What a fabulous meal we had in this cosy little bistro. Everything we ordered was so tasty. Starters caesar salad and the sea trout. Mains chicken risotto and cod Kiev. Puds chocolate pot and raspberries with meringue. Plus a cheeky caramel baileys martini that was delicious!! Very friendly staff too!!

Excellent front of house service and attention. Food of an excellent quality and reasonably priced. Menu selection is not massive but I would think that is because they serve food that is fresh and seasonal.

We walked out... Yes you book a table and expect the restaurant to be warm. But sadly it wasn't, it was freezing cold and no i dont want to eat with your coat on. Maybe I'm not used to perocial mediocrity, but the menu was uninspiring the place cold and might i add drap too, no ambiance at all. So when my partner asked to leave before any servings i was only to glad.. So would i rate this place NEVER. Best avoided.

A lovely bistro with a lovely warm welcome by efficient and professional waiting staff/hosts. Our food was cooked to perfection (soufflé, fish cake, risotto and steak) and exceptional value for money. I can highly recommend the house red too! Booked a table for dinner here as we were staying in the area for a week. Couldn’t have chosen better. We were shown to our table straightaway and a bottle of water placed immediately. Our drinks order was taken quickly and so was our food order. We had a wee bit of a wait for our main course but that’s because it’s all freshly prepared. I had the slow cooked beef - delicious and beautifully presented. My husband had the pork and it was every bit as good. I then had the brandy snap basket with strawberries and home made ice cream - gorgeous. My husband (a sticky toffee pudding lover) had the warm apple spring roll with heavenly sauce. All in all, with drinks and a tip, we were £30 a head extremely good value. It’s definitely the best meal out we’ve had in a long time. Congratulations to the chef.

We booked a table (recommended), glad we did as there are not many places to eat in Jedburgh in the evening, in fact there were people turned away just before we entered. The restaurant is situated opposite the Abbey. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My wife had the lamb and I the haddock, both were cooked to perfection, absolutely fabulous.

I booked a table in Stewart's Bistro based on reviews and photos and I'm so pleased I did 😊. Never having stayed in Jedburgh before I didn't have a clue where was good or not but Stewart's was 100% spot on. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome by the lovely lady who showed us to our table. She brought the menus and a bottle of water, very welcomed, then gave us time to choose. I had the asparagus soup hubby had Haddock rarebit both delicious, we then ordered a steak each I like mine medium with no blood it was cooked to perfection for me hubby likes his blue 😳, now he's very fussy when it comes to his steaks and I've never seen him so pleased with his steak as he was when he received this, one happy birthday boy. We finished off with brandy snap baskets and poached pear. For all of that and a couple of drinks we left very happy with the cost and especially the quality of the food and the standard of service. Thank you all we will definately be back ❤️ xxx

There were not many covers when we had dinner here. The owners were friendly and the food well cooked. We enjoyed the bisque, Asian beef salad and venison and some Rioja. Our evening was not enjoyable however as there was a family nearby with very small children being entertained on and off by screens. Although this is the family's choice, and not the restaurant's fault, it did however spoil our evening and deter us from staying on for dessert and coffee.

We happened on this little place on a dull November day. It was a real find. Excellent coffee and really good simple dishes with an extra bit of class. The home-made quiche was terrific, the salads came with a great home-made dressing, yummy chips and, as for the ham, really good - and all terrific value. Locals told me they do bistro meals in the evenings at weekends and they are ‘bring your own’ for wine, with NO CORKAGE CHARGE! Worth a try and a welcome change from chain restaurants (and Jedburgh is an interesting place that still has independent shops).

Van buiten ziet Stewarts Café er niet erg uitnodigend uit, maar je krijgt er bijzonder lekker en verfijnd eten voorgeschoteld. We were at the end of day 1 of the St Cuthberts' Way and deserved a treat. My fellow walker had smoked haddock fiscakes followed by guinea fowl, I had leek and potato soup followed by "taste of pork," a medley of belly, loin, cheek, griddled asparagus, mashed potato topped with apple. It was beautifully presented, the service was fantastic and I went to bed early that night a happy walker. We ate great food on this walk but Stewarts set a really high bar. We found the ambience slightly off possibly due to the fact that this is a cafe during the day. They had spotlights shining in your face and unfortunately didn't create a nice ambiance for a romantic meal. Both our main courses were very tasty but on the small side. We opted for two courses but regretted it as we were still hungry after the meal. Pastry on Lemon meringue tart wasn't great and again portion size could have been better here although my partner had the chocolate trifle which looked sizeable and was tasty. Staff were friendly but the swing doors to kitchen got on our nerves after a little while.

Ok most peopthe chef here le park up and hit the "main" street and go to the places near the top, just to say its well worth the walk doon the street a few minutes to seek this place out, I had a coronation chicken sandwich and it was definitely the best I have had, now most places buy in a tub of ready mixed stuff ,the chicken being imported from abroad and not perhaps having same farm standards, and you get a few morsels of tasteless stuff, here the chef actually does a great take on a classic sandwich by giving you a proper chicken breast and spreading the sauce onto the bread, served with a good salad and high quality crisps, wor lass had the home made soup which was delicious and the coffee was brilliant , we are very fussy when it comes to coffee.

This came as a bit of a surprise, a newly opened cafe doubling as a bistro just for a couple (now 3) of nights a week. It was recommended by our B&B; hosts when everywhere else seemed to be booked up for the Callants festival. The set price menu has limited choices - worth checking the current offerings out before you book. It seems they concentrate on doing just a few things but doing them really well. And I do mean "really well" ! Food was freshly cooked and truly excellent, presentation was elegant. Staff friendly and cheerful. The decor felt more like a lunch time cafe than an evening bistro. It may have changed since we were there in the early days, but the absence of any kind of soft furnishings made for a very boomy acoustic. I would not have wanted to share this dining space with a large noisy group! However the evening we went it was not particularly busy to the atmosphere was OK. So, good luck Stewarts and keep up the good work! We hope to be back.

We are in the process of trying all the restaurants near to us, and saw the good reviews on trip advisor. Always a bit wary when the restaurant has all good or very good reviews, as quite often it turns out to be a disappointment-however, on this occasion we were not disappointed, the food is beautifully cooked and presented, and the portion size is perfect.

We had a lovely evening at Stewart's Cafe. Pleasant decor, friendly and efficient service and really good food. We went in the evening when there is a very reasonable set price menu. The menu changes regularly and the week we were there all the choices were tempting and all we all enjoyed our meals, they were beautifully cooked and presented, and tasted great. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for some lunch today. Friendly service with a good and varied choice of menu. Offers half portions of meals if more suitable. Brilliant value. Hot and cold options available. Felt like the teapot was bottomless, think it was 3 cupfuls in total!

I travel this way, A68, between Newcastle and Edinburgh. Always stop in here, clean and warm. Nice menu, well made. Lots of parking

A weekend away in the Scottish Borders led to us unexpectedly finding this wonderful restaurant in the Yarrow Valley today. It was one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had in years (delicious local beef and pork) and a seriously tempting menu focussed around local ingredients by Bryn Jones. The honey cake for dessert by @she.likesbaking was also incredible and I’ve only just realised that Oxana Jones is not only a wonderful front-of-house host, but also an extremely talented baker. Thank you to your team, it was a memorable lunch and we’ll definitely be back for one of your tasting menus and an overnight stay.

Great little cafe. Excellent bacon, sausage, and egg role for the price. Coffee was ok. Opens early.
