So far I've done one takeaway and one sit in here. Both times I ordered the Sevens - the most delicious pizza in the world! It's a thin crust, topped with tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella, ham, and onions. Now I'm battling with the impossible decision of wether to keep ordering this choice every time - as I can't imagine something being better - or mixing it up with some of the other very appealing offerings in the menu? It's a struggle! They also have a solid list of starters, I tried the cheese-topped garlic bread and can totally recommend it. This is an incredibly welcoming place, honouring the history of the building it is housed in, creating a brilliant and cozy atmosphere. The service is world class, despite being so busy, the members of the staff will always take the time to answer questions and tend to your needs without rushing it. If you're looking for a hidden gem in the Borders area, look no further!

Travelled up from England and Visited here on 11/11/23 after Kelso races and must say it’s some of the best food we have every had. Definitely recommend it to anyone. We had the fish cake and pan fried prawns starter and salmon, spicy chicken mains. The metre pizza looked amazing.

Absolutely first class meal tonight to celebrate my wife's birthday. First sit in meal at Hunters and it certainly won't be the last. Lovely place, great staff, friendly atmosphere. A new favourite!

Lovely people who own this establishment, but there are a few drawbacks. Firstly the noise level is overwhelming. As someone with hearing difficulties, it was exhausting trying to hear conversation. The pasta was More than al dente, it was hard. Also would have like a wine list to look at at the table.

My partner just picked up a pizza 🍕 he said it was the best pizza he's had in the borders! also staff very friendly and welcoming. Will be back 🙂

Just had a lovely meal here with friends and family, no complaints about the food or service all was great ,only thing I have to complain about is we had vouchers for the value of £30 but they said were out of date, but due to Covid-19 were unable to use them at face value but offered only half of the value.when I read through the vouchers there was no date on the vouchers to say when they were out of date. to I was disappointed that someone had paid that amount of money as a gift to us that they only gave us half the value . Ok we are going through difficult times ,it would be nice for them to up hold the value of the vouchers to us. Otherwise we had a great time.

Nice location, restaurant and service. Was quite disappointed as we had phoned ahead and asked if they could cater for vegans, was told it wouldn't be a problem but turned out there was only one pasta dish and a couple of pizzas which we could have without cheese, and no soya milk for coffee - so 'No', unless the menu changes they don't really cater for vegans.

Super meal tonight, great atmosphere. friendly, efficient and professional staff. Really enjoyed it and most certainly will return .

First time visiting here. What a lovely little restaurant. Very nicely decorated, bright and airy. Staff were extremely friendly. Table service was good. Food was lovely. Just thought it was a bit expensive for a lunch. Would be better having a lunch time menu as the menu/prices same as in evening. Will definitely go again.

First time in this lovely little village whilst touring Scotland. Had lunch here with my partner's friend and his family. Great food, lovely atmosphere and decor. Totally recommend!

WOW, what can I say but total disappointment. Service was good when we first went in and greeted, but then went downhill, rapidly. We were at table 1, the table infront of the pizza oven, very very noisy, everyone walking past, staff and customers, did not feel covid protected at all. It was so loud we couldnt hear ourselves speak, had to repeat ourselves several times. Ordered drinks and they came quickly, ordered our food, mine came first and then had to wait for the husbands. Food was good. Table was cleared and ordered another drink, never got what I ordered, disoronno and coke, (approximately £4) I asked a waiter what it was, they said that was a disoronno and then walked away, it certainly wasn't what I had asked for. When I got the bill it stated disoronno sour (cocktail at £8.50). Once the table was cleared we expected they would come back with the sweet menu....we waited over 20mins and someone came to take the sauces away to give to the table behind us. Still no offer of sweets, waited a further 5 minutes then decided enough was enough. We caught the attention of a waiter and asked for the bill, we were pointed to the bar and told "pay there." We are currently on level 1 covid restrictions, but I felt there was no social distance, most staff had their mask keeping their chins warm and some who had them on, had them off by the end of the night (mainly management.) Sauces are passed from table to table and not wiped down. I expected sooooo much better from this type of place. Will not be returning.

