Not a big place, but lovely choice of genuine homemade soups and bakes. Toasties made to order, also paninis. We'll worth a visit.

Walked into the Spice House of the street and ordered what I wanted, They accept money or card for payment. Didn't have to wait ages for meal to go. Nice helpful staff also cater for your dietary requirements. It wasn't that late so only a few people eating in, definitely will be back.

What a wonderful experience at the Dean Tavern. The venue itself is lovely, and the staff are truly fantastic. We worked closely with Ellie, who was very welcoming and helpful. The show went smoothly, and the support from the team made all the difference. Would definitely recommended for any event! We very much look forward to returning.

Loved the food, we are vegetarian. The choices were great. My vegan beetroot ravioli was so good. All of the staff were so kind and efficient, it was a pleasure to dine here. I went here for my rehearsal dinner! The food was absolutely fantastic and they were extremely accommodating! I would highly recommend to everyone!

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Lovely IPA on tap. We ate some lovely food - we had the haggis scotch eggs with crunchy wide salad, beef cheeks and battered fish. Would definitely recommend.

Loved this place, but the munchie box is now terrible. The chips are soggy, defo not salt and pepper everything is bland. need the sauce to add any flavor. Definitely going downhill. Will be looking elsewhere from now on

Absolutely amazing take away food and service. Every time I visit Dalkieth, I never fail to pick up a meal or two.

Before we arrived had speedy replies ro any questions, owner called us on the day to check when we would be arriving as he had to pop out and didn't want to miss us. On arrival we were met by Emma who was just so friendly helpful and smiley we booked breakfast for the next day for £8 each. We went to the bistro for tea prices of drinks reasonable and for the size of the portions of food the price reasonable again we were served well by Emma. The room was fairly clean and comfortable peeling borders on the walls weren't great and folder on window ledge was quite dusty but otherwise room spot on. Loved the history of the navaar and how they tried to incorporate within the decorations in the room. Was very shocked to arrive back after a day in Edinburgh to find the room had been service and supplies restocked really nice touch. Could hear the bus going passed quite early in the morning but I'm a very light sleeper.

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.
