Great place for a coffee and a sandwich or cake. This café was an unlikely find first time round and well worth a second visit. The Portuguese 'pastel de nata' are the genuine homemade article and out of this world. There is a large fridge with a range of tempting cakes and desserts. The menu also features soup, baked potatoes and breakfast items. As the café is within a modern community centre accessibility for folks with mobility issues or parents with young children is very good. Table service.

We have ordered Thai Ban since they began delivering and the food and service are top notch! 👌 the best food delivery in the area.

Stopped at Brunch Box on a whim while road tripping from Edinburgh to the Lake District, could not have been happier with the service or the food. The woman working there even happily made a off-menu item for my vegetarian girlfriend.

I came in yesterday at 9:55 AM and the two men were very kind and made sure my breakfast tasted very good I got a hot choclate and a bacon roll and I loved it , all other greggs don't make them as delicious as this location , I was working at my wee stall down the road

Mi experiencia en Costco fue bastante agradable y estaba bastante satisfecho con mi visita a la sección de patio de comidas. Tenían una gran variedad de productos, aptos para la mayoría. Había probado el hot dog, helado y pollo cocido, el hot dog era realmente barato para que tuviera tanto sabor manteniendo una textura jugosa. El helado venía en una taza pero podía venir en un cono con más sabores pero el de la taza tenía una textura suave como si lo hubieran conseguido de una furgoneta de helados. Había oído hablar del pollo horneado de muchas plataformas de redes sociales en el pasado, pero nunca lo había probado yo mismo, tenía sentimientos encontrados mientras lo comía por razones tales como; había un ligero sabor a quemado que apenas se notaba, estaba caliente que descubrí cuando mi mamá lo mordió. Aparte de eso era bastante agradable y lleno de sabores. Mi familia y yo disfrutamos de nuestra visita y sin duda recomendaría ir.

Enormous breakfasts (meat and vegetarian options) that were delicious in a quirky environment with excellent and friendly service. A must visit cafe in Penicuik tucked out of the way. Highly recommended.

Not only excellent food lovely and fresh but the ladies running the business are very polite and great at their job making you feel very welcome, so much more than a burger van, can't recommend enough

We had a brewery tour yesterday. 🤩 Booked a table, to have pizza before the tour. Wanted to try some beer (20 on the menu), asked for beer flight but the waitress has never heard about such a thing 🤔. It would be good to introduce it... Anyway, the beer we ordered was delicious, tried Hazy IPA Pinapple & Pinky and the Grain shandy first. Our pizza arrived quickly and was truly marvellous! (Capricciosa for me, Buffalo chicken for my husband). We had time for another beer before the tour, we had Black and Blue Sour & Moa Mountain. Excellent again. The tour guide, Jeff, was very welcoming, informative, answered all my questions. 🤩 We enjoyed the tour very much! There is a video from the humble beginnings (and you can see the first brewery kit later in the brewery! 😃) to recent times, there is a walk around the brewery - with interesting facts about the ingredients, brewing and packaging, you can take photos and taste some beers, buy Stewart-themed souvenir - and beer to take some home with you in a beautiful growler 😉. The only thing I didn't like is, that last order is at nine in the bar. So we finished our brewery tour, and than we hardly had any time to enjoy more beer in the bar. And sooo many more to try, we have to go back 😁. We are thinking of a "Brew it yourself" experience next!

Ordered the chicken satay and chicken pad Thai it was absolutely amazing! The service was top class ordered for collection it was ready in 10 minutes, the staff were super polite and friendly! Defo coming back and I would highly recommend

Have been going to this resturant regularly for nearly 10 years. Always giving it a 5 star rating. Last night for my wife’s birthday we visited again expecting our usual high standards. Firstly, the food was excellent as normal, no issues there at all. But for some strange reason our engagement with the staff including the owner was very “flat and low energy”. We waited 40 minutes for our first course to be delivered , Arancini and Mozarella Fritta …. No one explained why the wait was so long. Apart from asking for our order and delivering the food there was NO attempt to engage in conversation with us…. A mile away from the experience when Marisa was front of house in the early days. This was the first time in ten years going to Gigi’s that I haven’t left a tip. Your food is excellent, you need to refocus your standards of service as your prices are now at “ Edinburgh” levels… so the experience needs to be top notch. Also an increase in Veggie pasta options would be a good idea both for the customers and your profit line. Hope to come back and also hear some more good reviews. Disappointed local and big advocate of Gigi’s Bonnyrigg.

Went for lunch with a friend who lives in Penicuik. Amazing value compared with anywhere in Edinburgh. Good freshly prepared food and friendly, helpful service.
