The community cafe is an amazing place in Forres. If you live here, this is one of the places where you can find a lot of activity. Right from toddlers to elderly people all spend time here.

Apparently the opening times mean nothing and they decide to close whenever they like. Went in today and was turned away as it was too quiet! Wasn’t even offered the option to get take away cake and drinks. I will never be going back.

Afternoon tea was very nice, lovely sandwiches, very fresh. Scones and cakes I'm sure are not baked on premises but we're good. Will go again. Worth the money.

I visited here with my wife and found an excellent cafe hidden away at the rear of the Community Centre. Quaint, clean and well furnished with tables and chairs. I did not know that this resting place existed, until going there by chance. We had an enjoyable midday meal comprising of delicious home made soup and sandwich. Having found this cafe I will definitely visit again.

Great little cafe hidden inside the community centre. Lots of space to sit, tables with chairs or get comfy on a sofa. The choice on the menu was perfect, something for every one. Inexpensive too. £8.50 for soup with bread and a soup with a sandwich. We will return.

Is this really a charity training the handicapped ? We didnt see any in several visits. Feels like a regular cafe... Food is unpretentious. Same soup every day of our holiday week.Kids thunder through noisily - its partly a corridor to a sports hall so if you want peace go elsewhere.

Delicious place for a soup and sandwich lunch or tea and cakes. Also amazing afternoon teas served on a lovely cake stand and using china cakes. Very reasonable prices too.

This is a small cafe located within a Community Centre. We had lunch: lentil soup, baked potatoes with cheese and chutney, a vegetarian platter, lattes and an Americano. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, I liked the way the meals were presented on lovely plates and the portions were good and modestly priced. It's got a range of different types of seating. I understand this cafe is aimed at providing training and work experience for the disabled. Suitable for disabled access. There is no immediate parking that I am aware of but a few minutes away there are several car parks. Staff friendly and helpful. Magazine and brochure rack. Would I go back? - Yes

We attended a wedding last weekend then stayed overnight. Beautiful food and room. Room spotless and staff went over and above for us all day. Really friendly

As someone one else has pointed out, it’s now called the Spey Inn. Was there earlier this week for lunch as in area and parents recommended it from a visit a year or so ago. It was quiet but we got a friendly welcome from the two members of staff. My parents commented on the size of the menu which has apparently changed and did seemed limited in choices. 3 of us ordered the Cullen Skink soup. It tasted fine but not much fish ands lots of potatoes. Three of us then had sandwiches, the Club sandwich was very good, well filled with bacon, tomato etc and was tasty. Me and my mum both had the egg mayonnaise sandwich. It looked different in that it was 2 whole slices of toast which I thought may have been included in the description. That said I can live with this, however what was very unusual and disappointing was the quantity of filling in these two sandwiches. It appeared that there was a smear of egg mayo as in the quantity of butter you would spread on a slice of bread (and in this case it was spread onto 2 slices of thick toast). Without exaggerating it appeared that 1 egg had been used to fill 2 sandwiches . The salad that accompanied it was nice and the fish and chips the other member of our group had was apparently good. We did mention it to the server who said he’d mention our views to the chef, but it just seemed odd. We also mentioned to a member of staff at an early stage of our visit, that there was no soap in the gents toilets (you could clearly see the soap dispenser was empty when you walked in), however when leaving some time later this had not been rectified, despite the fact the restaurant was not busy. It wasn’t a cheap lunch and it was fairly disappointing overall. Unless this was a one off, don’t think I would return.

Excellent in every way! We ate here 4 times in 4 days, 2 lunches and 2 evening meals. Good is fresh, delicious and decent portion sizes. The “Specials” truly live up to their name. Particular highlights included mussels in white wine sauce, haddock goujons and the brisket. 3 of us are coeliac and they provided us with an allergens menu. They had run out of GF bread/rolls some days but kindly allowed us to use our own. Service was friendly and staff happy to answer/clarify and queries we had. Small wine list with lovely choices to suit the cuisine. Highly recommended!
