The best restaurants in Forres Moray Highlands and Islands

Lovely little cafe with great selection on the menu. Staff very helpful. Food served quickly and was enjoyed by all four of us. Will definitely visit again

We're on holiday been to the Abbey for Sunday lunch which was amazing also went Saturday evening had the two steaks and a bottle of wine deal cooked to perfection (well done chef) staff We're very welcoming and helpful felt like we were in our local . Excellent all round .

Having been to this restaurant on multiple occasions on my visits to Forres it became one of my go to reliable restaurants where I knew I could get something tasty well prepared and at a relatively good price. I was incredibly shocked tonight to find part of th restaurant in darkness, the food bland, greasy, and full of food colouring. If they have changed ownership/ chef and tbh the 2 girls that are serving they shouldn’t have bothered! It was awful and now sadly I will not be back. I would rather skip dinner all together. Oh and be careful they don’t stick an extra dish on your bill without an apology!

Travelling back from Aberdeen and not wanting to finish our first time away without our now adult children, we decided to take the West Coast route home, weather was delightful and the views splendid. Getting tired and hungry we found ourselves in Findhorn a beautiful place nect to the sea. We decided to drop into the Crown and Anchor to see if there was room at the Inn. Luckily there was so after unpacking we went down to the bar for a warm by the fire and a drink. The selection of beers and other refreshments was amazing. After a drinks we took a look at the menu and again not disappointed. We ordered and our meal came promptly. Two empty plates later we had a nightcap from the whisky selection then off the bed for a sound night sleep. The staff are excellent and friendly as are the locals. Stumbled upon this farm shop and cafe while looking for a late lunch. Lovely menu with sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes etc. All food freshly made. We had ham sandwiches and a slice of cake, all of which were tasty. We ordered a child meal for our 21 month old son which consisted of a sandwich, few quavers, grapes and cucumber slices and a small chocolate bar (that they gave us after he ate his main meal, which was handy!). There is a big play area for children with lots of toys. The farm shop was well stocked and seemed to have a steady trade. On the way out the lady at the till said we could take some cabbage leaves to feed the cows with, which I’m sure was the highlight for my son (and hubby hehe)!

We had a delicious takeaway meal with friendly service at an excellent price. The vegetarian dish was particularly impressive but all four dishes were wonderful.

Lots of opportunities to spend your money on high end goods, plus a beautiful deli. Unfortunately for us we had to travel light so could partake in purchases. But it was a very nice place to stop for lunch, and we had a local specialty which was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the service quick and food top rate. Definitely one to recommend

We had a really lovely meal at The Kimberley. Food was some of the best we’ve had during our stay in Scotland and the Outer Hebridean Islands. Service was exceptional and atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely be back… probably this evening!!

Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff. Really good prices. Had coffee and the Victoria sponge which was absolutely divine. Will definitely be back.

Good service, that's where the good ends. Food was poor, just moved to the area from Aberlour where both Aberlour and Rothes were 100% better. Each dish was a soggy mess and tasted bad. Shame as the staff were friendly and polite. Not returning.

Convenient place in the High Street to meet friends . Nice selection of food and drinks. Pleasant surroundings .

The food was fresh and tasty. We ordered lots of different dishes and all full of flavour. Best Chinese we’ve had for a long time. The man even cooked our food fresh as my husband forgot his wallet. Very good customer service.

Really enjoyed the good and service at this cafe. Outdoor seating, inside there is ground floor and mezzanine floor tables. The special of Sweet Chilli Chicken fillets was fabulous. Chocolate cake was said to be very good.

Came here for a drink a couple of days ago and we were impressed with the friendly service, and the vegan options, so came back for dinner. Not disappointed - lovely food and lovely service.

Went with my mum yesterday and I was really impressed. We had haddock fish & chips, onion rings, chicken fillet and curry sauce. We enjoyed the fish and chicken fillet with curry sauces. The fish was fresh, no bone and fried to perfection with the crunch of batter. The portion of chips and onion rings were very big. It was really good, excellent taste and not expensive. The staffs were really kind. Dining there made our day. Will be back again.
