We stayed here for three nights we had breakfast and evening meal, cannot not fault the menu plenty to choose from, staff very friendly and helpful, David was a brilliant host. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
As always amazing ! AMAZING
Staff kind and courteous. Food truly divine , setting magnificent. It doesn’t get better . I would not eat anywhere else in Portpatrick .
In fact I love eating here and a restaurant in Kircudbright . The others nearby are poor and tent to take advantage of through traffic so they don’t really want regulars .
Excellent Tai curry with my first tofu made with care , my wife had home made tomato soup with a freshly ( egg was still warm ) made egg sandwich. We will be back
Stayed at Dalbeattie for a couple of days and decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese Takeaway from Sea Horse. The service was very prompt and the food was absolutely excellent and portions huge. (And so well priced as well!) I genuinely do not understand some of the poor reviews. This was the BEST chinese takeaway food we have had in a long time. 😋😋😋😋😋😋
Came here for my 25th and we had a great time, staff are lovely and gave us plenty of advice on fun things to do like seeing the deer. We had a great time and they also do a fabulous pizza, the bar is gorgeous too.
Stayed at Mabie House recently and enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. Excellent food, well cooked, well presented and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again
Very enjoyable meal. Had chicken strips and veg with side order of chips. Very tastey. Waitress very helpful and friendly. Restaurant very clean and tidy.

Aye, could do with some money spending on it, really sad little place, such a shame as it has decent punters who would readily drink the place dry.
There have been some attempts at upgrading but there is a long way to go!!
We came on a Sunday night about a month ago, I had heard good reviews about the place, but I have to say our meal was terrible. The Balmoral chicken was a plate with some mashed potato a thin layer of haggis and the driest piece of chicken I've ever saw and a few minutes later the sauce came. The curry was tasteless the sweet and sour sauce was like a chutney than a sauce all in all it felt like we got the left overs would not rush back
Absolutely gutted to find this place had ceased trading, since our last visit in August 22.
This hidden gem was part of our journey down south for the past 7 years, after stumbling on it by accident. It offered a hearty meal for a fraction of the price they charge, at a service station
Came out here with family members to enjoy a walk round the gardens and finished up with a bite to eat in the cafe. Menu, even though limited at this time, has something for everybody. Toasties, baked potatoes, bagels ~ all of which come with plenty of filling, waffles, pancakes and plenty more sweet treats. What's not to love. Don't let previous reviews mislead you.
This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish.
It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it.
The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
Well after almost 12 months of planning the Veteran Vespa Club late summer rally was upon us. We had booked the whole place and had 39 members attending from all over the UK and Ireland.
We were given a warm welcome by Alistair and Tatiana and very well looked after for the entire visit. Everything was perfect, including the weather which was warm and sunny for the full rally.
A great place to hold such an event.
We can't wait to return.
Thanks.
What a lovely little find on a Sunday afternoon on Main Street
We were visiting the area and looking for somewhere to eat
So welcoming and friendly and beautiful home cooked food and very generous portions - could not fault and would highly recommend
Do not walk pass you will be disappointed!
