So... our usual Chinese even though we live in Bonnyrigg... last night food was disappointing. The chicken fried rice was "wetter" and all ingredients not mixed through same with the Char Siu Fried rice. Both plain rice with a dash of soy sauce and peas topped with semi-shredded chicken and chopped pork. Overall, it was tasteless and not attractive at all. The Beef with Broccoli was really not good. Congealed and the broccoli were as limp as an elastic band. The Chinese Chicken Curry was good (don't mind the cubed frozen chicken pieces they use) and the sauce was flavoursome. Will give it one more go. Maybe you've got a new chef or just had an off night...

Tasty food and good value for money. **Edit from 4 years ago ** I never ever do this but our food last night (11/02/2024) and the time before (January 2024) was unfortunately awful, to the point I only ate 1/4 before binning it and felt quite sickly. Not sure what's happened, thought last time was maybe a one off bad meal. The chow mein noodles tasted strange & very very dry. I wonder if they've changed the type or suppliers?. My partners BBQ sauce was flavourless and very watery. The chips however were much better than last time. Such a shame if this is the new standard 😕

Ordered breast of chicken curry it came in cubes called them they said that's how it comes eh don't think so

Best Chinese in Dalkeith in my opinion, never had a bad Chinese in all the visits I’ve made, food is always piping hot and full of flavour, Portion sizes are generous especially if getting chow Mein dishes or fried rice dishes as these are in larger round containers, The best curry’s and sweet n sour chicken and the salt n pepper dishes are delicious especially salt n pepper chicken balls with extra seasoning and veggies with a side of honey chilli sauce or peking sauce 👌🏽👌🏽

I regularly order from this takeaway, and every time I have been very satisfied with their food. Usually, the delivery arrives on time, but there are exceptions.

This place is amazing. Been Here a few times. Good Prices, good portion sizes and great food.

My partner and i used to order a lot from Frendlies when we stayed in Dalkeith, food was always delicious, fresh, served fast. We popped in after almost 2 years expecting lovely meal but unfortunately quality went downhill massively. Fries were appalling, as if they were reheated. Shredded honey chilli chicken was not only chewy, but didn't have a taste of chilli at all. Chicken chow mein was edible, but some noodles were uncooked (hard and dry). Mongolian chicken was decent. Quite good actually. Not sure what happened to Frendlies, perhaps we were just unlucky. Now i know why the place was deserted on Friday night. Will give another go in the future, but today was quite a disappointment. I very much hope it was just our bad luck.

First time using this place. Got a munchie box and a portion of fried rice. Got to say it was amazing one of the best we have ever had. We have just moved to dalkeith and have found our chinese takeaway. We are greedy btw and there was more than enough for the two of us. Had to wait 20 minutes but worth it. Place was really busy which tells you all you need to know.

Щойно замовили та спробували.. Неймовірно смачно.. Не знали, що замовити для нас з чоловіком та двома дітьми, звернулись за порадою до жіночки, що приймала замовлення.. Результатом надзвичайно вражені.. Дуже рекомендуємо це місце. Смачна їжа та ввічливий персонал Дякуємо!

5 starts to get attention ! Avoid the place ! We Picked up an order which was just cooked, it took us 5 mins to get home and dish it and the food was cold and tasteless and there was a long black hair in the rice ! . When My partner phoned to complain She was spoken to by Someone with a severe attitude problem and they refused to offer any solution to they’re mistake . Disgusting food & disgusting service .

Absolutely awesome takeaway. Discovered this recently, and had a few meals from here now. Every meal has been excellent. Definitely worth a look.

Very disappointed this time, I go to this takeaway on occasions, and this is first time I didn't enjoy it. My favourite Turbo Chow Mein was tasteless, it was like they forgot to add salt, totally bland. Wife got a dry chow mein and says hers was same. Hope it's better next time.

By far the best Chinese food in Midlothian. Also very clean place, cleaner than all the chip shops in Dalkeith combined.

The food here is really good - we have eaten from here a lot. Good portion sizes and very tasty. Staff are brilliant too.

Fantastic Chinese, we usually order and collect. Delivery is always true to time expect an hour wait. Favourites are crispy shredded chicken chilli and honey sauce (extra chilli) Lemon chicken (the sauce is perfect along with the chicken crispy but not dry) Chicken and Ham fried rice. Can't recommend any other local Chinese! It has to be Friendlies.

Just had our first meal from this place and safe to say we will b back. Absolutely delicious and friendly staff too.

Called up this Chinese 3 times. Unimpressed as they declined our orders and were very very rude towards us, we were very hungry and wanted our takeaway. DON'T order from here
