Really enjoyed our night at Smoo Cave Hotel. Hugh and Frances were lovely hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Two clean and comfortable rooms next to each other which suited the family well. Amazing views in both directions. Delicious evening meal - chilli and rice and prawn cocktail. Hearty breakfast and we were on our way. Really recommend.

Please please please keep your website and sites like this updated . We drove 60 miles each way (3 hours in total) and you were closed . We have visited before and really want to support you by returning . The man in the shop in Durness said many others have said the same . It is misleading

I have traveled on business for 50 years Perhaps 5 thousand hotel nights in over 100 countries .... This remote property has a beautiful old well furnished lounge, but sadly the rooms are old and tired too and in need of a serious upgrade. Usually places with "character" have redeeming features so you forgive all the imperfections... They had indeed installed new flat screen TV's but failed to tune them in ....so most guests would be very frustrated trying to get anything The bathroom was large but had mould , the heater in my room was broken but there was a fan heater so we did not freeze . As a holiday property owner myself , replacing wall heaters is par for the course as is mould cleaning ... I payed £107 plus £30 for breakfast ...and the had only one type of breakfast tea available ... how much are tea bags ? Obviously prices vary every day but £137 for B&B offseason in my book is overpriced The dinner was in my opinion only OK nothing special On the plus side the location could not be faulted and the receptionist was welcoming

Stopped enrout for lunch, severed a very basic plastic cheeses on toast with half a tomato.... a cherry tomato!! The three of us got half a cherry tomato each, only place I know that cuts cherry tomatoes in half.... we left wondering what happened to the odd half? Serves on thick sliced white bread all very 1970s

What a perfect find. My friends and I took a trip from the black isle over to the hub today. Kids had a blast, adults could have a break and watch the kids, the food was great and prices were extremely reasonable. Staff were fabulous and great with the kids. The charity shop part was full of treasures, well laid out and great prices. Absolutely thrilled and will certainly be back. 100/100

Really enjoyed my food. Was really tasty sea bass dish with couscous cous and other meals were nice as well. However, at £50 a head you have to ask was it worth it and the answer is no. There was also a £3 surcharge for a cheese dessert which is a bit cheeky. The main issue I had was with the service. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant as such until it got busier and our table was up near where they all stand as people come in. Just felt we were being watched the whole time and then just as we finished our courses someone was in your face taking the plate away. This is great service it’s fast service. Not what I want when I’m out for a meal. We did enjoy the bar afterwards as well so rates 4 as whole experience was good, but some serious issues to tackle which would prevent me returning.

Food was good enough, very basic menu and unfortunately the restaurant was shut which I was gutted about as the menu looked fantastic. Only had a takeaway menu available which was mostly frozen food, also is to be expected seeing as you’re in the middle of nowhere! Staff were lovely, very on the ball. Drinks were well priced.

Really nice pub, great atmosphere, good honest tasty food at reasonable prices. Staff really friendly and polite. Very dog friendly. Pool and darts available. Park up for the night in a motorhome, no one minds.

We called in when visiting Smoo Caves to a burger van in the carpark of this cafe. Served by a very friendly lady and had amazing burgers, hot dogs, bacon rolls and drinks. Refreshing to be somewhere where you are welcomed. We sat out on the picnic tables. Highly recommend.
