On a rainy day in Peebles this was the first café we came too.So pleased we did.We both had a toasted sandwich, lots of filling. Also had a piece of coffee & walnut cake,an Ecclefechan, 1 latte,1 pot of tea.Total cost £17,very good value for money.

Terry and I decided to pot in for a cup of coffee. We were lucky inasmuch as the place was heaving. We managed to get a seat at the only table left. I've always thought that when a place is that popular it can only be good news ! We were not disappointed 🐰

Popped in for a quick lunch. Two toastie ordered. No choice of brown or white bread. One was served partially burnt! This one tasted quite nice The other, well,I,ve rarely seen such meagre filling in any toastie! Needless to say it tasted of practically nothing! Not great . The prices are reasonable but I would rather pay a bit more for something more substantial and definitely not burnt!

We visited this theatre to watch a band of multi cultural musicians, who played banjo, violin, double bass, guitar and sang. Very good show, however very poorly attended only 15 people, maybe it was a bit pricey at £17.

Simple food menu hosted by mildly confused but super friendly staff who tried to bring us the offerings for three other diners. Sensible prices and although a very limited range, it all tasted good.

This is a nice place to have coffee and cake.Staff friendly.Table layout good to allow for the current situation.Only gripe would be I,ve seen staff wiping cups etc.,after washing them, with, what looks like,a none too clean dishtowel! Not sure if they have come out of a dishwasher or not!Ever so slightly off puting especially at this moment in time.So please ditch the towel!!

Down in Peebles for the day we headed for the cafe at 12.00 .Plenty of social distancing in here with staff taking precautions . There seems to be the same number of tables as they have opened a function room and put tables in there . As usual it is not a large menu but we were quite happy with a soup and a sandwich ,baked potatoes are available as well . Very clean and tidy with staff wiping down tables as soon as people leave

Dropped in for lunch today to this well run cafe beautiful homemade soup and sandwiches ,with friendly staff and a nice wee menu . It is an interesting place well used by the community . While we were sitting a group of women were getting ready for a tap dancing class there seems to be a lot of community use going on the place and it is vibrant and interesting . Well done to staff and management more towns are needing places like this

We got a 'tip' from two of the Ladies, in the Saturday Street Market, as we went hunting sustenance before our working day began: and they, deserving of our thanks, because we got just what we needed, in a very comfortable atmosphere. not just us, as the tables were rapidly, filling up, and it just after Ten! An excellent range of cakes and scones: and bacon butties on sale. And lots of posters on the walls, showing what a vibrant place Peebles is! I shall return!

Stopped here for lunch after walking into town from the Cardrona hotel. We both had lentil soup which was nice and came served with bread or oatcakes. I found this to be excellent as I can't eat bread and ended up with 6 oatcakes. We then finished off lunch with coffee and gingerbread. The gingerbread was to die for and only £1.50 for a large slab. The staff were all friendly and smiley especially the young girl with the light brownish hair that served me.There are tables both inside and out. Visit here you won't be disappointed.

We attended a concert at the Eastgate Theatre. It was our first visit there but I will be keeping a lookout for other events there that interest us. It is a very small concert venue but means that you feel like you are almost on stage with the band. We were in the second row but there were no seats in front of ours as the space was reserved for wheelchair use. There is a bar where you can have a drink before the concert and also reserve drinks for the interval. It is a lovely little venue.

Just had a delicious lunch here with the best bowl of soup I think I've ever had. I can't recommend this place highly enough... Had been looking forward to my visit made specifically to try this place out. Noone else in except the numerous staff all talking away happily to each other. After looking at menu which looked fabulous I went up to order as none of staff looked vaguely interested in taking my order. No sit down we will come to you. I sat and waited and the place started to fill. 3 other tables came in and someone came from behind the counter to clear dirty dishes that had been on a table when I went in. Finally someone came to serve me and I commented on my wait to which I was given a story about the coffee machine not working which was why staff were chatting. Hmmmmn really. Then as of course luck would have it they were out of the very thing I was there to have. I will give them another chance another day as the menu was interesting but the service was shockingly bad especially if they then are having to tell people no coffee! Zero recognition of interaction with customers and I speak as someone with a long hospitality career. Great location great menu but lacking in customer connection.

We were staying next door at the Crown Inn to attend a wedding in the area however commencement of their lunch service was leaving us tight for time so we popped in here instead in the knowledge we’d get a decent snack. The stairs may be a challenge for the less able however it’s worth the effort as the produce served is very good. We both ordered quiche which was served with salad, coleslaw, crisps and a Balsamic dressing (£6.50). I’m not usually too keen on Balsamic however I used some from the small pot provided separately and it turned out to be fine. The quiche itself was very good. We had coffee (£3) and tea (£2.80) which were very good too but since we were a bit pushed for time we had tray bakes as takeaway - Millionaire Shortbread for my wife and a slice of Aero Mint for myself. Both priced at £3.50 they went down well with a coffee the following day when we were back home! Service on this occasion by the two young females serving was pleasant and efficient. Overall cost for lunch was a reasonable £25.80.
