Not a big place, but lovely choice of genuine homemade soups and bakes. Toasties made to order, also paninis. We'll worth a visit.

Walked into the Spice House of the street and ordered what I wanted, They accept money or card for payment. Didn't have to wait ages for meal to go. Nice helpful staff also cater for your dietary requirements. It wasn't that late so only a few people eating in, definitely will be back.

Well, I couldn't have imagined last years Christmas lunch could have been beaten but WOW....had the most fabulous meal from the Christmas set menu this week and it truly was exceptional! Presentation and flavours were beautiful. As always the service and atmosphere were also superbđ

Regularly visit the Juniper Lea for our dinner usually on a Saturday afternoon, food is always fantastic and very reasonably priced. Always get a warm welcome from Carly or one of the waitresses which is always nice. A must is the fish and chips always a 10/10.

Before we arrived had speedy replies ro any questions, owner called us on the day to check when we would be arriving as he had to pop out and didn't want to miss us. On arrival we were met by Emma who was just so friendly helpful and smiley we booked breakfast for the next day for ÂŁ8 each. We went to the bistro for tea prices of drinks reasonable and for the size of the portions of food the price reasonable again we were served well by Emma. The room was fairly clean and comfortable peeling borders on the walls weren't great and folder on window ledge was quite dusty but otherwise room spot on. Loved the history of the navaar and how they tried to incorporate within the decorations in the room. Was very shocked to arrive back after a day in Edinburgh to find the room had been service and supplies restocked really nice touch. Could hear the bus going passed quite early in the morning but I'm a very light sleeper.

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.

After a chilly walk in the park and a fun hike, our family found the perfect place to relax and enjoy a warm meal. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. The kids started their day with the most amazing hot chocolateârich, creamy, and sweet, just perfect for warming them up. Meanwhile, we enjoyed delicious cappuccinos to kickstart the day. For lunch, the smoked ham soup with vegetables was a real standoutâhearty, flavorful, and comforting after the cold weather. The kids also loved their sandwichesâfresh, tasty, and just the right size to fill them up. And of course, we couldnât leave without trying the red velvet cake. It was soft, sweet, and absolutely delightfulâa perfect end to our meal. This place offered everything we needed: delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and the friendliest hosts. Weâll definitely be back next time weâre in the area!
