Easter Sunday Lunch/Birthday Celebration - we’d been looking for somewhere in the area that would be able to accommodate 5 adults, 3 kids and a dog :-) We were seated in a side lounge/restaurant that was suitable of a party of our size and the dog, it was comfortable, fresh and rustic. The staff were great, we were seated and a drinks order taken, menus given etc etc. We chose just two courses from a fab menu, Roast Lamb, Roast beef, Burger, fish and Chip and puds Lemon Tart, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Creme Brûlée, ice creams were our choices. You could tell the food was freshly cooked and prepared and great care taken with the presentation. The Vegetables for the Roast dinners served seperate, which is in our eyes great so your not over faced with too much on your plate, plus I didn’t have to eat the veg I don’t care much for 🤣. There was no rush for us to leave our table which sometimes can happen in restaurants. Front of house team very friendly and even willingly sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. When we are back in the area, we will most certainly be visiting again. Thank you

This place is a must for food or drinks if just passing through or you could be like me and stay overnight. I have nothing but good things to say about this little gem and trust me I get to stay all over Scotland but this place impressed me. Amazingly priced 3 course meal, great bar area as well as comfy seating in the dining area. NEWSFLASH: Brenda's homemade Key Lime Pie was the best I have ever tasted, and trust me i have tasted lots over the years in Florida and at home but nothing comes close to hers. As I pass through the Scottish Borders a couple of times a year I will definitely be booking this place again. Well done staff, give yourselves a big pat on the back.

Who would have ever thought that a village like St. Boswell's would have such an excellent venue, which is community-focused. A café which is packed serving good food and friendly service, a browsing bookshop, arts and crafts shop and a delicatessen ... who could ask for more?

I have to say the service was great. But, with an option of only 5 main courses and 1 vegetarian option, the choice is very limited here. This is part of a hotel. Imagine staying here for a few days and being vegetarian having to eat the same thing every night. Not cheap either for what you get. The website suggests a special dining experience with fresh season food, some of which is picked from the gardens but I very much doubt this to be true! Very disappointing

Having read some earlier reviews I was a little apprehensive but can assure prospective customers that the poor reviews are really not justified .Yes the menu choice was small but the three of us had different main courses and we agreed all were delicious. Luckily my wife's haddock and chips was too large a portion so I had to help her finish it. What a hardship! Nice crisp batter and triple cooked chips. Service was adequate, if a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. Nice ambience and reasonably priced.
