Oh oh,..this was always our go to place for excellent fish and chips…this is the first time we have had reason to complain about the food…chips are now “skin on fries”…awful….mass produced chips that a lot of places serve…fish was still good, but the batter wasn’t as light and crispy as it used to be…..still no option between garden peas and mushy peas but that’s a personal thing! (Although we have been requesting this option for years)

Very nice traditional type bar/restaurant. Food is good, as is the atmosphere and service. If you can get a seat outside, the views are beautiful. The only negative is that it is a bit too cosy in the bar area. Small tables that are supposed to accommodate four make you feel as though you're sitting with the table next to you.

So we went back to the Kimberly for lunch today been there many times before and always had a good experience but today was a bit of an eye opener. We went in and asked can we have lunch no problem said the barman we got handed menus and ordered a couple of drinks that will be £££ said the barman can we pay at the end of our meal? No you have to pay as you order i was told so i paid for the drinks then had to pay when we ordered our food than decided to have a sweet had to pay again i went to get a coffee and had to pay yet again. During all this a foreign couple came in and had drinks food and more drinks then payed for everything when they were leaving. I am not sure what is going on but did they think a couple of pensioners were going to do a runner on them? Apart from that the food was good as always but I will think again about going back the next time we visit Findhorn

The moment we walked in, we knew we were going to enjoy the atmosphere of the dog friendly pub. A big smiling welcome from the staff and a lovely log fire. The real ales were delightful and were struggling to decide what to eat, everything looked so good. Good portions served and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Will undoubtedly return when next in Scotland!

The entrance to the Kimberley Inn is hidden off the front but the welcome was warm. With a good selection of beers, lagers and ciders on draught there was plenty to choose from. The menu also had a good selection of starters including soups, haggis and pate but we close just to have a main course. The chicken burger was a lovely tasty butterflied breast of chicken in a thin batter with barbecue sauce served with chips and coleslaw. My husband had fish and chips which looked great - a large fish in thin crispy batter. It’s about £17 each for main courses but we had no complaints as they were hot and tasty and the service was quick and friendly.

Not the first time we have been for lunch. Both visits have been a good experience, food plentiful, we describe it as good pub food. Friendly helpful staff who were able to offer gluten free options, without fuss. Food not too hot, this is a comment not a criticism, otherwise we would have raised it at the time. Yes some tables are tight to each other, but it is a catering business which is a pub, low margins and profitable via volume. If you don't like the closeness use the outside seating. Steak pie was tasty, with the fish and chips adapted to gluten free.

Nice pub but tables are squeezed together and so poor leg room due to unused stools needing to be stored under the table to keep them out of the way. It is dog-friendly but there is little space for them to sit without being under your feet or in the way of the food servers. Fish and chips was sadly very greasy. The other food options looked good though and the staff are very frindly.

We were seated in the area up from the bar. Literally feet from the bar. Had to get up and get menus. Pay for the meal and drinks up front and pay when we we ordered drinks I get it if we were outside, but inside? It would be so much better if there was even a basic meal service arrangement.

Touring Morayshire we decided to try our luck getting Sunday lunch at this pub. Parking in the street was busy so we weren't sure we'd get in. But we did. The draft cask ale I had was from local Lossiemouth Windswept Brewery and it was excellent. Also available was local cask ale from Aviemore's Cairngorm Brewery. I'd have had both if Scottish drink driving laws weren't so strict. The staff we met were all so efficient and friendly. But special mention for the chef. That was the best Haddock I have ever had. Bar none. Seek this place out. Its terrific.

I’ve been coming to the Kimberly for over 20 years and in the past it has been nothing other than exceptional. The food was superb the staff attentive and fun nothing short of a superb gastronomic experience. Sadly this year they have lost waiting staff and kitchen professionals and it is making a measurable difference in the quality of the food and service. On my last 3 visits the food has been average to say the least with my last meal being awful. It’s so sad to see a brilliant dining experience being reduced to a very average venue. We won’t be going back until we hear that there is a demonstrative change.

The pub charged me £10.50 for two and half "pints" of warm and bland local ale. Not the fault of the breweries by the way. The pub uses a tight nozzle on their pumps which froths-up the ale and creates a creamy head (you get given a "pint" with a massive bishop's collar, as its known in Guinness drinking circles) How this practise is allowed considering the prices I don't know?

Designer-food miniscule Goats chees salad had a small sprinkling of cheese, mainly boiled beetroot. Rigid no refund policy, just defiance when I complained. Mini bowl of chips £3'50. So a starter, chips and half of cider cost £12-50. Last time ( why did i go back ?) my £12 quorn curry was just chunks with a jar sauce on top and rice, no veg, no chutney. This place let's itself down with poor customer service. Just because you have a good venue shouldn't mean you don't have to try. We were a large party there recently and were disappointed with the general attitude ( apart from the helpful young guy behind the bar) If an area is booked for a special occasion, you don't expect to find that one of your tables have been rebooked from 9pm and friends refused access ( especially when nobody actually turned up to use the table). So my review would be "must try harder"

A nice old pub with a cosy atmosphere and a good choice of pub food, although as said in another review the menu could do with refreshing. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. As its popular it can get busy and some diners linger after their meal which limits the free tables. We experienced some confusion with a booking so possibly better to try and get there early when its quiet. Various seating areas inside, better view from the front room window if you can get a seat there, or eat out front, weather permitting. Best of all take a drink and sit on the benches outside and watch the sun set over the bay. I've been to Findhorn a few times over the years and thought the Kimberley was the better of the two pubs in the village as I felt the other pub, one minutes walk away, was quiet and seemed to favor the local RAF personnel. However the RAF have now left the area and the other village pub has greatly improved inside and has a good menu, so possibly the Kimberley may need to up its game. However the Kimberley still has the old village charm, atmosphere and a good location so I would still try there first.

