I ordered the Gurkha Special Biryani to take away, it was absolutely lovely, but sadly far too much for me, would love to see half portions, it's the first time I have been to the Gurkha Kitchen, despite living here for 25 years, well worth a visit and very reasonably priced

I ordered a large fish and chips to take away. It was £18.50, but as it said there were 2 pieces of fish with the chips I decided this would be good to share with my partner. What a joke! 2 very small fish and hardly a portion of chips. Obviously not freshly cooked either. We went home still hungry. An absolute rip off and I certainly won’t be going there again.

Absolutely amazing owner and staff definitely the best place in shetland for lunch or dinner served with a friendly smile and top service very honest people highly recommended 10/10

Good food at a reasonable price from a varied menu featuring local produce. We ate there several times given that the food and service made it worth returning.

Walked in with a sense of envy, left 30 seconds later with disgust. The customer service alone makes you turn around. Avoid. Lerwick is great nearby, the competition is excellent.

I appreciated that they have gluten free options with gluten free bread. I took French toast with mascarpone cream and Shetland milk. Everything was good and tasty. One little thing.. I didn't like eating in a cardboard.. however it was a minor issue and I would recommend this place to other people.

Rather quiet when we visited, so no real atmosphere. Attached to a guest house so a slightly strange need to ring the doorbell to get in. The food was plentiful, reasonably tasty but not as highly seasoned as I am used to from other Thai restaurants. Beer was bottles only. Not expensive, but not cheap either, so overall worth a try but not outstanding as a dine in experience.

This was an excellent stop for breakfast (wish we had gone for lunch too). Had bacon and sausage whilst wife had bacon and egg - cooked from fresh and were very tasty Had a decent choice of jacket potato and fillings available too It’s not luxurious - down to earth with great food

Had a fabulous stay at this amazing hotel!! Staff were very helpful, friendly, welcoming and accommodating and went over and above with service! Had breakfast each morning and dinner on a few occasions and both were beyond exceptional (love that the menu changes each day… a bonus in itself) Rooms were well equipped and spotless Would highly recommend a stay here and I will most certainly be back!!.. thank you to all the staff that made our stay so amazing!! 😊

Excellent service! The service was very friendly, and the seafood soup I ordered was delicious.

Good at what it does - serves wholesome food at a reasonable cost. It will never be at the top of the tree but the service is good and the food is tasty. Atmosphere - music a bit too loud for my personal taste.

Welcome back to Dave and his excellent team, who now own MacKenzies. Massive step forward, simple but excellent menu, very well cooked food with perfect hosts A must if you are passing or an old customer who lost faith in the previous owner. Our Friday regular is back!

Nice people, very welcoming. Plum duck was excellent. Look upstairs to find this restaurant. It is now called TJ's and also serves Thai food.