Had a very good meal here. Beautiful pizza 🍕 a good menu with plenty of chose. Service was excellent. I can see us becoming regulars. They deserve 5 🌟.

Was staying near this village for a few days and found this gem! Really interesting story of how it came to be there. Absolutely fantastic food and excellent service. The waiters were all lovely and so lovely to my mum. Really great atmosphere. The chefs must be top notch , coz the food was brilliant. We absolutely loved this place and cannot wait to return. Excellent meal . Fresh food at it's best

Recently moved away from this fantastic restaurant and happily made the 2 hour round trip last night for a meal. As always, service second to none, made to feel so welcome and like we really matter. Food was epic, as it has been on each and every visit, will definitely try to get back down before Christmas. These guys have worked so hard throughout the pandemic to make sure that we always had them available to provide a great standard of food and service, they always go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble, hard work always pays off. Thank you.

Family treat that was totally ruined by the very poor quality of the food .started with very small luke warm cappuccinos followed by over cooked battered fish with vile wedge type chips and a risotto with far to meny fish bones .Needless to say no sweet orderd the only plus was the excellent waiter table service . this from a restaurant that has won awards for food ??? will not be returning .

First going in it felt and look like a posh restaurant but was in fact pretty good priced for the quality of food they give. Pizza's was amazing probably best pizza I've had in a long time. The mozzarella and tomato base was fresh and great quality.

Had a takeaway from here last night and it’s the worst pizza I have ever had most of it went in the bin, the tomato base was like it came out of a tin of tomato purée and spread over really thick I couldn’t taste any of the pizza, my wife had a vegetable pasta and the sauce was the same as the pizza base tomato purée that went in the bin too, I just can’t believe they can’t make a descent Italian sauce I spent over £50 there but that will be the last won’t be using them again, I’ve had a better pizza from my local chippy, think they should get a chef that can that can make a descent Italian sauce.

Just had a takeaway from hunters stables and it’s the worst pizza I have ever had the tomato base was like pure tomato purée, my wife had a vegetable pasta and she couldn’t eat it as the sauce was like the pizza base pure tomato purée, don’t know why they can’t make a good Italian sauce. Won’t be using them again.

My wife and I had a takeaway from Hunters during a recent trip to the Borders and found it adequate but very average. Whilst the Bruschetta was tasty, the pasta was a let down. It was our first night and we would have returned every night as we have done on others trips when we have found somewhere special. However in this instance we looked elsewhere.

Best meal out we have had in a long time. We could not fault the food or service. Eye rolling my delicious!! Cannot praise highly enough

Nice staff, decent food selection. Had a pasta and a pizza. Pasta quite firm, pizza slightly under cooked, but lots of topping a d very tasty.

We dined outside which was well set up. The garlic bread was a bit of a let down, the stuffed mushrooms however were fantastic. The steaks were tasty and a decent size just let down a little by being slightly on the chewy side. The Tempest IPA was spot on. The service was excellent.

Great pizza - sat outside in the sun with friends.Brilliant menu, outstanding value and service to match.You won't find anywhere better in the whole area.The whole team go out of their way to make their customers feel welcome and valued.Popped back the next day, they remembered me and gave me a cup of tea on the house!

Great atmosphere prior to the lockdown but a bit less so due to the spacing and obviously less people, shame!However although less inside there are several tables outside and also a take away service.The owners have spent a lot of time and money to maintain their customer base.Food is excellent and very plentiful.Service is fast and attentive.We have eaten here lots of times and always look forward to visiting.Well done to all for maintaining this very very popular restaurant!

Our first time eating at hunters stable and it certainly won’t be our last the service we experienced from the staff was second to none the food came in large portions and was delicious and well presented the waiting staff very informative cheery and very professional I would highly recommend dinning here for anyone looking for a truly Italian experience

This is simply the best Italian restaurant anywhere outside of Italy. Great menu and great cooking! Service is relaxed and typically Italian, don’t expect a rush and do expect the food to be cooked to order and served super fresh! Best of all just tell Sal (either of them!) ‘feed us’ and you will get a superb feast with great wines to accompany it all. Make sure you book though as it does get busy and is big big favourite with visiting fishermen and game shooters not just locals! If you want proper genuine Italian cuisine this is the place - simply the outside of Montana in Fiorano!!