Perhaps I chose the wrong meal, but I was not impressed with the food. I chose a venison burger, which came with chips and coleslaw. I found the burger dry and tough, which was a disappointment. My colleagues chose a cheese burger, and they were happy with their meals. I thought the food was quite expensive for pub food, and burgers.

There is little doubt that the setting of the Kimberley is pleasant but unless you are in the front room overlooking the Bay the bar area tables have no windows and no view. When full the place can get noisy and the service slow. The food menu rarely changes and is nothing special; it is not particularly good value but the helpings are large and you need to be hungry to fit in the puddings on offer. On a quiet day give it a try but when it is overfull it is not worth the wait.

Over the last 8 years we have visited the Kimberley Inn on numerous occasions and usually enjoyed it. The setting is stunning if the weather permits you to sit outside and enjoy it, as it is set on the edge of a sea lagoon. There is often plenty to look at and it is good to work one's lunch/dinner off afterwards with a walk on the beach. As far as the food is concerned - this can be variable and range from the excellent to the absolutely bog standard and not very exciting. The menu does not change that regularly, but my suspicion would be that the chef does, as we have ordered the same things frequently over the years and the presentation and quantity has varied hugely. Standards include scallops wrapped in bacon with chilli sauce - variable in quality and quantity, fish and chips - always good, and huge portions, scampi and chips - very standard, and on our last visit my sister in law only got about 4 scampi, steak and ale pie - fine, mussels in season - good and reasonable quantity. I feel that they could do more with their seafood. What they do is unadventurous and fairly basic and I would think that there are a sufficient number of people living locally, who would enjoy more interesting food, that they would do better if they revamped the menu a little. My children rate the puddings - in particular the Mars Bar Cheesecake. The portion size does vary a little, but it is very rich and so a small quantity is enough. The pavlova we ordered on our last visit fed three easily. If you are going at a weekend of good weather, or during a weekend in which there is some activity going on at nearby Gordonstoun school, book in advance. Discuss with them also if they are happy to have children under 16 as we have also occasionally been told they do not want them in the pub after about 8.

The Kimberley Inn, although small internally, is a lovely quaint restaurant that serves up some outstanding cheesey baguettes and delicious Mussels along with many other delicious meals.... Definitely worth a visit after a trip on the boats or a beach stroll!! Friendly and welcoming staff with reasonable prices.

I went to this pub a few years ago and it was great. This time, the service was rubbish and the food mediocre. Could've spoilt our hol if we had let it. Pricey and staff forgot my tea.. We were the only people in the bar! They also said a price for the food then apologised and said it was more. The last straw was they said they couldn't bring food over the road to us as they weren't insure, after they had said it was ok. Wish I had read David M's post before we went there... My family were disappointed.

I ate here quite a few times when we were in the area. I loved the food and the services was good and friendly. They even allowed us to take out little JRT into the bar which was nice as he suffered from seperation anxiety.

This is in a really unique setting-sitting outside watching the sunset on the bay is a treat. The food is generally very good, fresh salad, and extremely generous fish portions. In the winter, there is a huge open fire. The building is very old and has lots of character.

I popped in for a drink and a bite to eat after an afternoon on the water. Both myself and my dog were given a warm welcome and had a delicious lamb shank. If you're lucky enough to get a seat outside the view is incredible as the sun sets. I've been since and will certainly be returning this summer!

We visited the Kimberly last year for a meal with family. We all had a main course and drinks. The food was great, the burger was especially good. The service was fine and the restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. It was a bit of a shame that there were no peas or anything served with the fish and chips but the standard of food was good all the same. I was a bit disappointed when visiting previously that I wasn't allowed to have just a glass of water from the bar. I think they wanted me to pay for a proper drink. It was a bit of a let down as we had just walked about 6 miles. Would return as the price is reasonable and the food/portion sizes are generous.

Been going here for years and each year the staff, service and value for money deteriorates. Self righteous attitude of bar staff verges on hilarious if it wasn't for the fact I'm parting with hard eArned cash for over priced mediocre grade food and drink. If you are visiting findhorn avoid this nuveao country gastro pub and go visit the crown and anchor instead where staff are pleasant, food is great, value assured and genuine hospitality assured. Kimberley should look to itself laurels instead of a Rachman approach to village pub food and grub.

Awesome place with a gigantic choice of scotch whisky as well as a large collection of japanese whisky. This combined with a absolutley cozy atmosphere, delicious food and very very friendly staff makes it a fabulous place to spend the evening. I had the classic haggis balls as a starter, the fish&chips as main and toffee cake as a dessert. Everything was just outstanding. It was so good, we will pay it another visit tonight.

Stopped here for brunch. Great service in the restaurant. Our food was served quickly and tasted fantastic. The Christmas shop display is also super. Well done everyone. This will become our new stop off on the Aberdeen to Inverness journey. 🙂

Great food and friendly staff. Loved the Sunday roast. Our dog is allowed to sit with us at the table in the entrance foyer. Keith & Lorraine
