The Black Bull is no more. The Bull was a decent wee auld man's boozer, handy for the station and with a decent pint too. It wasn't the best looking pub, but will be missed. 'Kentigerns', as it's now called, still does a decent pint and they've upgraded the decor. Full of students now, no atmosphere. Jury's out for now.
Waited over 30 mins before asking where my order was........kitchen apparently lost it! Had to wait a further 20 mins. No apology or free prawn crackers. Rubbish service and won't be back.
Ordered there every week , today the people treated us is unbelievable . Pure rude , and as the woman in the shop says " she dont even care"
Definitely not going back after that ! And will post it everywhere on.social media , having prove of order , they sent wrong order and dont wanted give money back . Saying in the shop they dont want to look at order confirmation cos she dont care . Wow honestly no words
I come to this establishment after a long day of work especially because it’s on my way home.
Last night I also stopped by for my 2 glass of Chardonnay and 2 shots of sambuca because I did had a rough day. When I went to the bar to order for my friend a drink I got told to I’ve can’t be served anymore because I am to drunk, when I asked why and what is the excuse. The answer was, we don’t have to give one because that’s the “standards”. Multiple times I’ve asked why not and if someone can please explain to me.
By the way I am also working in this Industry and I am a manager myself. Nothing no explanation.
I left the bar went to my table and said well that’s a first no more drinks for me and the “manager” that actually looks half my age followed me and told me I have to get out because I am drunk and she can’t understand me.
Mind you I am from the Caribbean and have a different accent haha writing this actually have me laughing. So I guess here we got the explanation why I sounded “to drunk” cuz missy couldn’t understand me and thought she was right. By the way wetherspoons is 90% full of drunks.
But here we go - Welcome to Wetherspoon ;)
delivery was good, however I got the wrong risotto. I ordered the chicken, garlic, cream one with fresh parsley but I received a tomato, onion and chicken one.

I stayed at the Best Western in Glasgow recently and was thoroughly disappointed. The room was outdated, with stained carpets and a musty smell that never went away. The heating barely worked, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned — there were hairs in the shower and mold in the corners.
The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful when I raised concerns. I also had issues with noise throughout the night, both from other guests and from the street outside due to poor soundproofing.
Overall, this was far below the standard I expected from a Best Western. I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.
Good city centre location for food and drinks. Had the steak and sausage pie which was nice but not amazing. No sausage in it but I was fine with just the steak! Overload of peas on the plate. Everyone else had mac n cheese in my group which they all said was good. Service was patchy- still waiting on the vinegar for my chips. Great pub for drinks but wouldn’t rush back- just so so for me.
We had a great afternoon of dancing and eating. The food was chicken tenders, pizza or burger's. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was great. The dancers and to top it off Queen Gary were amazing. The price was very reasonable for the dance and food with 22 x drinks
