Everything they serve here is really nice, its chips burgers hotdogs, bacon butties, wraps etc, just what you want great price and very very friendly service, great views, very family friendly, waffles, ice creams of ALL kinds so much choice, all in a little shop that sells rocks drinks sweets, and everything you could need to take to the beach with the kids not crazy expensive either ,reminds me of days gone by, with the paddling pool and children's attractions to the rear and the views at the front, its lovely ,try them you won't be disappointed.

amazing food, great friendly customer service: Best chicken in Reading! And the milkshakes are amazing. I won't buy fast food from anywhere else now!

We were at the Moffat campsite and came here every day. Best place in Moffat. The food is amazing! Staff are so welcoming and friendly. And all so dog friendly, we had dinner a la carte menu with our dog at our feet in a beautiful garden room. The whole hotel has a warm, relaxing feel and is beautifully decorated. And it has the cheapest drink in town. Can't recommend enough.

We stopped for lunch on a nice summer's Sunday on our way home with the caravan. There was a large parking area round the back that managed our car and small caravan with ease. The bar/restaurant is very cozy and traditional but we chose to sit outside on one of the many bench tables with parasols. Our dog was also made very welcome and a bowl of water was brought out for her. We both chose the Roast beef dinner and it was very succulent and the vegetables were not overcooked as is usually the case in many places. Our server and the barman were great and seemed very happy at their work. We will go back when next in the area.

Popped in for a Saturday lunch. The place was packed. The staff were ran of their feet but the server let us know she would be with us soon and couldn’t have been more apologetic. We did want to have some cakes but nobody came back to clear the table despite it quieting down. Food was tasty.

Tonight, having eaten here a few times and always been very happy with the food, I got a takeaway. I can’t remember the last time I got a takeaway but when I found out umi were doing them I didn’t want to miss out. I was so happy with what I got - the food was as good as if I ate in the restaurant. I will definitely do this again! A healthy takeaway - finally! Thanks umi!

Booked this hotel despite reading bad reviews, which by the way I don’t understand. What a beautiful hotel! We were greeted by Heidi one of the owners, a warm friendly welcome who had very kindly upgraded our room as we were staying for 5nights. The room was nearly as big as our home, beautifully furnished and decorated with all modern facilities in the bathroom. Very well appointed room at the front of the building. The hotel itself was decorated in the style of the age of the what once a doctors home, beautiful, with lovely look of an old hunting lodge. Befitting the area in which it stands in a countryside area. See photos. It has a reception, bar/lounge, breakfast come function room, dining room and toilets on the ground floor very spacious, all are cleaned to a very high standard as was our room.. Pretty little gardens with seating outside and car parking facilities including electric points. Very well thought out. The food was lovely and plentiful. The breakfast included was cereal, fruits and seeds/nuts. The Scottish breakfast which comprised of egg, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, slices of soda bread and tatie scone. You also had toast with marmalade or jam, tea and coffee. Didn’t have to eat again until dinner in the evening it was so filling, and I’m a big eater generally. The meals in the evening were delicious and plentiful also, we ate there for 4 of the 5 evenings and were happy to do so. The steak, see photo was huge we couldn’t eat the chips it was so big. On the first night we had family over for my hubby’s birthday, we bounced this on the hotel last minute and they were very accommodating. We had no problems with the food all week, we were leaving early in the morning of our last day to come back to Cornwall, we weren’t having breakfast so asked if they could do us a packed lunch instead which they very kindly did. Above and beyond I would say. The owners, and it is a family business were great. I feel as we started as clients but ended as friends. We had a laugh with them, great discussions and hugs at the end. I find if you treat people well, you get the same back. All in all it’s a 10/10 from us and we have no hesitation in saying we will be back in the future. Thanks Heidi, Alec, Kim, Shona and the team. X
