Was housesitting for a friend and decided to cheat on dinner on my last night. The Blackadder was just a short walk. I found the server very friendly and charming. Had the Brie for starter and then the Balmoral chicken which was lovely. You know you've had a good meal when you feel a little depressed when you reach the bottom of the plate!

It was with great joy we came across this chocolatier. It's almost impossible to buy good chocolates now, so I jumped at the chance. Although the shop wasn't due to open until 10, they were getting chairs and tables out so I asked if they could serve me with some chocolates, which they did. There was an amazing selection - hard to chose. The owner who served me was lovely. The chocolates are made on site and I have to say they were EXCELLENT! I highly recommend - not only for the chocs but for the lovely owners! Wish I lived nearer.

We visited St Abbs today and we pop in to this cute cafe to have small bites. I ordered small breakfast, Tuna mayo toastie for my daughter and Breakfast rolls for my husband. The food are delicious, coffee is lush, the service is amazing! Next time I'll try the cakes as we only had short time to explore this beautiful village xx the girl who works there is so friendly too, we feel so welcome as tourists ❤️ highly recommend this cafe when you visit St Abbs 👍🏻

We’ve been eating here since it first opened, and the food is delicious. Although delicious the portions are almost half of what they used to be. Prices have gone up which is understandable, but for what we pay we’d expect the same amount of food as you used to serve when first opened. Food is still delicious as ever.

I just hope it was a bad day. About two in the afternoon and the café fairly busy. Most tables covered last person's food although self-service trays hinted that people could clear away their own staff. Seem to be plenty of staff but going around in a daze. Not a long queue but it still took 20 minutes to order a sandwich and bit of quiche and another 10 minutes for it to come. Quiche okay but sandwich, ham and cheese, very poor quality. Very disappointing. Someone needs to get a grip. Such a pity when the botanic gardens are so magnificent and beautifully.

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch. The train ticket we had purchased had taken us to Tweedbank, but we quickly reboarded after realizing there were many more options to be had in Galashiels. Dave's was one of the places that popped up after a Google query. Despite having just made it past the lunch rush, the person at the counter was very cordial. We told he that we were celebrating our first anniversary/latermoon and gave us a baked treat and a recommendation for a nearby park whereby to enjoy it. I'd highly recommend Dave's if you are looking for a tasty yet affordable lunch spot.

Stopped on our way to Edinburgh and what a great find. Just a few tables and lovely home cooked Sunday lunch. It was lamb with roast potatoes and nicely cooked veg. We had rhubarb crumble and custard to follow which was also top notch. Service was spot on and extremely friendly and I think it was his wife in the kitchen. This sort of place is dying out and it's such a shame - good honest home-cooked food at a reasonable price. Give Hawick a miss (not difficult) and give this place a try.
