Had a fabulous stay at this amazing hotel!! Staff were very helpful, friendly, welcoming and accommodating and went over and above with service! Had breakfast each morning and dinner on a few occasions and both were beyond exceptional (love that the menu changes each day… a bonus in itself) Rooms were well equipped and spotless Would highly recommend a stay here and I will most certainly be back!!.. thank you to all the staff that made our stay so amazing!! 😊

What a wonderful place to stay with a view to die for. Loved it so much I’m going back in March. Curtis and Scot really looked after me in the Restaurant and a happy couple who made me feel right at home. Nothing was too much for them and even got to have puppy hugs from Marge, their 12 month old Daschound and not to mention awesome taste in music. The lady Chef cooked amazing meals as well, (sorry I can’t remember her name, Roaor I think). Tracy on Reception was very helpful and welcoming and even the cleaning staff were very nice. Very clean with a super comfy bed. Definitely one of the better Hotels I’ve stayed in.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a trip to Shetland. I can't praise the staff highly enough. They were very attention and you can see they take pride in their job. Would highly recommend this hotel. Accommodation and food were excellent. Loved the shields from the festival in the reception. The hotel also has a snooker table and a bar with pool, darts and a good selection of local drinks.

The Brae Hotel is a great place to stay. The food served was excellent and the wait staff in the restaurant went above and beyond.

The Restaurant was excellent and the service from 'the boys' outstanding. During my lengthy stay the Menu was varied and of very good quality. The let down was my bed, which was like sleeping on jelly, it literally moved and so led to sleepless nights.

Stopped off here for coffee following a trip to Eshaness. Hotel were very friendly and accommodating to us. We didn’t have any food just coffee but will certainly consider returning for a meal. The hotel was nice and clean and good service.

My Carer booked the Brae hotel on online. He didn't get a disability accessible room which ended up being in a normal room. We did ask when we arrived but they only had 1 which was in use. This is strange for a 35 room hotel. When we arrived there was stairs into the hotel but a lovely chap was outside sweeping the stairs and pointed us to a back door with a ramp. The door was locked on the outside but this chap went through the hotel and opened the door for us. I don't know his name but he used to leave the door ajar for us whilst he was working outside. We had a lovely stay. The staff where really friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel furniture was a bit dated but it was very clean in fact the whole room was clean and dust free. 1 window was facing the Norwegian sea inlet and it is very pretty. 1 window was facing some dog kennels. As you can imagine I was worried that the dogs would be barking all night or very early in the morning but the dogs didn't come out until after 8am so it wasn't a problem. The breakfast was very nice and cooked very well. Why a 4 star rather than a 5 star from us. It was the evening meal. There was 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 puddings. This changed every day to another 3 of each. On the day we had a dinner. I had to plump for a Mac and Cheese. It was OK but not worth £12. All options cost the same. £12 was for the main not all 3 course's. The portion sizes where also very small. Please note this was our opinion some one else would probably say it was enough for them. We would recommend this hotel.

Excellent Sunday dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. Could not fault a traditional Sunday roast which was great value.

Enjoyed our evening out here for daughters birthday. We had pre booked and also had a menu request that was suitable for daughter and it was no problem at all. Very relaxed atmosphere did not feel rushed at all. Waiter very attentive, did not catch his name originally from Poland is an asset to the hotel. All staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Food was cooked and presented very well. Added touches free juice and water, free ice cream after kids main meals and free tea and coffee were superb. Hotel very clean brilliant evening had by all. Daughter won't stop chirping "didn't I make a good choice and it's the best fish I've eaten out ever!" I have to agree she made a great choice we will be back.

Wonderful home made soup and an interesting display of shields from Up Helly Aa combined with a good selection of beers on tap makes this a great choice for a quick bite.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on wet and wild days and ended up eating there on two days. The restaurant was very quiet on both occasions, but the staff were welcoming and eager to please. The menu was limited but nice choices and good value for money, particularly for three courses. Food was nicely prepared and presented. We had the carvery one time and that was generously proportioned. Everything is professionally presented, nicely done but not pretentious. All in all good value for money.

Stayed here on an off for a period of 7 years while I was working in Shetland, every staff member I came in contact with was both polite and attentitive to my needs. The rooms were fitted out well and a bed so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning, the on suite bathrooms were well done out and finished to a good standard, the wifi was good and always came back to a warm room in the winter months. The restaurant and bar food was top notch and always a very good atmosphere in the adjoining bar with the locals who are very easy going. Over the years the hotel is getting very modernised and has now got a lovely reception area and I've been told a wine bar is opening soon so look forward to checking that out when I return to Shetland.Hope to see you all again in the near future,Danny

Was staying in the hotel whilst working in the area, the food was ok (I had fish and chips) but i have had better. If you are staying in the hotel its a convenient place to have dinner.

When you first realise that the building is actually a shop you are delighted to have found somewhere to buy food or in fact almost anything else you can think of. The bakery section is particularly welcome for hungry explorers. It’s a shame they don’t still have the DIY cafe.

Well appointed restaurant with fantastic views. We had a lunch and a dinner there. For dinner, venison, duck and pavlova all delicious. Cranachan ice cream very tasty but not what we would expect cranachan to be. Service perfectly reasonable. All very good, but not 5* excellent. Would go again.

Friendly staff, good food, plenty of gluten free options. First time I visited there was hardly any customers but the second time it was very busy so I was glad I reserved a table.
