What a great meal - Thank you Liz!! It was just so Yummy. The service from Peter was just fantastic. The 4 of us just had a fantastic night. Such a great atmosphere. Good old fashion country hospitality. Thank you all again for a great night.
Had a lovely family meal, would highly recommend, Lovely fresh salad and very friendly service, Will be our first choice next time when going out as a family
A stylish restaurant with excellent service, elegant beautifully presented food and delicious wines.
Only complaint iscthat there is only one vegetarian choice so we wouldn't want to go regularly and have the same dish each time. But for special occasions it's a lovely treat.
Their home made pastries are so light and buttery I instantly forgot my morning confusion. The coffee, is delicious, I drink black.
This was random as I was sorting my camp chassis.
I give this, for pastry alone, 12/10
Deep in the heart of Paris a grumpy boulanger missed a trick... kindness.
Thank you.
Nice little bar/restaurant with decent pub grub and large portions and also very reasonable prices. Also friendly and efficient staff. Will certainly return

We’ve been traveling all over Scotland, started in Glasgow and went to Oban and then Portree. I wasn’t expecting Inverness to be one of my favorites, but it is the cutest urban city that’s also quiet despite having a lot going on. This hotel was one of my favorites as well, so put together, making you feel very special. It feels like home while also being a very nice hotel with great rooms. Located just a few minutes off the main river walk made it easy to walk around. I’d definitely come back here.
A magically quirky dining experience that redefines what a 5 star meal can look like 🤩. If you’re happy to do things a little differently and go with the flow, you’ll love the oystercatcher!
The service was super friendly and the food exceptional. The garlic butter lobster and duck fat chips are not to be missed - probably the nicest lobster we’ve ever had - and bought direct from the local lobster boats!
Space here is limited with one group seated per hour, which means that the service is really personal.
There were so many amazing little tasters and extras served throughout the meal which meant that we left feeling absolutely stuffed (in a good way!) . The heather (grown in the back garden) and honey tea and homemade shortbread was a lovely way to end the meal. Something that we wouldn’t have ordered if choosing it ourselves from the menu but we really enjoyed it!
The place is packed with quirky curios - from the oyster shell garlands around the walls to the port pourer. And the wine menu alone is something to behold! 100s of wines to suit any price range. We had an amazing Gewürtztraminer.
The owners are in their retirement and looking to sell so we’d definitely recommend a visit before you no longer can 😢
My first visit was so good, I have already been back a 2nd time. Great to see an imaginative and varied menu and not the usual identikit Skye tourist offering. Everything I ate was excellent, and I felt it was made with love and care, with good food being the priority and not profit. Their prices were very reasonable considering the quality. I will be back. It’s small, so you must book.
We have visited this Hotel a number of times when in the area & visiting the Highlands, and it never disappoints. The vista is incredible, on the banks of Loch Shiel overlooking the beauty of Glenfinnan Viaduct & surrounding area.
The history exudes through every stone of this beautiful, historic hotel & from the hotel grounds, to its interior, the decor is complementary, beautiful & very charming.
Visiting out of season, the hotel is nicely quiet, with friendly & attentive staff, offering excellent service. On this occasion we only visited for drinks, & a bowl of handcut, thick chips, but knowing from previous visits, food is good.
In season the dinning & seating areas can get busy, so it is good to book ahead.

Dismal service. Took almost an hour to get food - 2 pizzas and a garlic bread. Food was ok, nothing special, ate half at most. By the time it arrived, needed to eat or would have just left. Owner not helpful, not accepting they were in the wrong and made me feel uncomfortable. Very disappointing. Had been looking forward to it but won’t be back.
We enjoyed a delicious meal here on the last night of our holiday. The food was delicious, service so friendly and helpful and the setting was beautiful. We really appreciated that the restaurant took the time and trouble to prepare a simplified meal for one of our group so that we could all dine out together. We will definitely return here if we are lucky enough to visit Shetland again.
