We planned a quick supper here prior to an evening engagement. A big mistake. This is a little gem of a place that deserves to be the reason for a night out, not just a convenient adjunct. The welcome was warm and accommodating. The service was friendly and faultless. The atmosphere was relaxed with lots of small groups clearly enjoying a convivial evening. The food was plentiful and thoroughly delicious. The bill was modest for what we were served. All in all, a highly recommended experience. Please do not flock here as we want to be sure there will be space for us when we book our next dinner!!

The lamb chops I had for starters were delicious and tasted even better with the mint yogurt. Then the "Bheda Ko Masu" lamb on the bone with a very flavorful sauce and the rice cooked to perfection. My stepmother and brother also really enjoyed their food. The owner was super friendly and a very funny man, he made us feel welcome I would recommend this place for sure 😁. 10/10. We'll be back.

Visited the Gurkhas on the way back from the World Cycling Championships at Glentress. The reviews were good, so we thought let’s give it a go. It was so good that we went back two days later after the cycling again. I’ve eaten in so top curry houses in London, Birmingham and Leeds. The Gurkhas is right up there with the best. Fantastic Danzak, Dupiaza and Korma were consumed along with stunning naan. The manager is the nicest guy too. Next time we’re biking at Glentress we’ll certainly be back at the Gurkhas. Shame it’s a couple of hundred miles away or we’d be regulars

We had the best night out. It was a family get together. We had come over from New Zealand to visit family. The food was yummy. We had many different dishes and they all tasted lovely. The service was excellent and that is what made the night so much fun. The waiter/manager had the best sense of humor that really made our night. Thank you for an excellent night out.

This was a chance find and it turned out to be a great choice. Friendly staff, freshly cooked food and reasonably priced.

Hidden gem, providing inexpensive, delicious and unusual curries - their traditional Nepalese food is absolutely fantastic (Himalayan dumplings and Timuri Lamb are superb, and I'd never had them before), as are theri curry-shop standards. Highly recommend - Penicuik is very lucky to have this restaurant!
