Wow, what can I say, what an amazing afternoon celebrating my daughters hen do, it was perfect. Tara was so organised and kept me informed and updated beforehand, one of our party members was gluten free and has lots of food allergies, this was all taken into consideration and was not a bother at all, she was catered for ( and thoroughly enjoyed her meal) as did the rest of the party, our afternoon tea was amazing, plenty, beautiful food, quiche was to die for. Everything was just perfect, venue is so fresh, bright and clean, fab food, service, very friendly & helpful staff, Julie ( Tara's sister) made us very welcome and made sure we were all well catered for, doing a great job with her team. Sian made sure we were kept hydrated from the bar, she was friendly, fun and a good photographer too, all in all our afternoon was perfect, thank you ladies we will definitely be booking in again soon and highly recommend you to all Thank you for making a special day perfect.

We are lucky enough to live in Gordon so visits to the lovely Gordon Arms is a regular for our family. Afternoon tea is delicious, portions are perfect and have enjoyed treating friends and family to this for all of our special occasions - the gluten free option is also great, it doesn’t feel like you have compromised on this at all 👌 lunch menu, they have recently added a few more options on - my 2&4 years old both loved the macaroni cheese which we tried for the first time just last weekend and I’m looking forward to sampling the rest over the next few weeks. The home baking is delicious, we quite often take something away after our meal because I cant walk past their cheese scones! Love this place! Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Coeliac heaven! So much choice for those that are gluten free with nothing being forgotten. I’ve had countless lovely lunches and afternoon teas here. A really good range of choice, even being offered white or brown gluten free bread which is normally unheard of. A generous portion and so tasty! Lots of choice of cakes and traybakes also. They cater fantastically and my (also coeliac) four year old with children’s portions. I will be back again and again!

Afternoon tea as a treat for my mum who was visiting, all of the food was absolutely delicious. However, was slightly taken aback at being charged an extra £9.00 as the four of us all had another cup of tea which we presumed would have been included. Only one cup included in the price wasn’t really very much.

Warm, welcoming, extremely talented and ambitious, Oksana, Brin (& their powerful wee team) will make you feel like a member of the family, though the experience is more like a luxury boutique hotel. Food: Creative menu built on the bedrock of locally sourced (Borders) ingredients cooked with a delicate touch. e.g. scallops with curried lentils, both of which melted like butter with the perfect amount of warmth. When word gets out about the Gordon Arms, I hope we can still find a space!

Heard of the Gordon Arms Gordon, Scottish Borders (not to be confused with another establishment with the same name in the Borders) when it won a small business award from our local MP, so thought let’s give it a try. Well the afternoon tea shared with friends was fabulous. Superb sandwiches freshly made, quiche salad and delicious coleslaw and an ample range of lovely cakes with the obligatory scones with jam and cream. Mmmmmmmm. Thank you to the friendly staff. Under new management a family run pub. We had a very warm and friendly experience. The new owners did above and beyond to help us. Let me set up our day of events. A family of 5. Two adults, one teen, one child and a dog. On holiday and out for a Scotland hike. We got drenched in the typical summer weather. Found this lovely looking village pub for a bite to eat and dry off. We were warmly invited in and instantly felt part of the community. After asking about something to eat. We suddenly realised, we had come on the day that the kitchen was closed. Although only drinks were being served, they saw that we were in a pickle, wet - hungry, and still more walking to be completed. They kindly switched on the fryer and produced chips a selection of sandwiches, Which they didn’t have to do. It was our error of not checking before we started out. We were very very surprised of the care, presentation, quality of the dishes magically created. With Full bellies and many thanks. The Gordon Arms will be visited many times, we are here on holiday. Kev, Alli, Sophie and Tess, not forgetting our dog called Flash.

My husband and I have been to hundreds of pubs all over the world. We love dining and drinking in them (particularly historic pubs) and make it a point to seek out and visit as many as possible, whenever we travel. With this in mind, we are both in agreement that The Gordon Arms is The BEST pub we have EVER eaten in! The food was excellent. We both had the fish and chips. The fish was so fresh and flavorful and tender. The batter was crunchy, perfectly fried, yet not the least bit greasy. The portion was huge, and had it not been so good, I probably would have only eaten half (but I just couldn’t stop myself!) The beer was a local ale called Game Bird. It was suggested by our friendly, entertaining, and marvelous host at the bar. He was spot on with every suggestion and made our visit so much fun, we will definitely be going back again. The people you meet behind the counter at a pub can make all the difference, and in this case, this gentleman was fantastic! The building is beautiful and carries some history with it as well. It is said that literary greats Sir Walter Scott, and possibly even Rabbie Burns drank at this pub. More recently, the building suffered a horrible fire, but the renovation has brought it back to its’ original glory. The dining rooms are clean and fresh and warm and cozy and the bar is dog friendly (there’s even a water bowl for Fido!) I can’t speak for the Gents’, but the Ladies’ is beautifully done, modern, and clean. This is a place worth going out of your way to get to! And if you happen to be passing by, you will be really missing out if you don’t stop in for a bite and a pint! The Gordon Arms really is the best pub anywhere!

We popped in here fairly late on Saturday night as 8 weary and hungry travellers, 4 adults and 4 children. There is a small bar, which probably very rightly at that time on a Saturday night didn't encourage children and in any event we were informed by the lady behind the bar that the restaurant (separate room out the back) was now closed and they weren't serving food. Realising we were struggling for options the barmaid very kindly dashed out the back to see what could be done and quickly returned (I think having dragged the poor chef back from his journey home). We were quickly served up some very good wholesome food. Great friendly service who went the extra mile to feed and water us all and send us on our way.

Go here now before everyone else figures out what amazing value this place is! The drive through the Scottish countryside is stunning (a half-hour drive from the railway stop at Galashiels). The owners have created something special that I simultaneously want to keep to myself and share with the world. Oxana's hosting (and baking and wine-pairing) skills mean you are welcomed with friendly service, clear explanations of the wine pairings and amazing, sweet treats. We have been twice - once in September and once in November - and from beginning to end, our glasses were never empty, and we were treated to amazing service. Now, the food is really something to talk about. Bryn is doing something special here. The food is fresh and innovative while remaining down to earth and approachable. A simple parsnip soup sent our table to heaven with its perfect spice. We had pork belly with the crunchiest crackling and lentils with vegetables that were flavoured so beautifully I couldn't tell what was in them. Blue cheese with truffled honey had all of us begging for more. Every bite is a delight, and some of it was items I wouldn't normally order. This food, this place, is truly something special, reflecting our Borders community and some of the best food in Scotland. Go now!

Got to say, I’ve never had a bad meal or experience in here. The ham hock and lentil soup as amazing, the steak and mushroom pie was outstanding. It was packed with lean steak in a lush, beefy broth type gravy. Great fies, a la dente peas and everything was piping hot and cooked to order. Even the plates were warm, which I always appreciate. The staff were great and the owner is a real friendly guy. If yer heading North or South on the A68, make sure this is yer pit stop, even for a coffee and cake. Made me smile today whilst I was eating, it was that good. It looks like a greasy spoon if you pass it on the road, but it’s not! It’s on a par with very good pub grub, and it’s really clean inside, as is the kitchen which I passed on the way to use the bathroom.
