Visited The Pirn House recently and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. There's a varied menu with delicious dishes, catering for all. The owners have worked hard to comply with recent conditions and the restaurant looked inviting. The staff there are very welcoming and pleasant too. I can highly recommend The Pirn House.

Whilst in Jedburgh we thought we would stop in. Unfortunately, the cafe is now close but they do still have a takeaway shop around the back (well signposted). The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They described each item well and gave us recommendations. There wasn’t an abundance of selection but that is a positive because it suggests they focus on quality over quantity. I went for the charcoal salmon and cream cheese bagel. It doesn’t sound appealing but it was nice. The bagel was chewy and the filling was decent. I also got an almond croissant which was large and had a good pastry to filling ratio. I did find that some bites of the pastry was drier than others but it was still a very good croissant. My wife got a apple crumble cruffin which was sweet and again had plenty of filling. She wasn’t blown away by it but it was quite nice. My mother in-law also got the almond croissant which she also enjoyed. Overall for all that it was £18.50 which for a bakery is very expensive in my opinion. I do like the shop as its cute and has a variety of loafs and I get the impression they change the items frequently.

We booked a birthday spa treat, having previously eaten at the hotel. Surroundings are beautiful , but using the outdoor pool felt like an endurance test and could not have been described even as warm. Similarly, the relaxation area was chilly and sitting around in cold, wet costumes, having been provided with only one towel and one (inevitably sopping and cold) robe was somewhat miserable, especially as that also had to suffice after a final shower. The very small hot tub was full throughout our stay; clearly it's not big enough. Changing facilities were cramped, and my friend changed in the shower cubicle for privacy. Lockers are very narrow and full after a winter coat has gone in. If I'd known toiletries were minimal, I'd have brought some. The day wasn't a disaster, but it was disappointing and I've had much better experiences at less costly spas, both at home and abroad.

This was our second visit to this lovely cafe. You will find fantastic food with a Scottish twist and great hospitality. The salmon flatbread was delicious. Lots of lovely cakes as well as some Scottish themed gifts for sale. It was certainly busy but that speaks for itself. No surprise it seems to be a well known spot with the locals. If you are travelling on the A68 or visiting Jedburgh it is well worthy of a lunch or coffee stop.

Had read this place did gluten free so stopped in before some sightseeing. Very disappointed. They only do gluten free meals. I asked about snacks or cakes but absolutely nothing available. This is strange because they have gluten free bread and could easily do a sandwich. So I sat sadly with a drink whilst my husband ate. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Don't normally do reviews, and only stopped for a quick coffee and bacon roll, but felt this place really deserves an excellent review. Rare to find a place that does such a decent coffee (cappuccino done properly, in a sensible sized cup not a Costa bucket), the staff were lovely - all of them - and there was a nice stove in the corner on a bitterly cold January morning. Never stopped off here before on an A68 run - will make a habit of it now.

Easter Sunday Lunch/Birthday Celebration - we’d been looking for somewhere in the area that would be able to accommodate 5 adults, 3 kids and a dog :-) We were seated in a side lounge/restaurant that was suitable of a party of our size and the dog, it was comfortable, fresh and rustic. The staff were great, we were seated and a drinks order taken, menus given etc etc. We chose just two courses from a fab menu, Roast Lamb, Roast beef, Burger, fish and Chip and puds Lemon Tart, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Creme Brûlée, ice creams were our choices. You could tell the food was freshly cooked and prepared and great care taken with the presentation. The Vegetables for the Roast dinners served seperate, which is in our eyes great so your not over faced with too much on your plate, plus I didn’t have to eat the veg I don’t care much for 🤣. There was no rush for us to leave our table which sometimes can happen in restaurants. Front of house team very friendly and even willingly sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. When we are back in the area, we will most certainly be visiting again. Thank you