Lovely takeaway, very fresh and hot. We had a lovely salad and some of their stone baked Pizza's Would order again - very tasty.

We have dined in Hunters a good few times, always a friendly family welcome and excellent food, for both meat eaters and vegetarians.Recently we decided to 'carry out' and try the meter of pizza. There were seven of us and we all loved it so much. Pizza base cooked to perfection and topped with what ever you like. All fresh produce and good quality ingredients. One of our family is Italian and he was completely surprised that we could serve up totally authentic Italian pizza here in the Borders. Pictures and stories were sent directly back to Milan. The legend lives on and thank you for a lovely experience. The pizza is truly fantastic.We have since been back with the same formula and we are about to be coming back again next week for another wee celebration.

We have used hunters stables for a takeaway a few times and also been in their restaurant previously for a sit down meal. Pizzas are lovely and authentic. Lots to choose from on the menu and waiting time is not long. Recommended.

First time here and not disappointed in any way . Warm friendly reception dinner booked for six on a Saturday evening . Restaurant very busy so booking advisable which is a reference in itself. Starters were huge and main meals also great portions. Pizza , lasagne and fish& chips were terrific . Prices were incredibly reasonable. Service was well timed allowing plenty of time to eat and chat between courses. We plan a return visit soon

We booked our family xmas day meal at 1pm and received a confirmation email with this time on it, but when we arrived promptly at 1pm they all looked confused. Apparently the boss had called me to change the time although there was NO RECORD of any call from Hunter Stables on my mobile phone! (I think she forgot but would nit admit fault) The manageress was quite rude when we told her this and just said we would have to go away for 1 hour and walked away! Not professional at all. When we eventually sat down (after an hour sitting in the car and 20 minutes standing in their doorway waiting on the table being vacated by the previous family) we were brought a complimentary wine but we had to keep shouting on a staff member to see if they could take a drinks order. One person told us 'your not my table sorry'! When someone eventually came to do this we were told we could no longer have cocktails ( other customers had them and the menu was on the table) but they said they were taking too long to make them! We could only have wine or spirits, so we placed our order and waited. AND WAITED!!! We ate our starter and our main meal THIRSTY and kept asking where our drinks were!!! and kept being told they would check for us!!! THEN...when we were onto our sweets THE DRINKS FINALLY ARRIVED. too bloody late!!! When we eventually left we noticed the next family were standing waiting for our table and had been waiting a while as an elderly family member had to be taken back to car to wait. ANYWAY..... the food was acceptable for the price as it was Christmas day but I feel the owners were too greedy they overbooked the tables. They should have taken one sitting per table, charged more and the service would have been more relaxed and acceptable. But as for the manager/owners attitude towards HER COCKUP, it was disgraceful and she never did apologise. The rest of the staff were very nice but rushed off their feet.

Was at a Christmas night out, although the food was excellent service was very slow and there were too many people making it quite crowded once the food was finished . Would not go back for a party night . But would go back for a meal .

As a native New Yorker, I consider myself a pizza expert, and this is the best pizza I’ve had in nine years in the UK. (I was slightly chastised over my pizza expertise by the Italian waiter, but that’s a whole ‘nother tale.) The crust — which makes or breaks a pizza — *chef’s kiss*

Food was amazing, however, owners wife came over, who we knew already, to check if our food was ok. little bit of general chit chat until she made a very snarky and cheeky comment towards my daughter about her past behaviour without considering she had changed and moved on from the way she was 2/3 years ago! It was her birthday as well. As I said, food was unreal, all the other waiters were magic but the comment was completely unnecessary and inconsiderate.

With a group of 4 who had been hiking all day we ordered a lot of items. Everything was excellent. I had the Abbotsford pizza which is the best pizza I ever ate. These guys from Sorrento try really hard to please everyone which I guess explains such a large number of mostly excellent reviews!
