had this year. The quality of the food and the good service by friendly staff is as good as what l have eaten in 5 star hotels 😊 l will certainly be back next year.

Pretty much got everything you need and the staff are very helpful. Upstairs is an excellent coffee shop too that serves delicious meals, snacks and cakes. Great for holiday makers and residents alike.
